I still dont quite understand Tumblr yet, so sorry about that:<
You can call me Froggy or Frog Lord if you want. Ill talk about my favorite games, my ocs, my writing, and just random things. My favorite games currently are tokyodebunker, twisted wonderland, and doodle world on roblox:>
So far I've gotten to season 1 episode 10 of tokyodebunker, the start of book 3 in twisted wonderland, and Icyridge in doodle world
@kittyangel666 is my main account where I post my writing, so if you ever get interested go check out my writing
The relationship between the Mortkranken house with Henjin and Kimoi
I'm a firm believer that Yuri kept Henjin's and Kimoi's files and put them in a binder for keeping, but him and Jiro add new information to it so it's not a haunting reminder of their past. It's now filled with medical files, allergies, likes, favorites, that kind of stuff
Is that maybe not how he'd act, possibly but the files on them would help with his research anyway
Ok I know everyone wants the Mortkranken house of the Tokyodebunker ghouls meets my ocs series to be done
BUT I DO COME BEARING GOOD NEWS!🎉
I have the first half of it done, the ghouls meeting them in the lab then leaving. I just need to reread it and edit it so it sounds okay.
So cause I know some people want to read it im wondering if I should post it in 2 parts so you guys have something to read, I can post the first part today, or post it as one whole part which might look nicer but I'd still need some time to finish
May I request Tweels with a younger sibling that happens to have both of their personalities combined. Like chaotic, but also will listen to their brothers. I've seen a lot of fan art with them treating ortho nicely so I wanna know how you think they'd handle a younger sibling, could be nonbinary or female.
Yes of course! I hope you like it!
The Perfect Mix
Combination of: Jade Leech and Floyd Leech

If someone were to ask Azul Ashengrotto what the most difficult part of running a successful business was, they would likely expect a complicated answer involving finances, customer relations, staffing issues, inventory management, or perhaps the exhausting process of keeping Floyd Leech interested in his job for more than three consecutive hours. The answer, however, would be much simpler.
The most difficult part of running Mostro Lounge was allowing all three Leech siblings to occupy the same room.
One Leech was manageable.
Two Leeches were exhausting.
Three Leeches transformed the surrounding area into a disaster zone disguised as a perfectly normal conversation.
The worst part was that you didn't even seem troublesome at first glance.
In fact, most people who met you initially came away with a surprisingly positive impression. Like Jade, you were polite, well-spoken, and capable of carrying on conversations without making the other person feel uncomfortable. Like Floyd, you were friendly, smiling readily and striking up conversations with almost anyone. Teachers liked you. Upperclassmen found you respectful. Even students who normally avoided Octavinelle had very few complaints about you.
For approximately five minutes.
Then they realized you had inherited the most dangerous traits from both of your brothers.
You possessed Jade's ability to cause problems while looking completely innocent.
You possessed Floyd's tendency to do whatever seemed entertaining in the moment.
And somehow, against all logic, you had combined those traits into something arguably worse.
Azul discovered this shortly after your arrival.
"...And then what happened?" he asked slowly.
Across from him, you sat between your brothers at one of the Lounge tables, looking entirely too pleased with yourself.
Jade wore one of his usual pleasant smiles.
Floyd looked like he was barely holding back laughter.
The sight alone was enough to make Azul suspicious.
"There wasn't much of an outcome," Jade replied pleasantly.
He didn’t need clarification to know this story was about to become a problem.
"What happened?"
You immediately brightened.
"There was a mushroom."
"Of course there was."
"And there was a hallway."
"I see."
"And Floyd said if I hid the mushroom in Rook Hunt's bag, he'd give me ten thaumarks."
Azul pinched the bridge of his nose.
"And?"
You looked proud of yourself.
"I negotiated for fifteen. And…I would tell you the rest, but I like not being suspended from here."
For a moment, there was complete silence.
Then Floyd threw his head back and started cackling loudly enough that several customers glanced over.
"See? See? That's my baby sibling right there."
Meanwhile, Jade looked equally pleased, though his amusement manifested itself in the subtle upward curl of his smile rather than open laughter.
Azul briefly contemplated whether it was too late to revoke your visitor privileges.
The truly frustrating thing was that, despite your similarities to your brothers, you were objectively easier to manage than either of them.
Not because you caused fewer problems.
You absolutely did not.
If anything, your combined creativity often resulted in problems nobody had anticipated.
No, the reason you were easier to manage was because unlike Floyd, you occasionally listened when people told you to stop doing something, and unlike Jade, you occasionally felt guilty afterward.
As a result, your brothers had somehow become the only people capable of controlling you.
If Jade calmly informed you that climbing onto dangerous structures was a poor idea, you would usually climb down without argument.
If Floyd told you not to wander around campus alone after dark, you listened.
If both twins agreed on something, you obeyed immediately.
Years of experience had taught you that arguing with one brother was difficult enough.
Arguing with two simultaneously was practically a death wish.
This fact became especially obvious one afternoon when Jade discovered you perched several feet above the floor on an elaborate chandelier hanging from the Lounge ceiling.
Most students would've screamed.
Azul nearly did.
Jade simply looked up from where he stood below and smiled.
"What are you doing?"
You peered over the edge.
"Testing something."
"What exactly are you testing?"
You considered the question carefully.
"The chandelier."
Jade was quiet for several seconds.
Then he sighed.
Not the dangerous sigh.
Not the one that meant he was plotting something.
The I’m-not-mad-I’m-just-disappointed older brother sigh.
The one somehow capable of making you feel guilty despite the fact that you technically hadn't done anything wrong yet.
"Would you mind coming down?"
"Oh."
You immediately began climbing down.
Once your feet touched the floor, Floyd started laughing so hard he nearly fell out of his chair.
"No way. No way. It actually worked."
You blinked.
"What worked?"
"You listened."
You looked genuinely confused.
"Why wouldn't I?"
He just kept laughing.
The twins were surprisingly protective of you as well, though neither would ever admit it openly.
Most people assumed they simply tolerated your presence because you were family, but anyone who paid close attention quickly noticed the difference.
The twins could tease you.
The twins could annoy you.
The twins could make your life difficult whenever they felt bored.
Those were sibling privileges.
Nobody else possessed sibling privileges.
This became abundantly clear whenever someone upset you.
The incident itself was relatively minor.
One student made a rude comment.
Nothing particularly cruel.
Nothing worthy of disciplinary action.
Just an offhand remark about you being annoying.
You didn't care much.
Unfortunately, Floyd did.
You still had no idea how he found out.
One moment you were walking through Octavinelle.
The next moment Floyd appeared beside you.
"...Who was it?"
Immediately, every survival instinct you possessed activated.
"Oh no."
"Who was it?"
"It doesn't matter."
"Who."
"Floyd."
"Who."
Before you could answer, Jade appeared from seemingly nowhere, somehow carrying a tray of drinks despite the fact that he definitely hadn't been there a second earlier.
"Has someone upset our sibling?"
His tone was perfectly pleasant.
That was significantly more concerning than if he'd sounded angry.
You considered your options.
