You can find my faves in my fanfic rec tag , but if you want Top 10, then there we go 1) Down to Agincourt by Seperis - this whole series is just…….just….yeah, totally wow, and the characterization will make you cry tears of joy because it’s AMAZING. ( endverse) 2)What I Need by Jacqueline Albright-Beckett - probably the best Medical AU I’ve read, ever. 3) and anywhere I lay my head I’ll call it home by janie_tangerine - a fic with a special place in my heart. Castiel sings, Dean gets lost. 4) sweeter coming from my hand, by grandpadean - written so beautifully it makes your heart ache 5) Red Right Hand by Duckyboos - this one is dark as fuck, mind the warnings. But if you’ve checked them out and are still interested - this one is a true gem. Twisted and wrong and beautifully written. 6) Chrysler Almighty - Zatnikatel - get ready for amazing smutfest.7) If At First You Don’t Succeed (Destroy All Evidence That You Ever Tried) by justkeeponwriting - shortly: Dean wanted to teach Cas a lesson. It didn’t go like he wanted it to. 8) Lock, Stock & Two Smokin’ Winchesters by Duckyboos - illegal boxing with a side of crazy badassery 9) The Face Behind the Mirror by ShippersList - a/b/o ( Alpha!Cas, Omega!Dean), yeah, I really liked this one, it gives you a lot of angst and hurt/comfort. Check the warnings and if you are good, give it a try ( warning: Sam is a total dick here) 10) A Mighty Dark Night by blue_fjords - hnghng, law enforcement AU and I love those. It’s good, it’s so very very goodAlso I remember really liking Last One Out Hits The Lights by entangled_now , and Trope Springs Eternal by VioletHaze( And Thursday’s Child by strangenessandcharm. Endverse, really good, beautifully written. Probably the first Destiel fic I’ve read. Check the warnings because it does touch a lot of heavy themes. Admin A’s notes: I really liked this story, so thank you for submitting it to us to read. I have a thing for parent Dean and Cas, so this was just what I was looking for. Now, there were a few problems that I noticed though; the grammar and punctuations needed to be looked over and betaed, but I’m not as bad of a grammar Nazi as Admin J is, so it wasn’t really a dealbreaker for me. The second thing that bothered me a little was that the writer obviously didn’t have much knowledge of military or hospital procedures, so those parts were a little unrealistic for me. I’m not expecting ppl to be professionals or to do hours of research to write a simple fanfic but a few minutes of scrolling through google would be greatly appreciated. Dean and Cas were both parents in this story and obviously over 30 years old but at times their interactions read very juvenile. The way they talked and reasoned wasn’t really the way I’d imagine a mature parent would behave either. But that said, I really did enjoy this story over all and I’d give it a pretty high rating too because despite it’s flaws, it still kept me engaged to the end and even got me a little emotional at times.

Summary: 36 year-old Dr. Castiel Novak lives for his work and his teen daughter Claire. His life is predictable but it goes on as it should and he finds comfort in routine. When Claire starts dating Ben, Castiel freaks out at first, but ends up liking the boy a lot. When Ben asks him to take a look at his father’s leg, wounded working for the UN troops, of course Castiel says yes. Little does he know that Ben’s dad is none other than Dean Winchester, the guy who broke his heart years ago. He tries to keep his distance, he tries to hate the guy, but this proves to be extremely difficult, because Dean is charming as ever, just as Castiel remembers…

A series of footsteps outside grew steadily louder as Dean filled the Keurig with water and started the percolator. When the key scraped the lock, he pulled down a third mug from the cabinet. Sam trotted inside and came to a rest just inside the kitchen, running a hand through his hair and breathing heavily.

“Dude, don’t sweat all over the floor.”

Sam rolled his eyes and grabbed a water bottle from the fridge. “So that new gym finally opened.”

“The one around the corner? Awesome, I thought they’d never finish construction.”

“Yeah,” Sam panted, “I went ahead and signed Jess and I up. You should too, it’s way cheap.”

