I came here from Twitter & Bluesky after a drought of Solr∞k content.

Drawing is my main thing but my frequency of artposting is very irregular. Sorry!

My "main" fandom is JoJo's Bizarre Adventure!

I am currently hyperfixated on: Dragon Age: The Veilguard (Solas & Rook specifically).

like to me. they 100% designed davrin to be the alistair and cullen of veilguard. he's incredibly gorgeous and hot. hot voice too. has that whole tortured "i should've died" arc. they gave him that little turkey pet. the way he flirts with rook makes my toes curl. he has that fanservice workout scene

if davrin were not black i feel like ppl who couldn't get into veilguard would be into it bc they have another white warrior man to fixate on

guilty pleasure confession: there's a somewhat-niche ship in the ATLA gang that I've always secretly liked since I first watched the show as a kid. Zuko and Toph. and the latest avatar aang movie has a shot of them that FINALLY fed my soul after nearly 2 decades of starvation 🤭

Life is short. Download the EPUB of your own AO3 fic and read it on your Kindle or tablet as if you aren't the author and you're a random reader stumbling upon the fic for the first time. Go on. Do it.

During my bookworm phase as a kid, I always wondered why people prefer listening to audiobooks instead of just reading. "That's not reading, that's being told a bedtime story!" I used to say.

Growing up and getting a job -- and thereby becoming too busy to get the chance to open a book... I finally get it.

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but I fear that the "fanfics are written better than published novels" statement is beginning to become more and more false everyday. Because explain to me why people are complaining that simply being given tips to write dialogues "like this," instead of "like this" or "like this." (followed by X said) is apparently linguistic elitism? Like sure, other languages have it in different formats... but YOU ARE WRITING IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE!!! Is the bar for entry so low that critiques are being treated like a personal attack instead of a path to improvement???

I understand the feelings of new gen AO3 writers when they don't get enough kudos on a fic, but the sooner they realize that the platform doesn't NEED an algorithm—it is an ARCHIVE so you can write to your heart's will without thinking about the no. of likes and views—the better...
