In Memoriam; In Reversione
Niko was accustomed to crazy. That’d had been his entire life in general. But things with Skylar were wonderful. They even got soulbonded - the airtooth equivalent of marriage. They had many children, and many friends, and many life experiences, being immortal and all. Life was wonderful for them. With Jason’s reversion and universal split, however... came a very new Niko. But he was happy.
Who’s Afraid of the Big, Bad Airtooth?
Snickering playfully, he followed the man into the house, running around to find all the boxes he could. He also grabbed some aluminum foil and tape for the metal effect. After a good long while of searching, a cardboard airtooth formed in the living room. Niko was posed in front of the TV, boxes on his paws, a large box stuck on his head, due to one of his horns poking through it, and cardboard strewn around him.
It took a good few minutes, but Sky finally returned and looked at the cardboard creature in his living room. He couldn’t help but start laughing, setting some stuff down on the couch as he came over, adjusting the box that a horn was protruding through. He move it to try to comfortably sit on the horn, “Geez Niko, you have become a cardboard monster.” He chuckled more and started trying to pick up some of the strewn about cardboard.
Niko swung his tail with a goofy grin and gave a soft bark. “ I’m made of cardboard now! Wait, does this count as being a cyborg? Or a cardborg?” He snickered at his joke as he shook the boxes off of his paws. “Iiiin any case,” he smiled, pulling the box off his head and briefly fixing his mane, “I think we’ve got plenty now.” He pointed to the aluminum foil and tape as well, “And the supplies. This’ll be awesome!”

“Hmm… I don’t know… It’s not like cowboys wore armor…” Smirking a bit, he stood up from his pumpkin, eyeing the man. “… We’re gonna need some cowboy-ish Indiana Jones kinda armor for you! With ‘metal’ plating here and there for added protection. Let’s go get the cardboard!” He hopped past the man, gently butting his head into Sky’s arm as he did, heading back inside the house.
Sky chuckled and let his hand run along Niko’s head once he felt him bump his arm. He pursed his lips in thought as he walked inside with Niko, “I think I got the best stuff to add in for my costume if you wanna start getting the cardboard.” He gave Niko a large smile, starting to go up to the bedroom, a slight bounciness in his movements, like an excited little kid.

Okay, okay, Mr. ‘Cowboy Warrior’.” He laughed as he went back to finishing up his pumpkin, “So a cowboy and a magical, mystical, tamed tiger dragon, then.” He paused, his knife momentarily lodged in his pumpkin’s nose, then began to grin. “… Sweeeeeet. Wait, I need cool armor. We might be able to make some out of cardboard. Don’t need much, maybe some cool leg guards and chest armor.”
He nodded, “I can get that. I still have a ton of boxes in the attic I can pull out and we can paint them silver.” He rubbed his chin a bit, “Hmmmm….. besides the hat, should we do the warrior armor for me out of cardboard too?” he looked at Niko curiously, rubbing the somewhat bushy beard that was growing on his face.
“Hmm... I don’t know... It’s not like cowboys wore armor...” Smirking a bit, he stood up from his pumpkin, eyeing the man. “... We’re gonna need some cowboy-ish Indiana Jones kinda armor for you! Quietly, Niko began pondering what costumes they could wear as well, still carving his pumpkin. He was in the middle of removing the carved out section of his pumpkins right eye when it hit him. “Oh! We could be like, a warrior and his mythical tamed mount!” He looked up at his mate with an excited grin.
Sky pursed his lips for a few moments, thinking about it before giving a chuckle and nod, “That really does sound like a cool idea. Can I still wear my cowboy hat?” He looked at Niko with a dorky smile, “Like a cowboy warrior! Come on, you know it would be cool!”

Jeremy sent me a message that he finished the trail for the hayride up and I gotta go get the tractor ready to ride it through the trail.” He smiled down at Niko, trying to think of something that they could wear out into the town that wouldn’t attract much attention to Niko.

A few minutes in, a quiet comment on the ‘sticky, sloppy consistency of pumpkin guts’ could be heard, and shortly after there was a loud “OH, BRILLIANT!” and even louder devious cackling.
Sky looked in the direction of the door as he heard stuff coming from the porch, narrowing his eyes and pursing his lips as he finished up the area he was working on. He finally came outside a few minutes later, “Niko, do I wanna know what kind of trouble you’re thinking up?”
Niko was currently sitting on the steps, stabbing at his pumpkin with a grin. He looked up when Sky walked out beckoning the man over. There in front of him, was a vomiting pumpkin, scrunched up face an all. only it’s mouth had been carved so far, pumpkin guts spilling out, but Niko had just started on the eyes. “He got a little too tipsy on the local bar’s Halloween zombie brew,” he stated casually, patting his paws in a little proud clap. “He’s beautiful! And gross!” He looked up at the man with a proud, innocent smile.