Dean shrugged. “I might. It’s definitely closer than Lifetime.” He slapped Sam’s hand away as it reached for the pile of bacon he’d been shoveling onto a tray. “Shower first, then maybe I’ll let you eat in my kitchen. You stink.”

Sam flicked Dean sharply on the ear and trudged toward the stairs, calling over his shoulder, “I’ll see if the grump is awake.”

A series of grumbles and muffled curses followed the sharp knock at Castiel’s bedroom door. Dean felt the familiar flutter in his stomach at the sound of his best friend’s voice. He smiled to himself and went back to piling food onto three plates. By the time Castiel wandered into the kitchen, rumpled and bleary-eyed, Dean was on Sam’s laptop, Googling the new gym.

Deaf

(I’m trying something different here because I’m in the mood for a lot of writing. Bear with me~)

Destiel AU where Dean is born deaf. His entire life was filled with communication issues, little friends, and frustrations…until he meets Castiel in a book store.

Dean never really read books. All they did was taunt him, giving him a taste of something he’d always craved, but never the whole experience. Being born deaf was just about the most frustrating thing he could imagine. He would watch those around him move their lips, listen to music, and understand one another, but all he could do was watch it happen from the sidelines.

Sam helped him when he was younger and more challenged by connecting sign language letters and motions to words he could write on paper, but even being able to communicate more efficiently was upsetting because it just made him feel like he stood out, and not in a good way. When he did sign (which was 1,000x easier), nobody understood him. He tried talking at one point, but only found himself embarrassed.

So on an evening at the bookstore, Dean just doodled in his sketchbook at a small table while Sam browsed.

He was minding his business when he sensed a presence to his side. He looked up to see a man standing by him with moving lips and an unsure look on his face. When his lips stopped moving, he looked at Dean expectantly.

Without thinking that writing would be a better idea, Dean signed, Deaf, sorry. As soon as he realized the man probably couldn’t understand him, he reached for his pen but the man stopped him by signing back.

Sorry, I didn’t know. You know where fantasy books are?

Thump.

Castiel jumps in his seat when a thick envelope lands right on top of the article in the morning paper that he’d been reading a moment ago, and he nearly knocks over his mug of tea in the process.

He glances up, where Dean is towering over him, an amused smirk on his face, green eyes curious.

“This came in the mail for you, Castiel Winchester.” He teases, quirking an eyebrow.

Castiel feels his face turn the same shade of red as the average traffic light when he remembers; it’s the library card that the local library promised to send him. He’d been quick to give them the address of the bunker, knowing it by heart. However when they’d asked him for his last name, he’d drawn a blank, then blurted out the first name that came to mind.

Only now does he realize how this sounds, and he bites his bottom lip as he sheepishly stares back at Dean. It’s one thing to be dating Dean, but sharing a last name is something a lot more serious to most humans. It may have been an accident, but scaring Dean away now that they’re finally together is not how Castiel wants this to end.

“I- I am very sorry, Dean. I apologize, I wasn’t thinking, I have an explanation I swear, it’s- Hmmp…”

He’s forced to quit rambling when Dean leans closer, dips his head, and kisses Castiel right on the lips. Dean’s mouth moves with purpose, the kiss slightly urgent, and all Castiel can do is wrap his arms around Dean’s neck and hold on.

When they part, Dean laughs as his eyes flicker to the envelope again, sounding positively giddy.

“Castiel Winchester, huh… Never occurred to me that you’re gonna need a last name now that you’re with the humans, but this sounds perfect.” He declares with a glint in his eyes, pressing one last fleeting kiss to Castiel’s temple. “We’re making that official. Soon.”

Slack jawed, Castiel stares after Dean who makes his way to the coffee machine, a skip in his step, whistling a tune. Apparently Dean wants Castiel to have his name, gets excited about it even. Once that sinks in, Castiel timidly smiles to himself. His grin slowly grows wider when he opens his mail and notices that the library card, predictably, says ‘Castiel Winchester’.

