Why do we love Dan and Phil so much?
Many people would call our fandom ‘insane,” which for some of us is a fitting title, but why are we so crazily obsessed with these two awkward guys from Britain? I think it’s because they are relatable, not in a, ‘oh ya I talk to myself and I wear glasses too,’ type way, but instead in a way that we all want a friendship like theirs. In our day and age, the internet is one of the easiest ways to make friends and I think all of us have a desire to bond with someone over the internet, dreaming of the moment when you can finally meet them irl. Dan and Phil lived out our fantasies right before our eyes, which shows us that their dreams are relatively similar to ours, which makes them seem very relatable. Dan and Phil have connected and built a legacy for themselves over the internet and we all are slightly living vicariously through their success and fulfilled dreams.