Unfortunately, neither option involved escape.
One Leech stood on your left.
The other stood on your right.
You were trapped.
The student in question survived.
Mostly because you refused to tell your brothers who it was.
You considered that one of your greatest accomplishments.
The side of Jade and Floyd that surprised people most, however, was how gentle they could be with you when they thought nobody was watching.
Most students only saw the intimidating parts of them.
The sharp smiles.
The unsettling comments.
The unpredictability.
The moments that made people instinctively back away.
You saw the versions hidden underneath all of that.
The older brothers.
The ones who checked whether you had eaten.
The ones who remembered your favorite foods.
The ones who quietly made sure nobody bothered you too much.
One evening, after spending most of the day following your brothers around the Lounge, you accidentally fell asleep in one of the booths while waiting for them to finish work.
You hadn't intended to.
The couch was comfortable.
The Lounge was warm.
And before you knew it, exhaustion had won.
Hours later, Azul emerged from his office only to stop in confusion.
You were asleep across one side of a booth, curled beneath a blanket that definitely hadn't been there earlier.
Jade occupied the seat beside you, reading quietly while occasionally adjusting the blanket whenever it slipped.
Across from him, Floyd sat with his head resting against one hand, lazily scrolling through his phone.
Neither twin seemed particularly interested in leaving.
Azul stared.
The twins stared back.
"...What exactly are you doing?"
"Watching our sibling."
"Monitoring."
Azul looked at you.
Then at them.
Then back at you.
The scene was almost disturbingly normal.
No teasing.
No chaos.
No trouble.
Just the two of them quietly making sure you slept comfortably.
Floyd noticed the look on Azul's face immediately.
"Don't say it."
"I wasn't going to."
"You were."
"I absolutely was."
The glare both twins directed at him was identical.
Azul wisely decided not to push his luck.
Perhaps the strangest thing of all was how much you genuinely loved your brothers despite everything.
Despite the constant teasing.
Despite the endless trouble.
Despite the fact that growing up with Floyd and Jade had probably reduced your life expectancy considerably.
Because at the end of the day, they had always been there.
They encouraged your hobbies.
Taught you things nobody else could.
Looked after you in their own strange way.
Made sure you never faced problems alone.
And although they would never say it directly, you knew they cared just as much.

Idk if this is common knowledge and I'm the only person who didn't already know this, but I think every club in TWST represents something that the characters have in common.
The pop music club is made up of those who come off cheerful on the outside to hide their inner turmoil. Kalim, Lilia, and Cater all fit this.
The basketball club is made up of those who are rebellious and do not fit the standards their surroundings set for them. Floyd, Jamil, and Ace are all people who go against the norm.
The board game club is made up of those who will destroy themselves in order to get what they want. Idia and Azul have both sacrificed their own well-beings for their goals.
The equestrian club is made up of those who are strict in themselves, and often times others, as a result of their disciplined upbringings.
The track club is made up of those who give their all to be their best selves.
The spelldrive club is made up of those who strive to be stronger/on top.
The science club is made up of those who are deemed too eccentric to fit in.
The film study club is made up of those who are selfish and therefore misconstrued as cruel, when they actually care deeply for those around them.
The gargoyle study club and mountain hiking club only have solo members because they both represent isolation. Jade is isolated even amongst his peers due to being deemed untrustworthy and having strange hobbies. Malleus is isolated because of his upbringing and his long lifespan.
Maybe this is common knowledge or maybe I'm reaching, but I think the parallels between the club members are all really neat!!
MC from TDBK getting transported to TWST and getting social whiplash.
She has that Google loading logo hovering over her head like "why are these people actually normal what is going on"
She meets Ace and Deuce like "oh, the dynamic duo. Must be like Kaito and Luca."
Two minutes later: "NOT KAITO AND LUCA, WHY ARE THEY TROUBLEMAKERS???"
She meets Cater and is on guard immediately bc of the internet slang, shying away from talking to him bc he reminds her of Leo at first. Soon after she realizes "wait no, that guy is more like Rui. If he wasn't a flirt." And she's fine with him again. She can't really place Trey for a while. At first she thinks maybe Tohma??? Just British and casual. Eventually she lands on "this guy might be like a non-flirty Haku."
Riddle is like, a family-friendly Romeo? Maybe? No, Ritsu? Ritsu with Romeo's attitude. Maybe? She's not completely sure.
Ruggie immediately reminds her of Lyca, purely bc of the ears, before she learns about beastmen and realizes that Ruggie is absolutely nothing like Lyca. He's sorta like Ren? Job-wise? She guesses. Maybe this one actually is just his own person.
Jack is Alan. No question about it. She's 100% sure. Come on, 'scary' gentle giant who's almost entirely deadpan? Just Alan without the occasional bloodlust. Or criminal record.
I think we all know who Leona is. She clocks him as Jin as soon as learns he's rich. She already knew he was lazy. He's just a bitchier Jin, without his few redeeming qualities.
Octavinelle is where she realizes how much different the ghouls are to these guys. She thought Floyd was like Towa for a moment, before meeting the unlucky realization that he's so much more like Taiga. Jade is almost uncomfortably reminiscent of Thoma, and Azul is just a money-hungry Yuri who's all bark no bite. Yuri with a hint of Ritsu, maybe.
Which is exactly when she realizes that the main difference between these guys and the ghouls is how much nicer, flirtier, and more tolerable the ghouls are. Then again, she was warned almost as soon as she arrived that these students were gonna be problematic.
Then again again, the same thing was said about the ghouls.
Jamil is suspicious to her right off the bat. He runs around doing chores and wtv for an unreasonably unconcerned Dormhead, so maybe Rui? He doesn't seem like Rui. And he was too nice compared to everyone else she'd met at NRC so far.
It takes until the whole thing is over for her to place him as a bitchier, less diplomatic Tohma. Partly. He's like 20% that. The rest is ??? As is most NRC students personalities. Kalim is just Haru without all the stress.
Vil is Romeo. No question. Vil is just a more feminine Romeo, which is fucking beautiful to see. Rook is like, a stalker-y Zenji? He's Zenji but creepy. Epel is just Epel. The way he's forced to conform and not be a delinquent for once kinda feels like if Lyca had a shockingly different upbringing.
Idia is... Half Leo, half Ren? Gamer, internet enthusiast, more Ren than Leo. She's not quite sure how to interact with him. Ortho is like a successful Lyca, mixed with Haru's enthusiasm and Rui's adamancy that his other dorm member learn how to interact with people amicably.
Lillia is Ed. (Old and anachronistic.) Malleus is Ed. (Old and anachronistic.) Silver is Ed. (Sleepy.) Sebek is. Towa plus Romeo (obsessed with someone plus bitchy and demanding)
Other than Ed, Malleus is maybe Alan (no tech) and Haku? (Helpful gentleman) And Silver is maybe the closest person there to Luca.
Besides that, though, the most shockingly thing to MC is how much fucking downtime she gets. The closest thing to the constant cases she goes through is the Overblots, and those only happen like once a month. Ergo, she's usually kinda restless.
