Call him a fool, but Franky had fallen in love at first ball grab with the crew's stunning archaeologist. She was the type of lady who deserved to be courted, and Franky had a few ideas in mind.
He watched as Robin sat on the tree swinging one set of hands sprouting behind her back as she swung back and forth with a book in hand. The wind ruffled her black hair as a serene smile spread across her face.
Franky came to join her, he got down on one knee and took out his guitar, while he was no musician he could still carry a tune. He had won the hearts of many a lady with his guitar back on Water 7. All the while he played Robin had paused in her reading. She had locked eyes with him and he felt like a particularly interesting insect under a magnifying glass, the way her brilliant blue eyes pinned him down. Franky continued to play his fingers brushing against the strings as a small smile graced Robin's beautiful face. For a moment it felt like it was just the two of them.
“Lunch time!” Cook-bro's voice snapped them out of the moment, especially when the rubber boy they called a captain got excited at the prospect of food.
“Sanji, meat!” Luffy flung himself across the ship, managing to bump into him and his poor guitar. But at least he got to hear the sweet sound of Robin laughing at their Captain's antics.

Robin sat in the library with the sound of the rain all around her. The drops hitting against the ship were soothing as she spent her afternoon cozy and warm, a soft blanket draped across her legs along with a snoozing Chopper, and a warm cup of coffee steaming beside her. Their newest member, Franky, was sitting at the table in the middle of the room with blue prints of the Sunny strewn across the table and a few books scattered across alongside. The blue haired man had intrigued her since the speech he gave on the sea train.
Robin bloomed a set of eyes to peer over his shoulders, call her nosy if you will but it was a habit that had kept her alive for so long on the run. If she were to hazard a guess, it looked as if Franky was working on improvements to the ship now that she had been sailing. Tweaking it to suit the needs of the crew as they arose.
“You know you could see better if you came over.” Franky remarked, catching sight of her extra eyes.
“Ah but then I would be disturbing our dear doctor from his very important nap.” Robin replied, stocking Chopper's soft fur.
‘I suppose you have a point.” With that Franky turned around in his chair until he was facing her, his large arms braced against the back of the chair. He shot her an amused grin. “Well don't the pair of you look super comfy. Do you have anything you want added to the ship?” He asked her, his sunglasses resting atop his forehead as he cocked one blue brow. His grey-blue eyes stared her down as if she was the most interesting thing he had even seen. As if he wanted to take her apart and figure out how she worked. Robin found herself not minding one bit. “Might as well since I'm already working on improvements.”
Robin hummed thoughtfully, what more could she wish for? She had this lovely library after all, however there was one thing she could think of. “I wouldn't mind more room for my roses.”
“Oh yeah? What kind of roses would you get,” Franky asked her, “And what made you start growing them?”
“I read a book, it was about a vampire who had two loves in her life; her wife, a vampire like herself and her roses. The story went into detail about her beautiful rose garden. How she had been cross breeding them for centuries with other horticulturists, it was a tragic romance, the pair had taken a young boy. A witch who lost his entire family at a young age. Since they could not have children they took him in, as he grew older he fell in love with our rosarian. One day she left for a trip and when came home her wife was dust, the young witch now a man had killed her. Later that night he tried to slip into her bed disguised as the woman's deceased wife. The witch had grown far too powerful, he railed the villagers to burn down her home. So she greeted the sun, abandoning their home and leaving her beloved roses to the fire.”
“That's super sad!” Franky was sobbing, rubbing his eyes with his arm, the man was so expressive she always knew what he was thinking.
“Yes it rather was, Bacarra a Bloody Rose, was a tragic romance filled with lovely gothic imagery.” Robin sighed, placing a hand to her cheek. “I must find it again one of these days. As for roses, I would love to add climbing roses they grow and grow up towards the sky, hybrid tea roses such large roses that grow as a single flower, the tiniest minuter roses, Abraham Darbys with the sweet fruity fragrance and ruffled petals, Black Bacarra they aren't actually black but a deep marron color, they are named after the book.
“Is gothic your favorite type of architecture?” Franky asked.
“Hmm. No, I can't say I have a favorite per se. I do love old things, they have a history to them.”

Franky got to work on his next big project, he spread out the blank blueprints and spun a pencil in his right hand. This was his last chance to woo Robin, he wasn't sure he had anything left to give.
A green house for her roses, the grandlines weather was unpredictable and her roses had suffered from the constant change and he wanted her to have a place to grow them without worry. There were still a few pieces of Adams wood he could use for the frame work, he just needed glass. Maybe he could add a small stained glass window along with a table and chair. A quiet place for her to read and drink coffee.
“I could crave flowers into the legs and the back of the seat along with the top of the table.” He muttered to himself. “A federal oval shape for the back of the chair with roses, and then the legs could be turned and I could add more roses to the square tops.” Franky grinned down at the blueprints as he got started sketching his designs. He'd wait to assemble the green house when Robin left the ship on the next island. Maybe he could even find the book she talked about.

