@nellospace11 Yes, AI has some advantages, and can do some things better the people can, and we cannot deny that.
Like, for example, AI is used in airport security now, to catch criminals as people can miss a lot of details that a machine may catch. And that IS preventing a lot of crimes.
But Generative AI is not doing that. And Generative AI is practically useless and an insult to humanity and intelligence of itself.
As @astracaedes stated, AI is a major factor in climate change, and if there is no Earth to live on, NONE of this will ultimately matter. I could talk a lot more about this as I have studied about this specificaly, but since Astra pointed it out, I am going to leave it there.
And if "No one supports AI art and literature" then why the fuck does it still exist??? As a fact, Amazon Prime Video just greenlit and is offering to fund 3 fully AI generated films.
"And it's helping the students in the world, create notes, study more efficiently. " No it isn't. No the hell it isn't. It's making students lazier and dumber. An article that reviewed usage of AI to study among Singaporean students showed that a student said, and I quote "I can't do maths, so I don't really bother doing them. It's a wastage of time." You have to do something to learn it. Learn from your mistskes. Using AI is the same as getting someone to do the work for you (bonus points for destroying our beloved planet in the process!!) and you cannot "study" from that. When given a task, without the help of AI, said students will not be able to complete it. AI also completely destroys all critical thinking prospects as AI does the thinking for you. I have seen my friends use AI for questions in English class as simple as "If you were president for a day, what would you do?". The asnwer that he submitted was not what he would do if he were president, it's what Chatgpt would do. And that destroys his capability to think and answer questions such as this. And AI helps you take notes?? AI confidently gives you wrong information, and as stated before by others, is programmed to agree with you with whatever you say. If you ask AI what lungs are, the Bing AI automatically answers that it's a muscle. I have not searched it up, it's the new "AI overview" system that almost all browsers have recently put in place. There are plenty of websites out there that can make your learning easier, for example the ones I use, Khan Academy, where you can watch videos and complete excercises to practice and learn the material, and Quiziz, where you can create flash cards and view flash cards made by other PEOPLE on the topic. Also don't forget that Youtube exists, where a lot of people can easily summarize a topic. And if none of those work for you, there's a well-known concept called "GET A MOTHERFUCKING PAPER AND PEN OR A GOOGLE DOC AND ASK A TEACHER"
Using AI for literature, art, or studying is a dissappointment to humanity and any moral code that we may posess.
