A BROTHER’S SONG, Second of Four
There is a figure cloaked in white dust. He stands with a broken arm outstretched, and whispers two words that save my life.
“Run away.”
I am able to roll to the side, and barely evade the blow of an axe so massive that it creates a crater in the rock that I rest on.
“So…I’ve finally found you…” croaks an inhuman voice. It takes me a few seconds to clear my weary head.
“It’s been too long, maggot,” the discolored man pants. He sniffs a drooping mass of green mucus back into a twisted nose.
It takes me less than a moment to draw my sword of jade, and only a fraction of that time to duck under another swing of his hulking axe. I rush forward at the same time and cleave the abomination in two.
“No…” I say, watching intensely as his eyes begin to fill with pain. “The time is just right for you.”
It starts to rain. And I begin to cry.

I’m waiting on you Under the clouded moon Where you said you would be But you’re nowhere to be seen Here I am waiting for a call, A message, anything, To let me know you’re coming All the while anxiety is building Building up like a brick wall I feel like falling Did you get caught in the rain? The rain I’m standing in Waiting for you, Hoping you’re out there somewhere, Trying to get to me soon Instead of leaving me behind Where I’ll be left waiting for you Until the end of time

I love harder Now that you’re gone I’ve finally found peace Now that I’ve moved on I once feared it to be impossible After loving you for so long The weather has long changed since then Love has begun again We met in a coffee shop He said hello From then on we couldn’t be stopped We fell in love so suddenly He grew to be everything to me And I to him That’s what I love about this man He loves me to the brim Like coffee overflowing from my cup This love is no bluff Overwhelming Transforming I’ve changed completely It’s for the best You and I split Lay the past to rest I’ve found someone new I gave him my heart I pray he won’t tear it apart Leaving wounds like you did Painful Infected This man is like the finest coconut oil Lathered all over me He treats me as though I’m royal Most of all he wants me happy And happy I shall be As long as I have him As long as he has me Who knew such love could be found After what seemed such a tragedy
