finding her first sprout of white hair wasn't nearly as devastating as everyone told her it would be.

there was a time when she was convinced she wouldn't make it to her nineteeth birthday.

by some miracle, she did.

she doesn't often find herself wanting to die anymore, but that's not to say every day is easy.

on those really bad days, she thinks to herself, at least i still have my horoscopes, my hazelnut lattes & a familiar hand to hold.

it used to make her feel guilty, like she was letting down an old version of herself by going off & chasing something else.

but you know what?

as long as she's doing what she loves, she lights up from within, & in turn, she lights up the entire world around her.

these days, she meditates more. she drinks way too many cups of chamomile tea. she makes time for the little things that make her heart radiate with joy. she finally sees that there's so much more to life than always being productive or working, than always coming out on top.
