art study #5
looking at more poses from grace liu
because i deal with depression i often feel like i'm "not passionate enough" to do art. because i see all of these artists who talk about how much time they just spend drawing and i think "wow, maybe i'm not supposed to do art. they seem so much more into it than me"
but in reality, i've just spent so much time listening to my depression telling me that nothing is worth my attention and effort, that i forgot how much of a passionate person i can be.
i just need to use that passion and apply it to things i want to learn. i need to put real effort in, because it is worth my time and dedication

art study #3
(spirited away)
my process
i started by tracing over her figure, trying to understand how the lines were drawn and what shapes they made
i did each piece individually, such as the eyes, arms, hair, and face shape
after i had broken everything down, including how much space they took up/proportions, i sketched it out, making each layer more clear and decisive until i got my final product (bottom right)
i didn't touch shading, but i'm hoping that i'll get better at understanding shapes without tracing the more i work on it
art study #2
princess mononoke study from this morning
starting to learn art is very intimidating to me, so i'm trying to take it one step at a time very slowly.
when i don't pick up things quickly i tend to abandon them, but i really really want to learn to draw digitally so i want to stick to this
first art study
intro post
i'm mainly posting this as a test post to see how my theme looks. i'll be posting my progress for learning digital art here as a way to keep myself accountable. starting at ground zero, so..
