They Know Me ♦ Ranulf & Lethe
Well that was easier than she thought.
"Gate?" What gate was he talking about anyway? "Ha, of course you couldn’t. Even if you did I wouldn’t let you off the hook that easily!"  If there really was a gate that leads them to another place far from Gallia, then she better see a damn gate when they get there.
"Alright, Ranulf. Lead the way."
"No problem. Follow me."
Morphing into his full beast form, Ranulf glanced at Lethe before running ahead. She'd catch up, he figured.

It was a while before the two arrived at the gate. Ranulf ran up, slowing to a stop and changing shape back into his more human form. He looked up at the mass before them as Lethe caught up beside him.
"Well, this is it." He motioned at the massive doors before them. To be honest, he didn't quite understand them himself. There was nothing on the other side if you just walked around them. But if mages existed, he figured other odd forms of magic could as well. He walked over to the heavy doors, grabbing hold and struggling just a little as he slowly pulled them open.
They Know Me ♦ Ranulf & Lethe
"What do you mean by that?" It would be a matter of time for Lethe to catch on what Ranulf doesn’t want to say to her. The more vague he was about it, the more she wanted to get more information out of him.
Although Lethe didn’t wait for him to reply. Instead she thought of a better idea. “You know what, I’d like to go to Ylisse right now and you’re gonna take me, got it?” She wasn’t going to take no for an answer either. “I wanna meet your new friend personally!”
Ranulf stood silent as Lethe questioned him. While he wasn't what he'd call a defender of the beorc, he sometimes did find it difficult to speak of their violent actions against his race. At this point it may have been his fear of breaking Lethe's hear further, rather than lessen his faith in the humans any further though.
The moment Lethe spoke up with a different subject in mind was a huge weight brought off of his shoulders.
"Sure thing, Lethe. From the sounds of that tone, I don't think IÂ could get away with saying no. Follow me, alright? I'll show you to the gate."

