Again--the framing here is quite funny and warrants a closer scrutiny.
âmy âjoyâ is contingent on people like you not shaming people for being happy with work theyâve already done.â Which part of my post âshamedâ you for anything? Genuinely curious to know, because like, this is precisely what the fuck Iâm talking about.
Liberals take any sort of critique of anything makes them feel good as a moral indictment of their feelings and, by extension, themselves as people. That speaks to the sort of way their politics are structured, which, imo, warrants closer scrutiny.
âif you want to be angry forever with no breaks to acknowledge what progress youâve made, then be my guest. but stop trying to bully other people for being happy with what theyâve done. â
I do think itâs quite interesting how you think that being aware of the realities, which many of us cannot escape from, and reminding people of those realities, means âbeing angry foreverâ.
Moreover, the implication that speaking about those realities, and reminding people of the shortfalls of the way they approach politics (which this âpls stop ruining our funâ line of thought is a prime example of btw, which is why I pointed it out specifically) = âbullying them.â
Like, telling people who speak abt how there really isnât much joy to take from these things to shut up, bc it impedes on your joy personally, is likely what most people would classify as âshutting someone downâ and âshamingâ them, but yâknow, wtf do I know.
âitâs shitty takes like this that makes young people think they can only care about one thing.â Lol.
âpeople should be ecstatic with what weâve done here. Â life is a series of small wins until you get what youâre after.â
You literally place yourself as the arbiter of everyone elseâs feelings with this line but then literally in the next one you say, âyour feelings matter too?????â So which is it? Because you canât tell people to shut up and be ecstatic when they clearly donât agree with you on the issue, and then offer a mealy-mouthed, âOh but your feelings matter too, even though Iâm gonna act like they donât if they happen to be inconvenient to me!!!â
âbut that doesnât mean people arenât allowed to experience joy. people are allowed to be happy that the hero of the KKK will be out of office. people are allowed to be happy that the next president isnât a literal white supremacist. â
Again, please do point out to me where, in my initial post, I said people *canât* feel this way???
âI want you to shut the absolute fuck up because youâre literally influencing the people who will be able to vote next election.
alkdfja;lsdkfjasldkfjasdfasdfadfadsf itâs flattering to ascribe this amount of power and influence to a group of people who shit post on a regular basis but okay.
âyouâre telling them that if they cared, theyâd be angry that we took the country back from a wannabe dictator. theyâd be angry at us for celebrating his downfall.â
Where the fuck did I say this in my initial post?
âbut yeah! shut the fuck up! let people experience their emotions without feeling guilty because you arenât happy! â
If you feel guilty, maybe (and hold on with me for a second here) this is a *you* problem specifically?? Like, you reblogged *my* post with your take. You could have kept scrolling, and your joy would have remained unimpeded. If you felt guilty, maybe that says something about you and not me.
âwe can be happy that we won and keep going or we can be angry that we arenât further ahead.â
Itâs pretty clear someone did in fact misconstrue things, but itâs good to know form this conclusion that it aintâ me.
