Dustin and Angela break up in senior year, just before graduation, which is around the same time that he gets pulled up and out of Pleasantview for this weird indie movie where he’s barely even acting. A director showed up out of nowhere to scout for youth who display Authentic Suburban Malaise, and just loved his face and his attitude. So raw. So real. I mean, he plays a moody teenage boy. He plays a moody teenage boy in like, 1997, I guess. But still. A bit of time passes, and the movie’s a hit. He gets an editorial feature in Simterview magazine. He buys Brandi a house that she can put all of her trinkets in. Suddenly there are Dustin Broke stan accounts.
They're saying wild things about him in the tags on Simblr. He’s an indie darling. A rising star. And he’s kinda… messy? The gossip blogs that Angela totally doesn’t compulsively read mention a lot of girls, and a lot of “going out with the boys," and multiday benders. And she’s pretty sure that black eye that he’s sporting on the cover of Simterview is real…
It’s the first Britechester spring break where Angela doesn’t come back to visit her parents in Pleasantview. Guess who does go back to visit, though? Dustin Broke, filming a bunch of cute footage of himself driving around the town he grew up in, just to endear himself to the audiences and critics. (Man, his agent’s good…) When he drives by Angela’s house, he goes, “This is where I had my first kiss.” The guy behind the camera is like, “was it a good one?” and Dustin smiles all wistfully & says, “It was perfect,” and then, “She was perfect– her dad just hated me.”
He looks right into the camera and goes, “Ang, if you’ve still got my number, it hasn’t changed. Call me?”
She won’t lie… it worked on her. So she does call him. And he just… reappears, in what feels like a single press of a button, and everything is super amazing for like, all of spring break. When he picks her up it almost feels like high school all over again. He tells Lilith, “I’ll have her back before curfew,” and laughs when she rolls her eyes.
He drives Angela through the streets of San Myshuno in a really fast car at midnight, windows down, and is grinning ear-to-ear when she lets a little loose. They go to a trashy beach nightclub in Tartosa, and they definitely overindulge a bit in a vacation rental, all on Dustin's dime (his manager's black card).
He even tells her about his next project, one that he really shouldn’t be talking about because he signed an NDA. Some show on streaming where he plays... like... "a really good chef who's stressed as fuck and yells a lot." (his words).
He shared these promotional images with her. Now you get to see them too.
Before Angela knows it, though, she’s back in Britechester, checking her phone. And “Dustin Broke Updates” on Simstagram is saying he was… just… spotted making out with some girl named Vanessa (Venessa????) Jeong at a park in Del Sol Valley…? (And he looks like SUCH an asshole in those sunglasses. A hot one, Angela thinks, but still.)
Angela is good. That doesn’t mean she’s stupid. So she blocks him. (For about 24 hours, until Dustin gets an "I'm sorry" bouquet delivered to Angela's place. Eventually Lilith will learn how to leave it alone when Angela’s blasting that song that goes, “you’ve got that James Dean daydream look in your eye…” in the shower.)
the current storyline i have for these 2 in ts4 is very wattpad vibes it kind of makes me laugh. hate him in the business career and his velveeta hair but kinda liked him famous so i made him an actor & he’s going through his leomania/"pussy posse" era. he got that black eye via the "drunken adventure" you go on if you get too wasted via basemental. i try to keep it very lighthearted though lmao. had to avoid calling his update account "BrokeCrave". thank you @yamachans for the wonderful Simstagram template.
