I read that people only take your disorder seriously if you say "I have a neurological condition that doesn't allow me to _____" or "I have a neurological condition that makes it hard for me to _____" and people will be like 'oh damn my bad take your time' but if you say "i have adhd so i have trouble managing time" they'll assume you are lazy or faking. And it is so fucking true, the only way a NT will take your condition seriously is if you throw some medical words at them. It is useless to mention adhd, autism, aspd, bpd and so on. For them it just means you want attention or you are just looking for excuses and expecting a special treatment. So from now on, just explain it to them as if you were a neurologist handing a diagnosis and they were a concerned mother of a 10 yo child. Works everytime.
