When I was in high school someone sent me an ask saying that they were studying for their finals and had my blog open in another tab, so the tab header just said “Daijobu” because that was my blog’s title, and that was helping them get through their studies. It’s been at least 8 years since then and every time I get on here I think about that. I’ve fully deleted and rebuilt my account since then, and I kept the title the same because of them. But today I’m changing it. I know it’ not a big deal, but it brought me small joy to know that someone out there was being comforted by something so unintentional, so I wanted to put this out there for memory’s sake yk

Something beautiful about the human experience is how we all find meaning and value in widely different things. I saw a designer talking about how she hopes her furniture designs are regarded as classics one day and that they inspire a new generation of designers. Some of us are writing stories, planting wildflowers along the sidewalk, building communities around riding bikes in the city or even “just” building couches. We all love something, we all see beauty somewhere that maybe no one else sees yet, and in one way or another we’re all digging wells for tomorrow’s people to drink from. Anything and everything that exists is loved by someone, and I hope that love will stick around long after us.