Uh, anyway I wrote this all during class and I have just been called out so that's all for now. 👋 Bai
Can I request more of the "you owe me" with Subaru, Ren, Leo? Please and thank you:>
Yes of course! I hope you like it!
You Owe Me Pt2

🌸 ————————————————— 🌸
Subaru Kagami:
Subaru expected screaming.
Or crying.
Possibly both.
Because from his perspective, one second you were falling out of thin air directly into the middle of Hotarubi’s courtyard and the next you were staring up at him with wide eyes while he mentally prepared himself for the world’s most difficult explanation.
Instead, the moment you saw him, your entire face lit up.
“Oh my god,” you gasped.
Subaru froze.
“You’re REAL.”
“…I,” Subaru said weakly, “I think so?”
“No way. No actual way.”
Before he could process anything, you grabbed both of his hands excitedly, nearly vibrating in place.
“You’re Subaru Kagami! Like. Subaru Kagami.”
Subaru blinked down at you in complete confusion.
“You know my full name?”
“Obviously I know your full name.”
“…Should I be worried?”
“A little probably.”
Most people transported into a strange supernatural academy would understandably panic.
You, however, looked delighted.
Actually delighted.
You pointed dramatically at him like you’d just won the lottery. “Do you understand how long I’ve been obsessed with you?”
Subaru’s face immediately turned bright pink.
“I— obsessed is a very strong word—”
“You’re my favorite.”
“Oh.”
“Oh” somehow flustered him even worse.
Subaru spent the next twenty minutes attempting to carefully explain Darkwick and anomalies and missions while you nodded along enthusiastically like someone being told information they already memorized from a wiki page three months ago.
Eventually, though, something occurred to you.
Slowly, your expression changed.
Subaru noticed immediately. “Is something wrong?”
“…Wait a minute.”
“…Hm?”
You narrowed your eyes at him.
Subaru looked visibly nervous now.
“You.”
“Me?”
“You made me spend all my diamonds.”
Silence.
Subaru blinked.
“…Your what?”
“My diamonds!” you repeated dramatically. “Your stupid limited banner REFUSED to come home.”
Subaru stared at you like you’d just started speaking ancient prophecy.
“I… don’t know what that means.”
“You have any idea how painful it is to hit hard pity?”
“…Hard… pity?”
“I stayed up until two in the morning grinding missions for you.”
Subaru looked horrified.
“You shouldn’t stay up that late!”
“That’s what you took from this?!”
“I don’t understand the rest of it!”
You crossed your arms accusingly while Subaru panicked harder by the second under the sheer intensity of your betrayal.
“…I’m sorry?” he offered cautiously.
“You should be.”
“I didn’t mean to make you spend your… diamonds?”
“That sounds fake.”
“I don’t know what I’m apologizing for!”
You tried so hard to stay serious.
Really.
But Subaru looked genuinely distressed about apparently ruining your fictional currency economy somehow, and eventually you burst into laughter.
Subaru stared at you helplessly while you wheezed.
“…You’re making fun of me.”
“A little.”
“You accused me of crimes I don’t understand.”
“And yet you still apologized.”
“Well, you looked upset!”
The sincerity in his voice immediately made your chest hurt.
Because of course Subaru would apologize for something completely incomprehensible just because he thought he disappointed you.
“Oh no,” you groaned dramatically, grabbing his sleeve. “You’re even sweeter in person.”
Subaru turned red all over again.
“…What does that mean.”
“It means,” you sighed affectionately, “I’d probably still pull for you again.”
“…I still don’t know what that means.”
“I know, babygirl.”
🐰 —————————————————🐰
Ren Shiranami:
Ren reacted to your arrival exactly how one would expect.
Poorly.
“WHAT THE HELL?!”
You had barely landed in Jabberwock’s lounge before Ren nearly launched himself off the couch in terror, phone clattering onto the floor while he pointed at you like you personally offended him by existing.
Meanwhile you stared at him in stunned silence.
“…Ren?”
“How do you know my name?!”
“Oh my god.”
“What?!”
“You’re prettier in person.”
Ren stopped functioning immediately.
“…Huh?!”
“You are. Like actually unfairly pretty.”
“Wh— stop saying weird stuff!”
You grinned so hard your face hurt while Ren continued staring at you suspiciously like a frightened stray cat.
Most people would probably be alarmed after getting isekai’d into their favorite game.
You, however, had bigger priorities.
“Wait,” you gasped suddenly. “Does this mean Haru’s real too?”
“…Unfortunately.”
“And Towa?!”
“…Yeah?”
“Oh this is the greatest day of my life.”
Ren looked deeply concerned.
“You’re taking this weirdly well.”
“You don’t understand,” you said emotionally, grabbing his shoulders. “I KNOW your lore.”
“My what?”
“Your trauma.”
“…My WHAT?”
Ren looked one sentence away from unplugging himself from reality entirely.
Still, despite his confusion, he eventually relaxed around you after realizing you apparently weren’t dangerous. Just insane.
The two of you ended up sprawled across the lounge together while you asked increasingly concerningly specific questions about Darkwick.
Then suddenly, mid-conversation, you narrowed your eyes at him.
Ren immediately looked nervous again. “…Why are you staring at me like that?”
“…You made me lose the fifty-fifty.”
“…The what?”
“You refused to come home.”
Ren blinked slowly.
“I’m literally sitting right here.”
“Not in the game you weren’t!”
“…Game?”
“You dodged me for THREE banners.”
Ren stared at you in complete bewilderment while you pointed accusingly at his chest.
“I spent everything on you.”
“…Why?”
“Because I liked you!”
“That sounds like a bad financial decision.”
“You’re lucky you’re cute.”
Ren made a strangled noise somewhere between embarrassment and confusion.
“I genuinely have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“You hurt me emotionally.”
“I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING.”
“You absolutely did.”
Ren groaned and buried his face into his hands while you continued fake glaring at him dramatically.
“…Okay,” he muttered finally. “Uh. Sorry?”
“That sounded pathetic.”
“Because I don’t know the crime!”
You laughed immediately.
Ren looked up cautiously.
Then, after realizing you weren’t actually upset, he relaxed enough to grumble under his breath.
“…You’re weird.”
“And yet you like me already.”
“…Shut up.”
The fact that he couldn’t deny it made you grin even harder.
⛓️ —————————————————⛓️
Leo Kurosagi:
Leo’s first reaction to you appearing in front of him was not fear.
It was suspicion.
“You’re either an anomaly or a stalker.”
“Both emotionally.”
“…What does that mean.”
You stared at him in complete awe while Leo looked increasingly uncomfortable beneath the intensity of your excitement.
Because there he was.
Your favorite insufferable little internet menace.
Actually real.
“Oh my god,” you whispered. “The hair is real.”
Leo blinked.
“…Obviously it’s real.”
“You’re so pretty.”
“Okay, now you’re definitely weird.”
“You have no idea.”
Leo should’ve been more alarmed by how easily you adapted to Darkwick.
Instead he found himself fascinated.
