adult. gender? hardly know 'er. I'm only comfortable interacting with people over 18.

transphobia is unacceptable no matter if the target is transfem, transmasc or anything in between. it's never punching up, only sideways. I will largely talk about transphobia against trans men because that is my lived experience, but I will always hear out and support all other trans people too.

I don't care what you do in fiction, and find censoring fictional stuff (as disgusting as I might personally find it) to be a slippery slope that does more harm than good. consenting adults can do whatever they want to each other, but it stops being fiction the minute it's brought into real life/to nonconsenting parties. and no, animals and children can never consent.

I'm also disabled with various things I rather keep private, but I don't care if you are too, using the r slur as an insult isn't reclaiming. the fact that it's so popular to use now just tells me you bowed to conservatives the minute it stopped being taboo.

pedophilia jokes, (e.g. diddy, epstein, "when the guy you hate for no reason does something to make it justified" jokes) tells pedophilia victims that you find their trauma funny, and makes them scared to speak up with how you turn it into a drama spectacle.

that's the hard hitters, I guess? more to be seen. be good to each other.

I do not see misandry/androphobia as significant forces, let alone deeply powerful societal ones like misogyny is. and on one hand I get it, I did spend a few years of my life distrusting many men after years of the harassment and assaults and being belittled, I delayed identifying as trans because I thought of myself as lesser for not grinning and bearing the inherent* discomfort** of womanhood.

but it has to be obvious that trans men are used as the punching bag for those who were hurt by misogyny too, right? their oppressors (cishet men) aren't really affected, but we sure are, so we become the scapegoat.

when (almost always a cis, radfem-esque even if this is denied woman) sees me, a man in their woman*** spaces, they see their rapist ex-boyfriend. they see the old bum that catcalled them for the first time at 11. they see the asshole joking about hating his wife that did everything for him, the kid tugging her hair and being excused because "he just likes you", the many thousands of guys that cheered when roe v. wade fell.

so, obviously, they blame me. us. trans men as a whole. why would you transition to the enemy? are you a traitor? are you going to hurt us next? it's your fault. you want to become a monster. you want to take away women's rights, what little we and not you have left. as trans men you get used to venom being spat at you real quickly cause you're a man they can actually hurt.

and, again, I still don't see misandry or androphobia on its own as notable societal forces. but I do see how hatred of "women" and hatred of men blend into one massive storm cloud where trans men end up isolated no matter where they turn. so, oftentimes, we just turn to each other.

or detransition back into miserable, suicidal women. lots of people seem to prefer that.

I think one of the biggest reasons that people don't see violence against transgender men, transmasculine people, and other trans people who were imposed female as significant or important is because they don't see sexual violence as a real violence or as a significantly impactful form of violence. The literature out there has repeatedly shown these groups to face higher rates of sexual violence than any other gender group out there (including higher rates than the rest of the trans community), especially trans men of color and nonbinary people of color.

When people say that trans people imposed female don't face violence at nearly the same rates as trans people imposed male, sexual violence is always left out. Would it not be more accurate to point out that these communities face disproportionately high levels of violence in different ways? The only reasons I could honestly see people state that trans men and nonbinary people forced into the role of woman don't face that much violence is that they either:

A) Do not see sexual violence to be as significant as other forms of violence.

Or

B) They do not believe trans men and nonbinary people when they talk about the disproportionately high rates of sexual violence that they do face.

Sexual violence comes with life long trauma and fear, sexual violence can trigger psychotic episodes or the development of new mental and physical illneses that were laying dormant, sexual violence can permanently disable you, sexual violence can be used as a way to rob you of your agency (especially through forced pregnancy), sexual violence can force you to carry a child, sexual violence can be used as a tool to force people into marriages with their abusers, sexual violence resources that could help lessen trauma and health complications aren't targeted towards trans men and nonbinary people.

Sexual violence is a real, devastating form of violence that is explicitly encouraged by the patriarchy to be enacted on those deviating from the norms of imposed womanhood in order to force people back via abuse, forced pregnancy, and forced marriage. To state that trans men and nonbinary people labeled as female do not face as much violence is, whether or not directly meant, an admission that sexual violence is seen as lesser violence. When that could not be further from the truth.