After Skylar’s birthday surprise, things around the farm picked up, especially once all the animals had been moved in and settled. Iris’ belly was continuing to grow, the chickens were laying their eggs, and the cows had been retrieved and adjusted to their new home.
Now… Now it was one of Niko’s favorite holidays. Halloween. He pranced around the house happily, heading into the kitchen and grabbing a knife to carve a few last-minute pumpkins. “Hey Sky… Doesn’t Mr. Weston have a scarecrow?” he called. “Maybe we should put a big pumpkin with a scary face on it’s head to freak him out when he goes out to harvest in a few days!” He giggled evilly, returning from the kitchen and carefully swinging his knife like a dagger.
Sky was busy putting up some decorations around his house at the time. Usually he would go into the nearby town and hold a little haunted hayride every year for the kids. Nothing too scary but something to entertain people. He looked up at Niko however as he came back, narrowing his eyes with a small visible amused smile on his face, “Yes his does, but come on now, do you really wanna give that poor man a heart attack?”

Niko gave her a dazed wave as she left, managing to pull himself away from obsessively licking Sky’s head. “Byyeeeee, I woooon’t… Probably,” he tacked on playfully before she left. Once the door had closed behind her, Niko gave a happy, rumbly purr, dropping down and nuzzling the man so forcefully the chance of him falling from his chair was quite real. “Happy birthday, Skyyyyyy! I love you, I love you, I loveyou, Iloveyou, iloveyou, iloveyouiloveyouiloveyouilaoouhlaoo.”
The force of the nuzzle caught Sky’s body off guard. He wobbled a bit and eventually lost his balance, falling back onto the floor. He grabbed onto Niko out of instinct, more than likely pulling him to the ground as well. As surprised as he was, he still couldn’t help but laugh, “Your nuzzle game was too strong.”
“AHH! Sorry, sorry!” He wobbled when the man grabbed at him, though he nearly fell over the chair. He stood there with wide eyes for a long moment before bursting into laughter, “Sorry... Being so big is still kinda weird.” He carefully tried the pull him back up into his seat, sitting down with an amused grin once they were both alright. “... Love you, heh.”

Giving a laugh, he blew a playful raspberry at her, licking Skylar’s cheek lovingly. After a moment, he continued his licking, traveling up to Sky’s hair, essentially beginning to groom him. He hopped up onto the back of the chair, his paws draping over the man’s shoulders. The tiger creature’s licking began to intensify with his purrs, causing Sky’s hair to stick up at odd angles. “Shhhh…. aaaaahhhmmmm…. poooooooo,” seemed to be the dazed rumbling coming from him.
Sky couldn’t help but start giggling, the licking tickling him a bit, “Seems…. hehehe…. My passionfruit shampoo…hahaha….is entrancing.”
Leona giggled a bit as well, “Apparantly so, fuzzhead.”
Sky stuck his tongue out playfully at her as he continued to giggle from the grooming, waving bye to her as she started to collect her stuff to leave, “See ya…”
She gave the two a wave as she started to head out of the kitchen, “See ya Sky. And don’t lick him bald now Niko or he won’t have hair to use shampoo on!” She gave another giggle as she left the house, going to return to her own home.

Finishing washing his hands-turned-paws, he patted them dry on the washcloth beside the sink and walked back over with a happy smile. “Thanks for the cake, Leona,” he smiled at the woman, a happy glint in his eyes, then nuzzled his head against Skylar’s side, giving a soft purr, “And happy birthday, Sky… You loser,” he tacked on with a loving, playful snort.
Leona gave a small nod and smile, “You’re welcome.”
Sky nodded as well, “Yeah, thanks for the cake chica.” He looked over at Niko, leaning against him and reaching over to scratch behind his ears, “And thanks..” He leaned over a bit more, nuzzling against his companion.
Leona gave them both a little girly chuckle before catch a small playful glare from sky before coughing a bit, “Acklovebirdsack.”

Leona continued shaking her head and pinched the bridge of his nose, “I am friends with two perverts.”
Sky couldn’t help but snort a bit, “Come on, you should have realized that I was a pervert at least when you met me.”

And you… really think a slice of cake is gonna hurt me?” He squinted at her, though his look was a look of calm bemusement and not anger. “… How would humans know that vanilla ice cream doesn’t really hurt dogs if no one had ever offered their dog any? Since I’m.. apparently a new species of some sort, I mean, I’ve already been poked and prodded with about 5 bajillion needles to get here, I’m not opposed to more.. delicious experimentation!” Grinning, he scarfed up his slice of normal cake, savorng it contently. “Ooohhhh cake, I missed you…”
Sky and Leona both gave a chuckle as they watched Niko scarf down the cake. Sky patted his stomach, “I feel like I’m gonna have a cake baby…” Leona shook her head with a snort, "Mr. Evesworth, you are a dweeb." Sky gave a grin, “I aim to please!”
He snickered at the two’s exchange, shaking his head as he smacked his lips contently. “Dweebiest dweeb for sure,” he giggled, moving closer to the man and nuzzling his side lovingly. “... But my dweeb. My birthday dweeb.”