You talked to everyone like you already knew them. Finished Leo’s sentences accidentally. Predicted his sarcastic comments before he said them. At one point you casually informed him he had abandonment issues and Leo nearly dropped his phone into a fountain.
“How the hell do you know that?”
“I know everything about you.”
“…That is the least comforting sentence you could’ve said.”
Still, he kept hanging around you anyway.
Partly because you entertained him. Mostly because he liked the way your face brightened every time you looked at him, like meeting him genuinely mattered to you.
Then one evening, while Leo was lounging across your bed scrolling through WickChat, you suddenly looked at him with betrayal.
“…You owe me money.”
Leo looked up immediately. “Excuse me?”
“You made me hit hard pity twice.”
“…Are you having a stroke?”
“You refused to come home.”
“I’m literally in this room.”
“IN THE GACHA, LEO.”
“The what?”
“The gacha!”
“Oh…we have something like that too.” He shrugged, turning his attention back to his phone.
You sat upright dramatically. “Do you understand how many diamonds you cost me?”
Leo stared blankly.
Then slowly lowered his phone.
“…You spent money trying to get me?”
“YES.”
“…That’s kinda flattering.”
“It wasn’t supposed to be!”
Leo burst out laughing immediately while you pointed accusingly at him.
“You ruined my savings.”
“Sounds like a skill issue, MC.”
“LEO.”
“What? You’re the one gambling for anime boys.”
“You ARE the anime boy!”
“Yeah,” he said smugly, brushing imaginary dust off his shoulder. “A rare one apparently.”
You groaned loudly while Leo continued laughing at your suffering.
Then suddenly, still grinning, he leaned closer toward you.
“…So lemme get this straight,” he murmured. “You liked me enough to spend actual currency trying to get me?”
Your face warmed instantly.
“That sounds worse out loud.”
Leo’s expression softened for just a second beneath all the smug amusement.
Hi it's me again, im the one who requested the stars one, I got another idea, a little weirder.
What if mc and the ghouls got trapped in a liminal space anomaly and the only way out is to find the exit door, but it creates a liminal space appeasing to both people making them want to stay forever. The anomaly is a door shaped making the only way in and out through a door. May I request Subaru, Alan, Haku, Haru, Ren
NGL I try not to do rqs from the same person too close together - but I love doing the ones with anomalies!!!! 💖💖💖 That's why I love the "because I love you" one since I get to write an anomaly and have a dramatic flair to it~ so absolutely ~ I kinda forgot abt the minimal space part and just made it idealism at max
Warnings: light angst, Domestic💖, ALAN BACKSTORY SPOILERS, wish fulfillment, romantic - all of them, not proofread, half written half hc, Subaru, Alan, Haku, Haru and Ren x reader , and it's still long omg 😵💫
The world had all but shifted around you, hand in hand with your favourite ghoul as your feet slammed so hard against the ground it felt like each step was moving through you. Colors constantly shifted around you, rooms stairs went up when they should have gone down and sideways when they went up. Room after room, his grip tightened perceptibly around your hand, working to slam doors, open others and hear the world's most piercing screech to the crux of your brain.
Maybe it was your fault, you let go first after all, trying desperately to cover your ears. The ringing started small, just a nag at best but now it was piercing, practically slamming stakes through your mind until you couldn't see past a centimeter in front of you.
The world quickly blurred - hearing what you thought was the ghoul calling out your name like a last stitch effort before everything went white...
Consciousness was a lag behind reality, his head still rang out in that ear piercing sound. Holding his head as he sat up, the world barely came into a glossy view - fogged at the edges as if a movie had taken over his world. Shifting his head from one angle to the next, the place built out in front of him came into view as the ringing subsided. The soft plush of silken sheets, the rustle of you turning onto your side beside him and a ring glinting on his finger.
The walls were lined with wedding photos just above his - your - our? Bed. A photo with his groomsmen rested on your shared dresser, Lyca, clearly free and excited with an arm thrown around his shoulders and the biggest smile he's ever seen.
Yet somehow he knew. Something was very wrong... But ... How? Things shouldn't be bad two years into marriage.
A long sigh parted his lips, shaking his head softly, watching you turn over and grumbling about not waking up just yet. Earning a slightly cruel smile on his face, reaching out his arms and wrapping them around your waist to yank you back into him with a couple soft kisses on your nape.
"Not even if I kiss you awake?"
"... My mind could be changed."
Your house was a middling size, with rooms that clearly catered more to your style than his yet somehow was the perfect combination of the both of you
Your favourite mug left out on the counter after last night, your neighbors - a lovely mermaid and human, came over for a small dinner party with Subaru worrying about every little detail extra
Like is it insensitive to make fish for a mermaid? Or is it just culturally appropriate? He wound up being too embarrassed to ask...
Work loomed over his head, knowing tomorrow he'd have to spend time away from his perfect spouse just to appease Darkwick...
But nothing comes for free when your dream is on the line, in order to keep all of these anomalies out and about and thriving in this cute little society, he'd have to keep up his work as an agent
At least this way he stayed low and out of the line light... Most people had gotten about him by now
And you'd be going back out of the bubble just on the outskirts of the place you used to live in... Even if it just was for 8 hours or so, he dreaded any moment you'd be out of his hands again
But at least you had your freedom, thanks to your darkwick education and the prestigious name behind it, you were able to get your dream job~
And staying with him - married to a ghoul - meant you didn't have to get your memory wiped!
Nothing seemed better, just a casual, nice domestic life in a corned off little community where anomalies and humans could test living together
If everyone could just prove they could handle it - he'd pave the reasonable way forward for human and anomaly living!
Breakfast was perfect - somehow even missing ingredients led to fun improvising with you and so many giggles that made him feel warm
You were in your hobby room at about noon when he interrupted, kissing your cheek and asking for updates on what you were doing
Even as you ranted, every word sounded like magic, practically pure dopamine sent right to his brain
... It was dinner that something felt ... Like he was sim... Told to go sit down at the table while you managed to contact your favorite biker to get a recipe
...
Clarity slowly started to seep in, it had taken a moment after the initial wave but that ringing was still hitting the back of his head. At least enough to wake him up. Anytime he felt he could hear it. It was more like he was being a dog-controlled in an easy little dollhouse.
Looking at you with a slightly perplexed expression while you whipped around, beaming at him as you waved around the recipe on your phone with text that looked streaked - letters that weren't real.
Nothing ever truly went his way. Let alone getting to hold your hand, to wake up with you every day, to be the only one you smiled for - you accepting every single one of his flaws like it was feature
but he still just ... Smiled at you. Giving a soft laugh of pride. It was the wrong decision, he knew that, he knew that so deep down in his gut
Call him selfish all you want, he would admit to it any day of the week, but he needed this. Just one day, one magical day where he could be with you, where everything just revolved around the both of you...
Was it truly so wrong to pretend for a day?
He wouldn't let things go too far, if you were being puppeteered too then it wasn't fair...
But you kissed him before he could stop it, your memories wracking through his brain - everything you were seeing the exact same as him. The true euphoria of waking up next to him and the way you were glancing at your phone when you two weren't together...
