But the muse and I can’t promise it won’t be a little… off his/her norm.
"Shush, I don’t usually make plans and the storming doesn’t faze me. I love walking in the rain. More so the snow however." He pouted heavily and let his body rag doll in the chair.
"Ehehe I don’t normally do it for me but I went through it for my dad…" Such was the life of a politician’s kid.
"I love walking in the rain and snow too, but I am not okay with storms. The noise bugs me a little…to add onto that, I don’t like the rain in this weather…the snow is fine, it doesn’t seep into my bones and leave me feeling like I’ll fall apart at the drop of a hate…You’re just not of this world," he teased.
"Maybe I am, maybe I'm not." Jack caught his eye the stood up, "You know it's not so bad if you have someone to keep you warm." He winked and hummed turning to glance out the window. Just going to pretend that wasn't lathered in flirtatious vibes.
Jack deflated. He leaned back, lettings his head lean back as well. He looked at the ceiling. “Alright, next weekend then. But, dinner still on friday at least.” He lifted his head again and glanced looking for the acceptance of that plan.
"And I’m still feeding you Saturday night…" Was he having trouble keeping up with him? Hiccup laughed and played with the straw in his cup before standing and tossing away their trash. "Got it now?"
"Shush, I don't usually make plans and the storming doesn't faze me. I love walking in the rain. More so the snow however." He pouted heavily and let his body rag doll in the chair.
Hmm, what kind of dessert were you thinking of Jack? His conscious piped up and he shook it off. “Deal. I’m taking you out on Friday night and I suppose we can do some hiking on Saturday. Then you are making dinner.” Jack grinned. This was exciting indeed. He hadn’t had a real date in a while.
"But…you weren’t listening. It’s storming all weekend. I’m not going hiking in that mess. If you want to, be my guest. I’ll wait until it’s dry so the water doesn’t make the cold sink into my bones and get me sick…" He smiled slightly and sat back, arms folding. "But uh, I work until three on Saturdays anyways."
Jack deflated. He leaned back, lettings his head lean back as well. He looked at the ceiling. "Alright, next weekend then. But, dinner still on friday at least." He lifted his head again and glanced looking for the acceptance of that plan.
"Hmmm.." Jack thought and tapped his finger on the table. "I’ll go hiking… If you make desert on Saturday night." He folded his hands together and put them to his lips as if he just came up with the best deal in the world.
"I was going to make dinner and dessert anyways so I don’t know how that will work as an even deal.” Hiccup smiled and rolled his eyes, “How does that sound?”

"Only if I can make you dinner Saturday. I think it’s supposed to be storming all weekend and it’ll be nice to stay in and enjoy fresh stew, a fire, and an oversized dog with someone. Or Monday. Or maybe both?" he tried, looking hopeful. Hiccup...

Jack raised an eyebrow at the switch in conversation. He shook his head once more and tapped his jaw with his fingers. "I haven't gone hiking in years, and public tables to face a terrible fate don't they." He was having trouble not cracking up.

aw troy
how sweet of you
I’M TALKING TO A DIFFERENT ONE AND TROY ASKED ABOTU ME
"Most people find me creepy." He shrugged. Wasn’t a big deal, sometimes I liked it. It made people avoid him. People cross the street when they see Jack coming. He snapped back to his usual self with a goofy smile. "There you have it. We’ll just have to get better acquainted."
Hiccup snorted, “You look scary…but your eyes are a little different.” He smiled softly at him to let him know he meant it before reaching out to poke him, “We really will. Scary but hot guy with a sweet smile? That alone is enough to keep someone around out of curiosity.”
Jack shook his hair out and chuckled at the poke, but he grew serious though not so much he didn't still look sweet. "So, does that mean I can take you out for dinner on Friday night?"
"It’s alright. I don’t dwell much on it anymore. My mother died when I was 17 so, that was a long time ago." His sister had been dead for a couple years before that and his dad left when he was 10. He looked over the boy and smiled. "You’re awfully giving for me just...

When Hayden let go of his hand he pulled it back and laced his own fingers together. He took a deep breath and sighed before laughing a bit and leaning back in his seat. “I don’t have any anymore.”
Oh.
Hiccup swallowed nervously and looked at his drink, swirling it a bit. “I’m sorry…I didn’t know.” So he was on his own too then.
"Well, if this works out, can share what I have left of mine…especially Toothless. Hope you like puppy kisses." He was trying to lighten things a little, try to let the guy know that it could get better.
"It's alright. I don't dwell much on it anymore. My mother died when I was 17 so, that was a long time ago." His sister had been dead for a couple years before that and his dad left when he was 10. He looked over the boy and smiled. "You're awfully giving for me just being a stranger."
Jack’s smile softened and looked genuinely sincere. “I’m sorry about your father.” Jack reached over the table and set his hand over Hayden’s. “I . . understand.”
He had lost so many people, yet his father was out there somewhere.. if he ever met him. He’d kick his ass.
Hiccup shrugged, “It’s…fine I guess. Been a year now so, I’m…trying to get over it. And I still go talk to him sometimes…” He let out an embarrassed laugh, “Probably sounded weird. Sorry.”
Hiccup turned his hand and squeezed Jack’s before letting go, “And your family?”
When Hayden let go of his hand he pulled it back and laced his own fingers together. He took a deep breath and sighed before laughing a bit and leaning back in his seat. "I don't have any anymore."
"You’re not wrong with that one." Jack finished up his sandwich then took another sip of bitter coffee. The taste rolled over his tongue and thought. "So you’re from Norway?"
He shook his head, “No, my mom is.” Hiccup nibbled on his sandwich again, thinking quietly. “She was gone for…how long was it, eighteen years or so? I don’t know. I can’t remember anything of her from when I was a baby, but my dad raised me alone until he died…then mom came back into my life…I thought she was dead until she showed up.”
Jack's smile softened and looked genuinely sincere. "I'm sorry about your father." Jack reached over the table and set his hand over Hayden's. "I . . understand."

Hiccup blinked, slowing his chewing as Jack told him how he couldn’t go for his dream because of life. He wondered what had gone on to prevent him from following that dream of his. “Well…how many days in a row can you be off work during the holidays? I could…get you a buddy pass to go to Norway with me. I had planned on visiting my mom over there and seeing my uncle…the more the marrier since there’s…four of us if you count my dog Toothless.”
"I appreciate it, but we just met I can't ask that. Besides, how do you know I'm not some crazy that escaped from the ward years ago pretending to blend in with society and ensnaring innocent and handsome men into my trap." Jack got dramatic, hands gesturing creepily like he was an extra on the set of the triller video before breaking the drama to take a bite of sandwich. "But really, it's alright. I've got most my life ahead of me, I'll go at some point."
"Did those hurt?" was his first question as he pointed to his gauges. Hiccup had always been curious about them but had never had anyone to ask. Sure, getting the piercing could hurt a little but what about those?
"Is that your natural hair? It’s kinda cool…oh! Were you ever in college? It’s okay if you were not but I’m curious…what’s your dream job anyways?" And so they went on.
Jack looked at him slightly taken aback but sighed and shook his had beginning to answer the questions. They were going to be here a while he could feel it in his bones.
He gave a little tug to his gauge, they went big but he could get a finger in it so there's that. He pulled out the icy blue ring and put his pinkie through, "It doesn't hurt at all." He put it back in and turned it around. "No my hair is naturally brown, and I wanted to go for art but I couldn't handle it with things that were going on in my life and I just never went back to the idea." He hummed gently thinking about the other questions. "I don't really have a dream job. But I wanna travel the world.. but currently stuck at a desk job isn't getting me anywhere."
