the response obviously depends on how mutual the feeling is, but to give you a general idea:
verum would be super confused and lost, as she'd never ever engaged in romance in her life. even with mactare, she hardly can call it love; all her devotion is directed at her goddess, so unless you're astrum herself, you're going to be met with a very gentle, yet undeniable rejection. there is this kind of motherly love she has for every member of the church, and she might become more attentive to you after the confession as to at least somehow heal your broken heart, but there is no way her feelings for a living person will match her homoerotic religious yearning for astrum. platonic, queerplatonic and so on attractions will be met with the exact same reaction. tldr: you stand no chance.
contra's potential reaction ranges from turning around and leaving without a word to punching you to actually accepting your feelings and starting dating you. postironically. contra's potential behavior as your partner ranges from actively ruining your life by all means possible just for fun to actually being a pretty decent boygirlfriend for you right untill she gets bored and breaks up with you anyway. in every outcome, you WILL be mocked for confessing to her for the rest of your life. if your love is platonic, she will ask you to stop inventing funny names for friendship. she's also not your friend so fuck you. ironically, you will be met with much more resistance in that case, as platonic love is the one she's actually able to reciprocate, but she HATES acknowledging her attachments, so you'd be better off just not putting any labels at all to whatever you have going on with her. tldr: just don't.

since mactare's whole being is to be anything and everything others want them to be, there's a high chance that even if they're not into you, they'll accept your feelings and at least try to reciprocate. they might not agree to date you right away; they can even say that it's not possible for you to be with them for whatever reason, but whatever kind of attention you'll ask of them, they will provide to the best of their abilities. regardless of their feelings, you'll be always able to get their body, their time, their affection - even if you two aren't together, especially if you aren't together, since they will feel the need to "compensate" for their rejection to you. they won't outright lie to you, they're not deceptive, but they are nothing if not pleasing. it barely matters what their actual feelings are here.

damn, that's a good question. i've never thought about awakardak characters in terms of nationality - the concept just isn't applicable to the world they live in. however, if we're going with real life au/headcanons, there are a few options!
verum is an unholy mix of polish, czech and slovak, maybe even serbian; head of the church is romanian-bulgarian. contra is filipino, catul is turkish or maybe kazakh, mactare is mongolian. remors is croatian, perhaps irish, tespis and proto are both ukrainian-canadian, adorans is ukrainian-polish, and vito is syrian/french. unnamed mirror god is finnish, and X is australian/british!
literally everyone is ukrainian, but verum specifically has some very very very distant russian roots, as to me her character is inseparable from my experience with russian peers. diversity wins?
i have so so many thought on septem teag. probably will have even more after i replay the novel. he such a beautiful weird little creature to me.....
