As the number of TV networks and shows have continued to grow and grow over the years, so has the competition between networks and shows to attract as big as well as diverse a viewership as possible. However, it is not only important to grab an audiences’ attention, but also hold onto it, and for that you need a well-written, entertaining storyline along with believable characters. The creators of the New Zealand fantasy dramedy series The Almighty Johnsons faced such challenges, and succeeded in wooing network executives along with TV viewers with its story of four brothers and their grandfather, all of whom also happened to be reincarnated Norse gods.
