Non-negotiable means it gets done, regardless of circumstances or conditions.

Something I learned, having done the #75hard challenge (created by Andy Frisella) twice, and currently doing it again.
It takes time for the neural pathways in your brain to become ingrained and the habit to start taking hold.
Challenging yourself to do the habit for 2-3 months straight, no cheat days, gamifies the experience and helps the process along.

The last 2 times I completed the 75 Hard Challenge the habits did not last.
A few months went by, and I started slipping away from those habits.
I believe this happened because, when doing the challenge, I never intended to keep those habits long-term.
Finding the positive change the habits bring my life has helped me change that approach to thinking of the big picture.

The more clear my life's higher purpose becomes, the easier it becomes to manage habits.
If they don't serve my higher purpose, it's nearly impossible to build them, but if they do, it's nearly impossible to turn me away from them.
This concept becomes quite obvious toward the end of The E Myth by Michael Gerber.
After all, life becomes quite the burden without purpose, but have you seen what purpose-driven people can achieve?? ๐
