I don’t think that you’d find Christ in the home of a mega pastor or in the home of men like Donald Trump but instead you’d find Him in the queer community center. You’d find Him in the homes of people who are struggling to take care of themselves and their community. You’d find Him where there is genuine love and community instead of greed and hatred for the other.
I've been thinking. You see a lot of stuff going around in Christian circles about how you don't *have* to give to beggars, they might just use it for drugs, you couldn't even help all of them if you did, etc. etc...
But like.
What if we did, tho.
What if each set aside the amount of money we thought we could afford for it each month, and just kept a couple 5$ bills in our wallets. And we stopped worrying about what they were gonna do with it and just tried to help? And once you're out for the month that's fine, because you know another Christian will have it covered. Like yeah most of us can't afford to sell all our possessions, but we've got $30, right?
You know, what if. What if we did. What if that was our legacy. Because man, it used to be. And I'm tired of it not being again.
Edited to add: if people truly don’t feel comfortable giving money, socks are also a very good option! I prefer the Dickies brand, as they’re durable and relatively cheap; a large package of the men’s large size can be bought for a reasonable price on Amazon.
Actually I’m gonna say that you can’t be Christian and NOT give to the needy.
“Oh they might use it for drugs”
Did Jesus say “Oh I can’t heal this man because he might do something wrong” or “Don’t give to pagans because they might use that money for stuff you disagree with.”
No. He said give to the needy.
It’s not my job to make choices for these people. It’s my job to care for them.

❝ Do you have an ambivalence towards the church in general? Or are you a whole hearted supporter? ❞
Jesus wasn't white. But other than that, This is prefect

The highlight of my week.
Drew my dnd character Calumythys Suntower and his “cat” Gus Bastardly!
I just thought this was hilarious and great so y'all might like it too!
Also Suntower is such a awesome last name I can't believe I haven't heard it before.
Spaghetti and meatballs are severely underrated. That is all.
I'm not trans, but I want to stand with my friends that are. I've been bullied, but I can't imagine how much worse it must be for trans peoole and from within your own family and friend groups.
I'm lucky that all the trans people in my life who have come out to me are still alive today. I'm lucky to know them at all. I'm lucky to be friends with them.
Trans people are people and they deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and given the all the rights the rest of us take for granted.

Each month I'm learning that more and more of my friends are queer, or have autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder, or bipolar disorder.
I think it's kinda fucked that it's all been labeled a disorder. I don't know what I'm talking about medically speaking, but I feel like if so many of us have a "disorder" then maybe it's just that people come in a lot of different flavors and the bounds of normal need to be expanded. We don't all have to be the same to have the same intrinsic value and be worthy of love & dignity. Just because my brain works differently than "how it should" doesn't mean that me or my friends are not functioning properly. (Being queer is absolutely still getting called a disorder)
I think it means they built a system that exclusively praises people like them while still trying to make neuro-divergent people useful as underpaid labor or queer people the scapegoats for their systems failures to keep them in luxury and power while demonizing us for not being like them.
Of course this is an anti-capitalist post. That's literally my whole deal. They need billions of people to work their warehouses, grocery stores, restaurants, drive their shipping trucks, babysit their kids, clean their homes, cars, and offices, harvest their food, work in their factories, teach their children, balance their budget, repair their car, do their taxes, and the million other underpaid jobs at the bottom of the respect & pay ladder. Without us their system absolutely collapsed. Because we're doing all the work. They just collect the profits.
They exploit you for your labour. They believe you're too stupid to understand that. They make you believe you are powerless to change things because you are alone. You are not stupid and you are not alone. The strikes have just begun. Unions are the first step to fight back. Collective bargaining is how we balance the power scales and set things right.
We are all in one fight together to throw off the oppression of the people who seek only to shame, control, and exploit the 99% of the world. Don't let them divide you.
Happy Labour day, brought to you by the unions.
This post is rated PG-13 because I only said fuck once. Oh shit, fuck I said it again, damnit that's 3 times, fuck. Fuck it whatever.
Sometimes the chaos of life gets scary. Sometimes the uncertainty feels like it could swallow me, my happiness, and any hope of being happy again. Sometimes I get lost in that. Sometimes I spiral.
But lately I've been able to pull out of the spiral. The people around me have been supportive and encouraging. When my anxiety takes over and tries to convince me that things won't go the way I hope or the things that are going well will fall apart, I am trying to imagine new fun potential futures that can be built from the rubble.
I guess I just want to be a reminder of hope that things can get better. Sometimes it's possible to pull out of the spiral and have hope.
Hey the first segment aired today! You should go listen to it 👍
