Freddie’s idea of dancing … wonder what Roger’s idea of dancing is
Roger’s idea of dancing can be observed in Man on Fire xD
This is basically the making of Radio Ga Ga, right?

Has anyone done this yet?
Holy moly Roger close your damn eyes-
Secondo: I’m not saying Freddie Mercury WAS a siren, but have you ever heard someone NOT sing along to Bohemian Rhapsody? It is a six minute song with incomprehensible lyrics that seem to have something to do with murder and demons, five sections that are completely different stylistically, and no chorus. YET, it was number one on the UK singles chart twice, 15 years apart. It is one of the most, if not THE most, popular singles of all time. An absurdly broad swathe of people know it. I have no memory of actually learning it, do you? You expect me to believe there was no magic involved? I rest my case!

Superqueen edition
Freddie Mercury + immortality, hypnosis
Brian May + time travel, projection
John Deacon + teleportation, invulnerability
Roger Taylor + magic ability
I continue to think that Freddie really wasn't even half the weak little broken victim of everything that ever happened to him as part of fandom likes to make him out to be.
It doesn't strike me that he ever suffered from victim mentality, in his whole entire life, that is.
He was a fighter through and through.
I agree with this.
Firstly, Freddie showed great strength in confronting a variety of hardships, including personal struggles and the ups and downs of his music career. Resilient people do not often adopt a victim mentality but rather recover from adversity.
He projected a strong aura of self-confidence, embodying strong conviction in his abilities to overcome difficulties and achieve his goals. It only shows that he saw himself as a ruler of his destiny, rather than a helpless victim.
Freddie's exceptional charisma, self-assurance, and extroverted personality are all characteristics of assertiveness and tenacity, distinguishing him from any perception of him being a victim.
He effortlessly transforms his own experiences and deep emotions into songs and performances because of his skill in creative expression. This exceptional talent not only demonstrates his proactive nature in overcoming life's challenges but also his refusal to submit to a victimized mindset.
Shortly, Freddie Mercury's spirit was unbreakable. He remained strong till the end.
Here's the thing. Freddie absolutely did struggle with a terrible self image for much of his life. His perceived confidence was a mask he wore to hide deep insecurities. Many things point to the fact that he was likely to have had an eating disorder, his "diva" moments are almost without fail situations where he freaked out because he felt like he had failed or had embarassed himself, pointing to a deep-seated fear of failure. He was a people pleaser too who often let people take advantage of him and freely gave too much of himself. And I don't think he ever overcame his own internalised homophobia and he lived with the guilt of being gay and not having made Mary his wife/having let down his parents until the end of his life.
But! For all that happened to him, for all that he struggled with, I don't think that he ever let himself wallow in self-pity for any length of time. I'm finding it hard to explain what I mean here, but I think as fans we have a tendency to dissect all aspects of his life and sometimes I see a lot of "oh, Freddie must have suffered so much, he must have been so heartbroken, this must have hurt him so much, he must have found it so hard"... and I think, if I'm perfectly honest, that Freddie was simply not that inclined to let himself suffer. What do I mean by that?
We all deal with difficulties differently. Some people will sit and wallow in their sadness, and process it that way, some people will rage, some people will suppress what they cannot deal with. Suppression is not repression. Repression is an unconscious trauma response, but suppression is a conscious coping mechanism. It is a choice to put matters that are unpleasant or difficult out of your mind. And you know, I think Freddie was an expert at that.
He was so motivated, so ambitious, he hardly ever stopping moving forward creatively and also never really stagnated much in his personal life. It's interesting to me that Jim said he hardly ever spoke to him about his past, as well.
Of course there's nothing wrong with acknowledging all the bad things that happened in Freddie's life. I like to analyse them, too. But I think it's kind of a disservice to a man who was so determined to let nothing stop him, to bemoan how bad he had it and how he suffered. Just my opinion, of course, but I don't think Freddie would have ever seen himself that way.
Haha, okay, I'm crawling out of the woodwork to just... look at these pictures, which are terribly cute, first off.
But also, it completely brought to mind the massive hate-boner some people on tumblr had for Mary and how evil she apparently was and how much she disapproved of Freddie being gay and his friends. Bruh. Idk who in their right mind can look at these pics, of Freddie's ex hanging out with ALL of his gay friends and partner and no other females, and genuinely think "What a bad person she was for not fully embracing his sexuality and for not being bestiesss with all of his male friends". I'm literally 😂
Jesus.
So true.
I do miss hanging out with you in fandom, no joke! Much love, always. But I got you irl, so it's all good. xx