I think the worst part (/j) about transandrophobia is how often you get talked down to, treated like a child that needs to be lectured about how the real world works, and then you open their profile and they're always like. 18, 19. nother level of second-hand embarrassment being patronized like that by people that were in middle school when covid hit

it both saddens me and really fucking aggravates me when some types of trans men pride themselves on being good, quiet, pliant men, and put down the ones that want to be outspoken.

when the subject at hand is how we're erased in topics that affect and often outright kill us (see: reproductive health, homelessness, sexual assault rates, etc), I don't see anything admirable about going "well, we're still men, so this isn't our place to speak over women." it's speaking over women to say we experience this too?

if I want to be blunter than usual, I'd say this "sitting down and being a good little trans guy" shtick only helps the people that want us dead. if talking about how we're oppressed (instead of rocketing up to some place of absolute privilege like they assume) upsets some people, frankly, I don't give a shit. I'll maybe give a shit when my trans brothers stop dying of sepsis, slaughter and suicide. until then, I hope being forced to acknowledge us makes you feel guilty enough to listen.

today's meme on twitter (author's note: don't use twitter) is a cis guy right-winger edited to have a beard, posing in front of the women's bathrooms. this is in response to guidance passing that bathrooms must be used on the basis of biological sex.

on the surface, I guess I get it, it's baiting transphobes who "can always tell" to pick that guy's appearance apart to prove he's "female" when he isn't. but it's also wildly uncomfortable, you know?

why do cis people (even the ones who are pro-trans, laughing at TERFs transvestigating a cis man) think this is their place to fan transphobic flames? why are we constantly used as a gotcha? why is it funny that trans men have to use women's restrooms after anti-trans laws pass?

so many transmasculine people face sexual harassment, assault, hate crimes and murder when we use them. we face it too in men's rooms if we aren't perfectly stealth. I fail to find it funny but this is apparently on me for being a buzzkill.

the survivorship bias for trans men is so horrific to me when i actually sit down to think about it. its actually Not Surprising that the majority of the voice for trans mascs come from white educated people with supportive families and/or communities. because the trans mascs who dont have that tend to detransition to finally access resources or just fucking kill themselves. the poverty rates for trans men and the homelessness and the medical abuse and the vilification of masculinity in queer communities and the violent transphobia from transphobes and the Everything all compound together to make sure the only men that survive to talk about their experiences are the men who had it easy. and then queer people have the GALL to say “trans men have it easy because theyre men” like there isnt a pile of underprivileged dead bodies laying behind the most privileged trans men in the community who get to speak for all of us and loudly agree “of course trans men have it easy, havent you seen how easy I had it?”

this is embarrassing stuff to admit, but as I ponder my gender more I find myself really intrigued by forcemasc. not even in a strictly sexual way, most of the time, moreso just. biting the bullet for me.

I'm used to living life as a "woman". I don't like it but it's what I've known. changing my body or my social identity so drastically is scary, even if I know deep down I don't want to be a "woman" forever. I'm scared of "ruining a beautiful girl", I'm scared I'll regret it, I'm scared of not knowing what I'll look like six months from now.

so someone doing it for me? loading me up with hormones, chopping off my hair and making me come to terms with a rapidly changing body? telling me to never hesitantly put on a skirt or accept being she/her'd again?

there's comfort in it I'm both scared to indulge in and absolutely crave.

"trans men cling to their AGAB and insist they're more of a woman than you" is not how anyone is supposed to interpret transmascs talking about the shit they face for existing in a deeply patriarchal, oppressive cisman-centric world.

countless states/countries have fully banned abortion, some even in the event of rape, health risks or incest. medicine is still largely being developed for cisgender men alone; only just recently, in 2026, did they fully map out the nerves for the clitoris for the first fucking time. many go to the doctor and get neglected, turned away from "women's services" (see: vital reproductive procedures), told they're overreacting or just fucking die because they are not cis men (or cis women, but we know cis women too face insane amounts of medical sexism). transmascs of color are being put in ICE camps and jails to be seen as potential breeding stock; endless amounts of transmascs have been correctively raped, babytrapped and/or detransitioned. there's so much more I could list if I wasn't too tired to whip out a novel in a fit of annoyance.

this is an incredibly real, tangible fear (and often outright reality) for many transmascs — this isn't them saying they're more of a woman. this oppression does not happen to only women. this is them screaming for their experiences to be fucking heard for once, because most of the time they try and either get ignored, told only women experience this, or that they're a man talking over (cisgender "feminist") women, identical to their oppressors.

I just need people to understand there has to be room for all of us at the table. there's not too little room for all of these conversations to happen, we're not running out of seats. it's all of us or none of us.