Luckiest. Accident. Ever.

imagine teen rhett and links friendship group lowkey shipping them and always teasing how they’ll end up being together and asking questions like ‘have you guys ever gotten drunk and kissed?’ but the two of them just brush it off always replying 'he’s like my brother, its not like that’ and then one day someone in the friendship group purposely suggests spin the bottle, and they’re all a little tipsy so when its rhetts second turn everyones excitied bc this turn means kiss! and everyones filled with a lil more adrenaline, especially link whose practically shaking in the spot and then it lands on him and he thinks he might pass out and all their friends cheer bc finally and rhetts like 'well okay its for the game’ and he’s more than tipsy at this point and he’s intoxicated enough to admit to himself this has been what he’s always wanted as he leans towards a shaking link and pecks him on the lips and he instantly smiles bc its better than he ever imagined but just as he’s about to pull back link grabs him by the shoulders and pulls their lips back together and eventually they stop bc everyones telling them to get a room and the two pull back blushing like crazy!! but theyre also buzzing because it finally happened and the rest of the night they get non-stop teasing and know they’ll forever have to hear ‘we told you so’ but they dont even care because theyre in love with their best friend and whats better than that

Don’t think about genderfluid!Link wearing oversized (maybe Rhett sized?) tshirts and sweaters that come down to the middle of his thighs and slip off one shoulder, because he likes feeling small and cute when he’s feeling feminine. Don’t think about him wearing them around the house over nothing but a pair of pretty, baby pink panties because he likes the way his legs look and feel, the curves from his thighs to his knees to his calves smooth and slender. Don’t think about the pink lace peeking out from under the hem of his shirt when he reaches up to get something out of the kitchen cupboard or stretches his arms over his head. Don’t think about him wearing a bra to match, because he likes the way the lacy strap looks across his elegant collar bone when the shirt slips off his shoulder. Don’t think about him standing like this in front of the kitchen window clutching a cup of coffee, hair still tousled from his shower, bathed in early morning sunlight.

And don’t think about how unbearably cute Rhett would find him. Don’t think about how his cheeks would ball up every time he looked at him. Don’t think about how he wouldn’t be able to resist pulling Link into his arms or putting his hands on Link’s slim waist and nuzzling into his hair every chance he gets, how he wouldn’t be able to keep himself from repeatedly telling Link how pretty and beautiful and perfect he is.

Don’t think about any of that because it’s way too soft and cute and gross and will kill you slowly.

Prompt 15 of 642: Describe your first kiss.

“What was your first kiss like?” Charlie asked, tipping her martini glass with most of the Cosmo in it long gone at Jo.

Jo laughed and covered her face. “No! It’s too embarrassing!”

“Well…if you want to take a dare instead…”

“Oh, God, no. Not one of your dares. Alright, fine. I’ll tell it.”

Charlie, Dorothy, Benny, Jesse, and Cesar all leaned forward to hear the story better. Sam leaned back so that he could sign for Eileen; Jo still had her face covered as she started talking making it impossible to read her lips.

Castiel leaned back into the couch and sighed heavily. He was doing a fairly good job of ignoring the fact that Dean’s thigh was pressed against his. Dean was doing it on purpose, Castiel knew that much. This weird, competitive game of gay chicken they’d been playing with each other for nearly two years now had started to escalate lately. The banter and suggestive dialogue and double entendres were about the same, which was to say every other sentence out of their mouths, but within the past couple of months things had started to get…physical. And Castiel didn’t know how to respond it. He liked it. He liked the idea of it going further, but when he considered it in reality it just seemed impossible.

Dean rolled his head on his neck so that he rested it half on the back of the couch and half on Cas’ shoulder as he whispered into Cas’ ear.

“So, we’re, like, thirty-somethings,” he said, “and we’re drinking girlie drinks and playing truth or dare on a Saturday night.”

“What would you rather be doing?” Castiel asked.

Dean snorted and glanced up at Cas with a knowing smile. Cas rolled his eyes.