And finally he saw your moment of clarity, when your friends and family were acting too ideal, the things that they said made no real sense to who they truly were, but they were things that would make you happy.
So you were both - ...
"... We have to get out of here ..." Subaru tapped his fingers against your dinner table.
"... Do we?" You questioned, looking around your house, "I don't have a curse... I don't have to worry about anything..."
"who knows what it's doing to us in real time..."
"I'm going to die anyways. What does it matter?"
"And you could survive if we can capture it." He argued, refusing to let you give up on yourself too soon.
It's a brief argument, full of no real heat, but just two passionate people who realized how much the other is meant to them, people who want a good end for themselves, a good end to be with each other
It's desperate, sure, but who could really blame you?
You finally concede, admitting that maybe we should go and look for this thing, but if we can't find it tonight then we just won't find it.
Subaru agrees, even if he truly wasn't going to live up to that promise.
The city every time that you two left your house was empty, it felt like there was nobody there. Even through all the perfections of a world that you two would love to live in,
There was no friends, your neighbors didn't answer their doors, all the indoor lights were always out
It didn't matter.
It wouldn't matter how many days you two were here, how many times you'd relive the same perfect day or how many clarities you would go through, he would take you out every night until we found the anomaly and got back to safety...
Thing in his ears was so Stark and entirely mind-numbing that Alan sat there with his head in his hands. Both hands covered his eyes and two thumbs pressed against his temples trying to hold himself together, he had to hold himself together. What if something was happening to you? How could he sit here wincing from a headache when you needed him?
Groaning to himself the moment his headache started to let up, just enough for him to rip his hands away from his face. Jaw tightened as he forced himself to his feet, every nerve ending feeling like pins and needles that he pushed through anyways. Stumbling forward at first, turning into a hard run.
Where were you - where was his -
Ngh...
"There you are!" The warmth of your voice nearly catches him off guard
There you are, smiling wide and expectantly at him from across the aisle with an actual cart in hand versus him just using the bulk length of his arms to carry everything
Blinking at you once - twice - then a third time before his mind came around to reality, he huffed in relief
Losing you while grocery shopping? Yeah. Not exactly prime boyfriend behavior.
Placing all the items he had in mind for dinner in your little basket before taking it from your hands
You decided the best use for your hand was to put it in his, something he still blushed about even 2 years after graduation.... Your graduation, not his
Though it felt like forever since they fixed your curse - since Vagastrom won the Laurel crown ...
None of that was about any damn Crown, he could have cared less about a goddamn crown. It was about saving you, you were the most precious thing in the world and he had to keep you safe... At first he thought safe might be being away from him
But he was proven dangerously wrong the day you called him your hero and made the bold move to ask him out instead
Making a wonderful conversation down the aisles, complaining about the usual things like food prices, or debating on what you guys should get for dessert
The moment he comments about cutting back on dessert to watch his figure you give him that side long glance... And put his favourite in the basket
Alan, the good boy he is, doesn't argue
Happy partner, happy life, right?
Heading out of the almost unordinarily vacant supermarket without paying- something he recalled doing but... Doesn't remember having any money on him ...
He took you back to the car and the two of you headed back home to your modest apartment
Easily greeted by the soft jingle of Mittens running to greet you at high speed, meowing loudly at your feet for attention
She always did like you better...
"My fur baby!" You exclaimed, picking her up with a big smile and all he could do was pat your head
It was hardly something he deserved... A life like this... But somehow he'd come around to stop questioning it, at least for now and just let himself enjoy.
It was hard to say what he ever thought a relationship should look like, he'd always seen what a good man is like, but love with you had come so easily.
Though sometimes you'd tease him about marriage being right around the corner, you didn't seem to mind the snails pace he'd held onto, turning proposing to you into his 5 year plan
It was no surprise it's what he thought of while you adored his - your - ... Mittens.
Part way through cooking the comforting sound of your laugh broke through, probably one of those 'so bad it's good' shows you had insisted to him existed but he didn't seem to find amusing
Still he'd watch them with you every time without complaint... So long as you still watched his dumb action car flicks.
He'd be the first to admit they're silly, they don't make sense and real life doesn't work like that ... But... What's a little fun here and there?
You'd argue your films were the same and he'd always just nod at you like he agreed... It didn't matter. He'd do anything to make you happy.
Thankfully, you were, laughing to yourself on the couch like something was truly funny giving him the warmth in his heart he'd always thought would be illusive
You made it all so simple
"... Your dad-"
Huh-
He could have sworn he heard your voice, you said something about... But that doesn't...
"... My dad?"
"he's coming over tomorrow, isn't he?" there was an awkwardness in your voice, almost as if you said something that you shouldn't have said or rather expected him to know
"No." He stated before the ringing could start again.
Start again?
The ringing -
Perhaps the anomaly didn't realize the barrier it had crossed, the lines in his ideal life that could never be recreated
The feeling it brought to his chest, that still white hot fury
It wanted to parade around a corpse just to make him stay - give him all he's ever wanted just to make him subservient, this stupid thing was no better than the school
Cover up what it wants to, show off what it doesn't, hide like a pathetic child so he couldn't smash it to pieces
"... Honor roll." Calling out to you without the usual affection in his tone that he seemed to reserve for just you, you looked at him funny so he said something weird.
Didn't know what to tell you, he didn't know how to tell you...
He could see reality dawning in your eyes but - then there was the questioning. The what? Why? When? How?
So you weren't just a wonderful ideal of his imagination... You were in this too. Really were in this.
It left him with a lot of questions, is this really something that you would want?
Is this the life that you saw yourself having or was it just the compromised life that shaped to his ideal - or you were seeing something entirely different in yours, did you just so happen to meet in the middle? Or did you get you at the right time?
The question seemed important but getting out of here seemed more so, knowing the imperative nature of your situation, his eyebrows narrowed slightly
"We should go."
"Go where - what do we even do?!"
"dunno. I'll figure it out." Reaching out his hand as he stood at your front door, "Don't make me go alone."
You stared at him as though he had 5 heads, looking down at Mittens and back up at him over the bar styled counter top of your supposed apartment
His hand was an escape - a hard one - one that took you away from the freeing of your curse, the safety of living a simple life with a man who adored your every breath
And he wanted you just to leave it...?
Staring at him, you swallow hard, making your choice very clear
"[YN]!!" Haru called out - trying to make his voice work past the broken syllables and endless screeching in his head. His hands weren't used to cover his own ears, but the ears of the pet beneath him. Try as he might, the ringing came over him - a harsh cry tore through his throat as he purposefully crumpled backward to avoid crushing poor Peekaboo.
The ache started, enough to force his eyes open, only to shove them closed at the bright light of day. The ringing didn't stop, making his body lurch forward and hold the ground. Everything felt like it was moving at the same time that he was sitting completely. Still. It was all wobbling beneath his hands like everything was ever changing
But then it ... Stopped... The inky blackness taking over his entire body.
Warm rays brushed across his face, warming his face until light filtered in past his eyelids
A groan of annoyance escaping his lips, the undying the want to roll over just as he had years prior not lost on him
But the willpower somehow made it out above it all, barely shifting himself awake with a begrudging movement.