Robin wandered back on to the ship, shopping bags in hand and a paper cup of coffee, the island was a lovely Autumn on a Spring Island, so the weather was perfect. The air cool and crisp with the leaves the horizon a blaze. She had dug out a soft purple sweater and dark brown ankle boots. She had browsed many book stores and found several new books to add to her library. Sadly she almost found a copy of the book she had discussed with Franky. Unfortunately it seemed as if someone had just beat her to it.
Robin closed her eyes and took the sip from her coffee savoring the cinnamon, pumpkin spice, and creamy frosting. She had picked up frosted pumpkin spice cinnamon roll flavored coffee, tomorrow she'd have to go back to try a different flavor before asking their cook to stock up on for her.
“Robin!” Franky's loud voice called her name, Robin found herself smiling as she opened her eyes. Even in this cooler weather Franky was still in a speedo and open shirt. It was a bright green with pumpkins all over it. “I have something super to show you.” His grin was wide and his sparkling with excitement.
Robin laughed, his excitement was infectious. “And what might that be?”
“Here, take my hand and close your eyes, no peeking now.” Franky held out one large hand, she placed her smaller one in his and closed her eyes.
She resisted temptation as he guided her up the stairs, she could feel the autumn breeze brush her hair, here as it rustled the leaves on the trees, she could smell fresh lumber and roses. Had Franky built more flower beds for her? This was still so unusual for her, to have others care about her, not just for what she could do but for who she was. She heard a door open as he led her inside of a warm room.
“Ok, open your eyes.” Robin's eyes fluttered open at the gentle command.
She gasped, they were in a small glass house, it was about eight feet in length with tables, pots, shelves filled with garden tools, Franky had already moved her flower boxes inside and in the middle of the room under a stunning stained glass window was a table and chair with a book resting on top along with a small rose bush still warped up and ready to be planted. Robin ran a hand along the smooth dark wood of the chair with its curved oval design, the back reminded her of a rib cage, she could see all the tiny flowers carved into the wood, the legs were wide with more flowers carved into them. On the chair sat a plum colored cushion, and there on the table was a copy of Bacarra a Bloody Rose, the roses next to where a Bacarra cutting.
“Oh Franky, you did all this for me?” Robin could feel tears prickling at her eyes as she turned to look at the man.
“Robin, I think you're the most beautiful, intelligent and weird woman I have ever met. Would you do me the honor of being my girl?” He held out his hand once again, waiting for her response.
Robin threw herself at him, warping her arms around his neck, he was so tall that her feet no longer touched the ground. “Yes!” Robin kissed him as his hands grabbed her waist keeping her safe in his large hands. She didn't need anyone to protect her but it felt nice. His lips were surprisingly soft against her own, his body pressed against her own felt nice, Franky was warm and solid, safe. When the kiss ended and her feet were on the ground once more Robin took Franky's hand in hers. “You should make a chair for yourself.” She informed him. “Now, where are you going to sit?”
“I can sit on the ground, no biggie.” Franky replied. “I think it would be super if you read your new book out loud.” Robin nodded, she didn't want to part yet either.
“All right.” Robin took her seat and picked up the book, one hand still grasped in Franky's hand as he sat next to her leaning against her legs.
“Chapter one. Bacarra lay tangled up with her wife under the thick heavy duvet, the fire in the hearth cracked and popped keeping her wife warm, Florence was still a young vampire she still missed the warmth of living flesh. Bacarra slowly untangled their limbs when she heard the servants shuffle about in the room. She pulled back the covers before making sure to tuck her wife back in. She opened the heavy drapes that kept them safe from the burning sun. Her servants were quick to place soft slippers upon her bare feet and a silken robe over her silk nightgown.
“My lady.” Thomas handed her a wine glass filled with blood, she could feel her fangs descend brushing against her lower lip. “There are no new invitations for you.”
“Hmm,” She hummed as she licked the blood from her lips. “Then let Florence sleep a little longer.”
Robin's voice filled the small greenhouse; only the sounds of Franky's breathing accompanied her. The quiet stillness was a pleasant reprieve from the rather rambunctious crew they were both a part of.
“Bacarra opened the doors to her greenhouse, her beloved roses gleamed under the moonlight, she knew if she removed her robe that her own skin would glow luminously under the same light.
“Darling, what ever are you doing up?” She asked.
“Hello my beauties.” She cooed brushing her fingertips against their soft petals. Before she met her wife, the roses were her greatest joy in her afterlife. Bacarra began to tend to her roses when half way through she heard a shuffling behind her. She turned to look at her adorable wife, she was still warped in the duvet, her red hair a mess, her face spilt open in a yawn as she rubbed her eyes. Young vampires required more sleep. Bacarra couldn't resist the need to kiss her wife all over her face.
“I missed you, why did you have to leave the bed?” She asked with a pout on her face.
“Well I suppose I could rectify that.” Bacarra scooped Florence up in her arms and carried her off. “
