How is one meant to research and write two thesis chapters IN TWO WEEKS and double check their data analysis is correct. Asking for friend xxxxx
Day one and I got horribly sidetracked trying to read every paper about my bbygal pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase 4 that exists (for my literature search) and then stress ate a sandwich containing tomatoes (which I do not like but it reminded me at least when writing my thesis I am not eating tomatoes).
Day two (and continuous day 6 of 10+ hour panic writing) and I have completed a very mediocre lit search and thought so hard I now am very flushed , I have shaky legs, and never want to think about metabolic inflexibility again (until tomorrowwww). And all the other PhD finalists get to enjoy their weekend cos they can afford to take a write up year (and also don’t have a supervisor off for the whole summer up until deadline lol). I promise you my thesis will read better than this paragraph but me brain is frazzled.
We’re gonna say day 6 of the constant write-up and I thought so hard doing linear regressions I forgot how to breathe and had a dizzy spell in the library. Butttt wrote quite a good chunk of my first results chapter’s discussion and started writing up my human results chapter.
Day 7: why on earth have I got a 60 page long chapter? I won’t shut up. Every stone cannot be left unturned. This is the encyclopaedia of skeletal muscle metabolism and you better enjoy it.
This is really holding me accountable even if all the notes are me talking to myself. Day 8 - did a really successful western blot and wrote the whole introduction and discussion in another 12 hour study spree! Minus the aims and a heavy lot of editing, my first results chapter (draft 1) exists! And now I have 9 whole weeks to edit and make sure I fully know the literature.
Day 9 (is that all?) and I fell asleep at lunchtime so revived myself with a double espresso sparking mass concern. Was only productive in the last hour as I kept dozing off and then one of the yapper I was trying to hide from finds me in the library. A student did a banging western blot for me and a coworker is tryna get me into trouble constantly in my absence so I’m excited to see what I’m in trouble for tomorrow. It’s nearly the weekend and I might take a day (or both of them) off before I pass out.

Hey do you ever just like out of the blue remember that Hecate’s “Ada Cackle is a force for good, not just for witchcraft, but for the world” speech is actually a thing that happened in canon and not in like a melodramatic Hackle fic? Because I do, and it always brings a tear to my eye.
They told you you’re a nobody. So you became the Queen.