His legs ached, making his body complain once again
The soft expanse of your hair against the pillow next to him a welcome sight he'd steadily gotten used to.
Used to?
Yeah. Yeah ... Of course he did.
Leaning over your back, pressing a quick kiss on your cheek for the morning, pulling himself out of your shared bed. Putting his fixed arm on for the day (thanks Mio 🙏) and heading downstairs without waking you
Haru smiled to himself, glancing out the ranch style window to the large expansive field with the sun cascading over every blade making it look brighter than he usually remembered
No Towa, no Ren, but most certainly a big ol' Peekaboo happily lazing around outside. No need for him to feed him every day anymore and able to fend for himself
The anomalous sheep dog happily running between his legs as he made a simple breakfast for the two of you and placed his special food in a bowl, freshly made for him
Haru chided the "puppy", saying he was so lucky that he put in so much effort for him
Though before Jabberwock was his sentence, he'd gotten so used to it and enjoyed the constant bustle and fulfilling work of taking care of animals that it was hard to be away from after he graduated
And guess who had just the position + lodgings for freeeee so long as he worked?
✨Darkwick✨
He couldn't help himself. The money was good and its all that he needed, just had to pay for hydro and decor but ... How could he refuse?
These awful people were pretty good at giving him exactly what he wanted and he knew it was just playing into their palm... but who else took care of these creatures well?
He still dreamed of getting out of this one day, but for now this is exactly where he pictured both of you at this point in your lives
Warm arms slid around his waist - startling him from his thoughts and shooting his head over his shoulder to see your head nuzzling into the soft crook of his shoulder and neck
His lips finding your head with a big smile and a soft nuzzle of his cheek into your head
"mornin' moonshine~"
"mmm... Sunshine..." You murmured tiredly, rubbing over his stomach with your left hand glinting under the sunlight
Savings did allow him to do a lot for the animals ... But also a very good proposal ring for you
Exactly what you asked for - he knew he wasn't slick and wanted it to be exactly what you wanted without any sadness in your eyes
Getting engaged was a discussion - marriage never really seemed like something he was fully capable of. There was that constant worry that he couldn't keep himself together and didn't want you to be the one picking up the pieces
Over time he's gotten a lot more use to relying on you, it's not been an easy journey, especially when he's used to such incompetent people around him, but you are always there to help him with only the complaint that you're tired
"surprised you can walk so quiet, you're always groanin' about waking up so early," another soft jab that you seemed to ignore in lieu of holding him tighter
After a tired breakfast, he was already out dashing around until you were ready to help, he never insisted on it but you decided to stick around until you figured out what you wanted to do
With the strings you had now - basically any career was open to you
But for now helping Haru was enough
At least he thought so
But there was a lot of harsh thinking lately, stuff that made his brain feel itchy in a place he could never quite get to...
That constant static that built up in his mind
The anomalous door not bothering to hide its presence in the mostly vacant fields just past your ranch style home
Sitting on the horizon like a monolith
He knew what it meant, Haru always knew what it meant
It's been about two days now.
He's sure you know. Of course you know. You're not stupid. You're so smart, amazing and intelligent
You're the only other person here, the only real thing that isn't slightly smudged around the edges, you're very real
He has a life, a bunch of responsibilities to get back to, a world just outside that door should be take it
But you haven't said you wanted to leave
... And quite frankly, he's not sure if he's ready to give up the dopamine rush
A world where all his hard work has paid off, where he has you in his arms with the ring he knows you deserve and without a curse you don't, a world so ideal it hurts
"just one more day... I'll be bored by then." He assures himself one final time
Gritting his teeth so hard they squeaked, Haku refused to release your hand. Exponentially tightening his grip on it as though he worried you'd disappear from his grasp. Fighting against his instinct to simply grasp at his head and let you go completely, he had been in too many of these situations alone to know that letting you go could mean not seeing it again. Haku wasn't about to live in that kind of reality. Not if he could help it.
Even as the world turned into tinted glass around him, frosted at all the edges and hard to make out, he didn't let you go for a second.
Haku's head ached, bright, biting and binding, keeping him blinking through the bleariness
It took him much longer than the others to adjust, while you were already dragging him along through things half created behind his eyes all he could manage to focus on was your joined hands
It wasn't his first rodeo with an anomaly of this nature
All consuming and ever changing
If anything, he was more interested to see what it would generate for you two
What kind of world would be your shared ideal
That was the final fully cognitive thought he had before it was wiped clean and the fake past seeped into his bones as though he'd been living it for years
Walking along the empty streets of what still sounded like a bustling city but had no real evidence of it, all the cars were honking and trains were ringing but none of them had a soul in sight
Walking home, apparently, where you two lived together in a simple apartment building - nothing too fancy and nothing they screamed darkwick puppet either
No family influence
No agents either.
So the school still sought to keep him under their thumb, somehow he had managed to get away from it all, living a simple albeit average life with you at his side. Nothing super committed - no marriage, no rain, but as partners
He didn't see the point in getting married without figuring yourselves out just yet, even an engagement when you were still so subject to change felt wrong
But opening this door with you felt right
The apartment was so perfect a mix of the two of you - your couch, his tv, your table, his chairs - everything culminated into ours
A picture of you two occasionally hung up with wards at the front door to keep more annoying anomalies out of the space but still allowed some occasional ghosts in that you both enjoyed
Even if the biwa being played so late was annoying at times
People often remarked at him about wasting his gift, but sitting on the couch with your legs thrown over his lap made it hard to say he did
Every internal regret Haku thought he might have about this world, this life, the shared dinners and the perfectly average yet uneventful by comparison life never truly bothered him
How could it when you let him sleep in as much as he wanted on weekends, let him get lazy and curl into your hand when you pet his hair like a cat
The house chores were a little annoying, but he'd always agree with a simple 'yes your Highness' and a drawn out sigh
He'd started to explore things for himself too, feeling so stable had its perks
Did you know he would like scrap booking? Neither did he. But somehow gluing down ghosts photos to paper and making a huge thing out of them amused him in the same easy way it comforted him
Which is probably why you have framed photos around the apartment of his favorite phone photos
Though eating dinner beside you felt weird - like he was playing pretend, putting food in his mouth and objectively tasting the best version of what you made for him but not quite feeling it in his mouth
Slowly coming back around to the reality that this was ... Fake.
Instead of immediately pushing it on you and snapping you awake, he leaned his head against his hand, staring at you nearly dreamily over the table
"Would you ever leave this life?"
You looked at him, blinking in confusion - so utterly jarred by the question that you gave him a confused smile
"Uhhh no - why would I?"
"not even if you could pick someone else and live in a flawed reality?"
"Haku, you know I would never pick anyone else." Your words were adoring but firm, the only one for you was him. No matter how much of royalty and how many looks he claimed you received, you would only ever look his way
The words hit him like a punch to the face, smiling in an almost uncharacteristic awkward expression that didn't suit him at all
"... Wouldn't a flawed reality be better?"
You were confused now. Flawed reality?
