I came back to tumblr because of Spencer Reid.
So, ever since I heard that MGG was coming back to Criminal Minds, I was curious about how they will make his story. I thought he will come back to help with a case, but then I heard they will "kill" Will's character.
Wait a minute, that sounds familiar to me.
That is because a few months ago I put together a fanfic via ChatGPT with an idea like that. I'm a Jeid shipper from the beginning, season 1 and season 2, especially after "Revelation". But after JJ got together with Will and then had Henry, I stopped expecting my ship will sail. Reading their story in fanfiction was enough.
But then "Truth or Dare" happened which made me think about various what ifs. Then Will got sick in season 16 which made me think, if there was a possibility Jeid could happen maybe this is the time.
But out of all the fanfictions I read, none of them made the story that I expected, so I made my own according to my wishes, just for my own reading.
In my story Diana passed away, which made Spencer take a sabbatical. Will had cancer in season 16, after months of treatment he did not survive. And just like in episode 18x03, Spencer returned for Will's funeral but in my story he stayed to help JJ's family through their grief. His experience of losing his mother made him relate with Henry and Michael who were grieving.
I didn't immediately make Spencer and JJ have a romantic relationship, it wasn't until two years later that it happened. I made the story until the next 10 years, until Henry graduated from John Hopkins University and found his true love. And Michael studying marine biology at University of North Carolina.
It was a fun experience. I hope there's a fanfiction writer who has the same idea and writes their story. I will happily read it.
