Hungover
I learned the hard that wine stains
You were the finest of them all
You poured yourself into my life
Giving me a feeling that only you can
But suddenly, without warning
You told me you have nothing else to give
Drunk off your love, I begged you to stay
But before night turned to day..you were gone.
I find drops of you everywhere
No matter how hard I scrub
The stains of you remain
Your smell lingers on my clothing
And if I’m being honest I’m afraid to sleep
Because I know when I awake
You’ll be gone and I’ll be hungover
And all that will be left are nights I wish to forget
And mornings not worth remembering.
....something I wrote because for the first time it hit me that your truly gone. Goodbye brown eyed beauty.