Even if he dragged you kicking and screaming to the door, it wouldn't let you out unless you gave in of your own volition... he didn't want to shatter it.
Hell, it would be easy to just have your needs taken care of by an anomaly and you could live the rest of your final year in peace, that blissful happiness until the reality took you away from him...
But he has things to do, deadlines to meet and as lovely as this rom com is, he's not leaving until you wake up from it
The door wouldn't be hard to find, he knew where it had to be, exactly where you came in from... When you led him home
"nothing will ever be quite this perfect. I doubt we'll get away from all the things chasing us." There was a doubt you'd even make it there, considering..m your curse, "but we could try."
"... Try what?"
"to make this happen. Wouldn't that be nice?"
Despite all of Ren's caveats, you were the one thing that turned his weaknesses on their heads. Arms wrapped tightly around your middle, a sudden desperation to shield you from harm as it came over him in a harsh wave. The ringing bringing him to his knees - forcing his hands to free from you but the press of his body didn't dare leave yours.
A constant nagging even in his disoriented brain feeling like it was going to pop behind his eyes kept screaming to keep you close. You could die on his watch and how could he ever live with himself if that happened? The idea of losing you sank down to the pit of his stomach, pushing through the fog even as the world whited out around him. Eyes rolling back as the fight fell away from his body- your warmth seeping through him until the last second.
Ugh...
Ren held his head with a loud whiney groan that hurt his throat to let out
The ringing he swore he heard just a moment again had entirely dissolved
Leaving he already ornery man with a massive headache...
The ... Ringing?
...
Lifting his head up from the table too fast - the world spun around him, forcing his body to collide with the chair, the leather squeaking as he rolled down it
The unfamiliar ringing of the end of whatever movie had put on his one monitor quickly closed out of while his mobile-computer game hybrid was idle animation-ing at him on the other.
The calm song of the entry village bringing him home through the windswept city, it must have lulled him to sleep... At least before that shitty b movie ended
Lightly knocking the chair beside him with the arm rest of his - there you were, huddled so close to him in a ball with your blanket all wrapped around you snugly
But you were making 1 cardinal sin that you wouldn't live down
Drool pooled out of the corner of your mouth, head tilted to the side he favored and though on anyone else it would have been called ugly in an instant, with you he found it cute ... In a gross way.
Click.
New contact photo - mmm but did it really best the photo he got of you mid sneeze??? Nah...
Still, it's going in the album.
Swiping away to do his dailies - the time of 12:56 was blaring at him cruelly, ugh, soon he'd have to sit back in another shitty ass meeting but whatever
It was a cushy job and while he certainly shouldn't complain, he did, every chance he got
It was online, low effort, high reward and honestly he has managed to automate a lot of the process out of necessity to work smarter not harder and give him time to be paid while doing literally nothing
Though he'd much rather be a stay at home house husband who did literally nothing, you made it very clear he would have to actually do shit if he stayed home all day and at least he could say he worked to bring an income into the apartment
Besides... The husband part of house husband was going to take some time
Even if he was more than comfortable with you in his daily life, eating his food, sharing his lifestyle and slowly caring about your hobbies as much as you did - not that he'd admit that
I mean ... 5 years is a long time together ... But what if you got bored of him?
Then you just have to go through a lengthy divorce process and have to divide up all the assets, he didn't want to even think about how quickly you would get everything and he would be left alone with just this mess of a man that he was.
And the sad reality that you were the only thing that filled his life with any kind of meaning...
If you were gone, if he gave you a chance to leave and you weren't tied down to him then he could at least pretend he wasn't that attached...
But if you left and you were married or even engaged then there was physical proof tying him to you, there was no amount of allegations or allegedlys that could get him out of the obvious
Though sharing a bed, sharing a room, overindulging in your hobbies while sharing his was no doubt already evidence enough... He'd at least pretend to deny it.
You had woken up at some point mid thought, lazily putting your head on his shoulder - desiring the attention that he would give only you
His eyes slightly softening in the corners while he rubbed your hair absently without the usual startled cry of you getting his attention
"someone's needy." His voice a half complaint that held no weight
"So give me what I want and maybe I'll leave you alone."
"... Ugh. Saying stuff like that is romcom level harassment." He sneered... But his hand didn't leave your hair
Even through his meeting, thankfully only needed over voice since his "camera was having troubles" he let you curl up on him like a cat
Your room still half a mess that neither of you cleaned up as he walked around to stretch his legs and tend to the fishtank - it was his turn this week - in the living room while you spread out on the bed like royalty
The front door of your apartment echoed at him - that harsh buzz going right to his chest
Yeah yeah
He understood the fucking deal, okay, you didn't have to keep reminding him
And all his cowardice, he didn't even bother to bring it up to you.
Trying to excuse it as a constant reminder that you knew- you had to know... You were always smarter than him and 10 times more clever
Even he knew that was a pathetic excuse, just another avoidance tactic to avoid having the hard conversation of should we leave- do you want to leave? Is this even something that you wanted or were you just another figment of his imagination that seemed to make him happy?
That reality he didn't want to confront. The what if you weren't real and don't want him tasting so bitter on his tongue that he didn't want to accept it
Here his dad was happy for him and mostly left him alone until he didn't want him to, here you were doing exactly what you wanted and your life wasn't ending every other day, here everything - ...
Everything was easy.
Even when he complained, it was easy, everything worked out, everything made you smile, everything made him happy
... Happy.
Do you understand how fucking miserable it is to try and achieve happiness? How much fighting he would have to continue to get through just to wind up of the other side? To get you both here?
Boldly assuming you even wanna get here with him?
You don't even have noisy neighbors, you have nothing bad going on, nothing to gossip at, only unless he wants it to be and sometimes only the doll sounds of traffic when you decide to open a window or two
If you know and you want to go - fine. We'll go.
Begrudgingly.
But we'll go.
Until then ... He's not moving an inch past comfort. Past every gacha roll coming in good. Past the warmth of your body against his in the dead of night when he least deserves it with a stupid movie he hate loves to death somehow always more stupid than the last while watching you get everything you wanted.

Jin Kamurai:
Jin discovered your horrific singing voice entirely by accident.
You had assumed he was asleep.
The piano room in Frostheim was empty except for you, moonlight pouring silver across polished black keys while you spun lazily across the floor in socked feet, humming loudly and incorrectly to a song you barely remembered the lyrics to. Your timing was atrocious. Your pitch wandered aimlessly. At one point you forgot half the chorus and replaced it with confident nonsense syllables instead.
But you looked happy.
That was the problem.
Jin had originally intended to tell you to shut the fuck up from the doorway.
Instead he stayed there silently, arms crossed as he watched you dramatically point at imaginary crowds while singing completely off-key with the biggest grin he’d seen all week.
Then you reached the piano.
And despite possessing approximately zero musical talent, you hit a random key with the confidence of someone performing in a sold-out concert hall.
Jin snorted.
You froze instantly.
Slowly, horrified, you turned toward the doorway.
“…How long have you been standing there?”
“Long enough.”
“Oh my god.”
