These Australian folk duo are brothers and sisters. I love the idea of siblings being in a band. It makes it that much more dreamier.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but I have such a fascination with birthday cards and post cards that have quirky sayings. Found this particularly awesome card at World Market (btw they have insanely cool things) and after reading this it made me smile. Without hesitation I got this card for a good friend because it's something I would have probably would have said being sixteen and naive. It made me realize how much I've grown up in a sense. But never too old to send cards that reads valley girl all over it.
My trip to Hawaii was an incredible one from experiencing swimming in clear water, watching a luau with polynesian dancers & fire dancers, hiking Manoa falls, making orchid wristlets, trying hawaiian lilikoi shaved ice for the first time, exploring Waikiki and eating the "infamous" ube pancakes. Though it was short-lived because I was only able to stay for five days and wasn't able to do everything on my list like swim with dolphins and sea turtles while snorkeling, try fresh pineapple ice cream at the dole plantation, but at least I can save it for the my next visit. I'd also want to fly out and visit other parts of Hawaii since I was only able to explore the tourist spots.
I can honestly say that this was a perfect ending to my break before I head back to school for the Fall Quarter. It nice to get out of the city once in awhile and fly out for a vacation that has a different atmosphere. Whether it's re-energize or relax. I'm motivated to work hard so that I may have more moments like this.

Looking for something to do this weekend? Stop by Silverlake flea market this Saturday and check out our HAPPY MEDIUM booth. We have a ton of interesting things from re-vamp vintage pieces, handmade clothing, home decor, shoes, jewelry, hats, and a pile of things that range $5-10. We have cleaned out our closet to raise funds for our start up company. Because buying materials to do what you love unfortunately does cost money. So please come out and support us while getting your dose of vintage things.
Oh and did I mention, we also had a few stops along the way and went to see windmills and a dinosaur park just for fun.
Out of spontaneity, took a day trip with friends to drive out to Niland to visit the infamous Salvation Mountain. Not knowing what to expect, I was able to witness such a magical place that is full of creativity. Who knew something that you dream about can exist in real life. From the vibrant color palette, to the bible versus, to the shrine with items left by travelers it was such a spiritual journey to see a landmark built handmade by a man that was so passionate about his faith.
You can't end summer without having attend one of Cinespia's movie night events in Hollywood Forever Cemetery. If you live in Los Angeles, these are the places you need to visit. This past labor day weekend on Sunday, I got to enjoy watching a favorite 80's flick starring Molly Ringwald. I collaborated with friends in bringing the most amazing snacks + treats for us to munch on. It's no surprise we settled on a lovely cheese platter, fruits, macaroons, white cheddar popcorn and two bottles of wine. It's was quite a nice feeling to just relax and enjoy a picnic in the grass area as the sun goes down, waiting endlessly for your movie to start while 80's retro music plays in the background by DJ Soko Cat. Another great perk to this event was that they had a Prom Photo Booth with a random girl dressed in a big, pouffy, sparkly pink dress to pose along with. But honestly, these are the kind of things I cherish during the summer. Maybe I should invest in a projector and have moments like these forever.
Pool side essentials for fun-filled labor day weekend.
Re-evaluating life.
Everyday you make conscious decisions of what you want in life by your actions. After talking to my inner thoughts countless of times, I've decided to take the next steps in my life. It's a frightening, exhilarating feeling all at the same time and it's something i've been wanting, but afraid to go after it and that's all about to change.
Selling some stuff on ebay, give it a look. My username is (goaskjulie) I'm quite new at this. I'm actually "trying" to lessen my closet space because I'll be moving and I have found a lot of stuff that are still fairly new, but don't fit me or have only worn once. I'd rather give it a home where it will be more cherished.
Finding inspiration today with a good read and my sliced mango chia seeds with almonds.

Morocco is mo' rock in it! Something about a beautifully textured indigo tiles, a roof pool, outdoor patio and an 8 foot tall cactus makes me really want to leave everything behind and book a ticket here. How wonderful would it be if I could have a dream job of traveling all over the word to let people where to stay, where to eat and where to go at night. Sigh, if only.