I'm Not Alone ♦ Ranulf and Yarne
Yarne nodded, averting his eyes a little “Well I still am in war, but this is my second..my first..our parents started it I guess..well not like it was their fault but they were the first to fight on our side..they all died, and it was just down to my friends and I to stop it…it being the Fell Dragon Grima..i-its a giant dragon of death and destruction and just about the most terrifying thing-..my friends and I werent enough though..so we came back to try and stop what had happened..and thats about here we are now.”
"They all died..."
Yet again Yarne's words have provoked a harsh pain in Ranulf's chest. This wasn't an easy topic for Yarne to speak of, and the fear the memory put in the rabbit laguz's eyes was one he could see easily.
"You've really seen it all, kid... I'm sorry. Look, I've felt enough sadness for the day. How about we cheer up and have a good dinner, alright?"
Ylisse? Where in the world was that located and just how far was it from Tellius? Lethe couldn’t be bothered to ask right away, she didn’t want Ranulf to know how eager she was to learn more about the unfamiliar nation.
Lethe shrugged, “I… guess that sounds good.” She really would like to visit and meet these Taguel. The more Ranulf talked about them, the more they sound similar to laguz. “If they’re anything like us, they’re welcomed in my book.”
"There is one issue, though." Ranulf paused. Considering Lethe's sensitivity on the subject of beorc and laguz relations, this was no easy subject to step around. Even if he did not tell her now, he knew she'd discover the truth one day.
"There's only two of them left." He sighed. Yarne's story wasn't an easy one to take in the first time he heard it, and it sure wasn't easy to retell either. "The way they put it, they thought the rest of our kind were dead too... He sure was excited to hear about an entire nation of us."
"I thought King Caineghis would have taught his subjects to treat fellow Laguz with respect."
"Funny words coming from a guy like yourself."
I'm Not Alone ♦ Ranulf and Yarne
"Ike?" Yarne stopped in the middle of camp, watching Ranulf "..That…sounds really familiar…I can’t really place how though..Oh but um I’m glad you guys pulled through."
"It’s…um…..well its certainly a better end than my only finished war story…"
"Familiar as it should be! He became known as a hero throughout our country... Known as the Radiant Hero by many. It was easy enough for me to find my way here, so I'm sure the possibility of of another from Tellius spreading the tale across this land."
Yarne's tale of war already didn't sound too positive, but Ranulf couldn't deny his curiosity.
"You were in a war too, huh?"
Well now he has her full attention. “Taguel…?” she repeated, the word at the tip of her tongue. She has never heard of a phrase like that in her life.
"If they’re not from Gallia or any other part of Tellius, then what’s this place called?"
"The Halidom of Ylisse."
Ranulf began to wonder if Lethe would believe any of his story once he got started. It was definitely a hard one to believe. He decided to let it go for now.
"I'll have to bring you one day soon... Or bring the Taguel here to visit. I promised the boy that I would someday."
Her tail twitched, how she would love to wipe that smirk off his face. “Believe what you want about it!” At least, she would like to think she doesn’t care.
Lethe’s glare soon softened at the mention of Gallia. Are there really places where she’s never been to yet? That’s hard to imagine. “Oh? Well go on, amaze me.”
"Laguz. There are more of them where I went! I met this young boy named Yarne... He believed he was the last of the Laguz. I've never seen someone so excited to meet me before."
"He looked sort of like a rabbit, and said he was called a Taguel. Or something of that sort."
I'm Not Alone ♦ Ranulf and Yarne
Yarne changed back as they reached the camp, walking ahead but looking back watching Ranulf.
"You were a mercenary? You don’t really…well no, I guess all the mercenaries I know are all pretty different. Maybe its just using a sword seems a little silly when you can turn into a beast..but if you’re good at it I guess who am I to judge."
"Hah, it's alright to say I don't seem like one... It would have been more appropriate for me to say that I was traveling with mercenaries."
Ranulf thought back on the times of war across Tellius. The times they were forced to set up camp in the freezing winters and months of rain. Yeah, it sucked at the time. But when he thought of it now, he realized how proud he was of the people he knew.
"The leader of the mercenaries... His name was Ike."
"He was hired to keep the Crimean Princess safe in a time of war. We became an army over time to win her land back... It was a harsh war, but it took the right turn in the end."
I'm Not Alone ♦ Ranulf and Yarne
Yarne looked back and grinned at the large cat, he wasn’t used to seeing him yet, and it was still so incredibly exciting. Yarne transformed into his rabbit form to match but still tried to keep the same pacing
 ”Oh I’m uh I’m not going to need it later, it’s okay! I was just looking for some mushrooms and herbs that I was going to use in dinner! But I’ll just make something else I don’t need them!”
Yarne was so excited it was hard to contain. He couldn’t wait to tell the others about his discovery today, and he could show them too!
Keeping up with Yarne all the way back to his camp, Ranulf eyed the Taguel's transformation with interest yet again. A rabbit, huh? He definitely looked like no rabbit he'd seen before. But who was he to judge? It wasn't as though blue cats where too common, either.
"Hey, whatever suits you best, Taguel!"Â
As the two reached the location of the Shepherd's camp, Ranulf returned to his much more human form. He took a few slow steps onto camp, turning in a circle to take in his surroundings.
"Reminds me of my days with the Greil Mercenaries..."
Search for the Radiant Hero ♦ Ranulf and Reyson
"W-wait we’re-!…hmph"
Reyson looked away crossing his arms , thinking quietly
”..Fine. It seems like an acceptable task..I suppose we have a journey ahead of ourselves then.”
Patting the prince lightly on the shoulder, Ranulf walked on ahead in no particular hurry. Before they could go on their so-called journey, some thought would have to be put into it.
They both were well aware of how quickly Ike was to travel. It was hard to say where he might be at that moment. Spinning around on one foot, he stopped to face Reyson, taking slow steps backwards.
"We'll start at the headquarters of the Greil Mercenaries. If they're not there, I'm sure someone in the area will have at least a slight idea of where they've headed."

"Thousands, wow…Alright great! Come on then lets head back to camp!-Oh wait that’s right I was..trying to find..well I can make something else, come on!"
He turned and ran off back for camp, glancing back to make sure Ranulf followed
Starting off following by foot, Ranulf transformed into his full beast form in order to keep up an easy pace behind Yarne. If anything, he could surely inform the king of this unknown Laguz's speed.
Leaping over fallen branches and around trees, he managed to stick close behind the rabbit.
"Hey! What was it you were looking for, anyway? Once we're done back at your camp I wouldn't mind helping you search? I think I've got plenty of time."