You immediately covered your face while Jin walked into the room looking unbearably smug.
“That was painful to listen to.”
“You were supposed to be asleep.”
“And miss this?” Jin sat down at the piano bench casually. “No chance.”
“I’m leaving forever.”
“Sit down.”
You peeked at him through your fingers suspiciously. “Why?”
Instead of answering, Jin cracked his knuckles lightly and pressed his fingers to the piano keys.
Then he started playing your song.
Beautifully.
Warm, rich notes filled the room effortlessly while you stared at him in complete shock.
“You know this song?”
“I know a lotta things.” Jin glanced sideways at you. “You gonna keep standing there or sing?”
“I literally sound awful.”
“Yeah,” he said easily. “So?”
Your face warmed immediately.
Because he said it so simply. No mockery. No embarrassment. Just straightforward acceptance, like your terrible singing voice genuinely didn’t matter to him at all.
“…You’re serious?”
Jin rolled his eyes. “C’mon. I’m not playing accompaniment for anybody.”
A laugh escaped you before you could stop it.
Then, slowly, shyly, you started singing again.
Still off-key.
Still missing half the words.
But this time Jin played along beside you, adjusting instinctively whenever you lost rhythm, smirking every time you got dramatically louder during the chorus. Eventually you started dancing again too, grabbing his wrist halfway through the song and trying to pull him away from the piano.
“The hell are you doing?”
“Dance with me.”
“I’m playing.”
“You can do both.”
“I absolutely cannot.”
“You’re talented, Jin. Believe in yourself.”
He barked out a laugh despite himself as you continued trying to drag him away from the bench.
Eventually he gave in with a muttered curse, letting you spin him clumsily around the empty music room while both of you dissolved into laughter halfway through the song.
And honestly?
Jin couldn’t remember the last time music had felt this fun.

Romeo Scorpius Lucci:
Romeo discovered your “performances” through blackmail.
Specifically, someone accidentally mentioning that you liked singing alone when you thought nobody could hear you.
Romeo immediately became insufferable about it.
“BB,” he drawled later that evening while sprawled dramatically across your bed, “I heard a rumor.”
“No.”
“You don’t even know what I’m gonna say.”
“You’re gonna embarrass me somehow.”
“Correct.” Romeo grinned wickedly. “Now sing for me.”
Absolutely not.
You refused immediately.
Then Romeo offered money.
You refused harder.
Then he offered designer accessories.
Still no.
Eventually he narrowed his eyes suspiciously. “Are you secretly good or something?”
You burst into laughter.
And somehow that made him even more determined.
Three days later, Romeo dragged you onto an empty auditorium stage under the excuse of “testing acoustics.”
“Romeo,” you said slowly, already suspicious, “why are there spotlights on?”
“For ambiance.”
“You set up ambiance?”
“You wound me, BB. I’m a visionary.”
“You’re insane.”
“Probably.”
Before you could escape, music suddenly blasted through the speakers.
You stared at him in betrayal.
Romeo pointed dramatically toward center stage. “Perform.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“I can’t sing.”
“I know.”
“…Then why are we here?!”
“Because it’s funny.”
You glared at him while Romeo lounged lazily in the front row seats like a rich villain funding community theater.
Eventually, after enough dramatic booing from him, you gave in.
The moment you started singing, Romeo nearly choked laughing.
Not because you sounded terrible exactly—though your pitch was questionable at best—but because you sang with such ridiculous confidence despite it. You pointed at imaginary audiences. You danced across the stage dramatically. You committed fully to every terrible note.
And somewhere halfway through the second song, Romeo stopped laughing.
Because you looked radiant.
There was something weirdly mesmerizing about watching someone enjoy themselves that openly without shame.
When you reached the chorus again, Romeo suddenly stood from his seat.
“…What are you doing?”
“Your backup dancer sucks,” he informed you. “Move.”
Then he climbed onto the stage himself.
You stared at him in disbelief while Romeo immediately started performing with the confidence of someone born specifically for attention, dramatically lip-syncing beside you while grabbing your hand to spin you around under the stage lights.
You laughed so hard you completely lost the melody.
Romeo grinned.
“There’s my star.”
“Oh my god, you’re ridiculous.”
“And yet you’re having fun.”
Unfortunately, he was right.
By the end of the night both of you were breathless from laughing, collapsed together center stage while the speakers still played softly overhead.
Romeo glanced sideways at you eventually, expression softer than usual.
“You know,” he said quietly, “I think I like this version of you best.”
You blinked. “The embarrassing version?”
“The happy version.”
Your face warmed instantly.
Romeo smirked immediately afterward, clearly pleased with himself for catching you off guard.
“Don’t get emotional, BB. You’ll ruin your reputation.”

Yuri Isami:
Yuri hummed constantly without realizing it.
Mostly classical pieces. Sometimes old operas. Occasionally obscure compositions absolutely nobody else recognized except him.
You started noticing after long evenings spent studying in his office while he worked nearby.
At first it was just background noise.
Then one day Yuri absentmindedly mentioned his favorite song while reorganizing medical files, expression unexpectedly soft as he described hearing it during childhood.
You remembered every detail immediately.
So naturally, you decided to learn it for him.
Unfortunately, you possessed the musical abilities of an injured goose.
Still, determination mattered more than talent.
Which was how Yuri returned to his office one evening only to stop dead in the doorway at the sound of someone aggressively butchering a classical melody inside.
You sat alone on his desk spinning slowly in his chair while reading lyrics off crumpled paper, singing with disastrous confidence despite being catastrophically off-key.
Yuri stared.
You hadn’t noticed him yet.
“…And then— something something amore—”
“That is not even remotely the correct language.”
You screamed.
The chair nearly tipped over as you whipped toward the doorway in horror.
“YURI?!”
“What,” he said immediately, offended, “were you attempting to do to that composition?”
You buried your face into your hands. “I’m never recovering from this.”
Yuri walked further into the office slowly, still staring at you with visible confusion.
“…Why were you singing that song?”
Your embarrassment faltered slightly.
“Oh.” You lowered your hands carefully. “I heard you humming it a lot.”
“…So?”
“So I wanted to learn it for you.”
Silence.
Yuri blinked once.
Twice.
Then very slowly, the tips of his ears turned red.
“You,” he said carefully, “learned an entire song just because I like it?”
“Well, yeah.”
“It sounded atrocious.”
“I know.”
“And half the pronunciation was wrong.”
“I KNOW.”
Yuri pressed a hand against his mouth suddenly.
You narrowed your eyes. “Are you laughing at me?”
“No.”
“You are!”
“I’m not,” he insisted weakly while visibly trying not to smile.
Then, unexpectedly, he walked closer and took the lyric sheet gently from your hands.
“The third verse is pronounced like this,” he murmured.
You blinked up at him.
Yuri cleared his throat awkwardly before humming the melody softly under his breath again, slower this time so you could follow along.
And when you joined in once more—still off-key, still imperfect, still smiling like an idiot through every line—Yuri found himself humming beside you anyway, unable to stop the warmth spreading quietly through his chest.
