Ok the US Attorney General says that she will remove ICE if MN drops all our sanctuary laws, complies with ICE, hands over all our SNAP, Medicaid and voter rolls. They demand control over our voter registration so they can "ensure free and fair elections".
They want to control our elections.
I am dead serious people call your representatives. Get volunteering. Get protesting. Get LOUD.
They released a letter full of straight up lies. Spread the truth. MAKE NOISE.
These are suggested for serving to recovering alcoholics, but I think they’re just fun and cool anyway? I like a fancy beverage, it doesn’t have to have booze. That cucumber Collins sounds refreshing AF
Something I haven't seen anyone talk about is how Flambae figured out Robert was Mecha Man before he revealed it.
Like when you say it before he tries to fry Robert, he literally says "It is you." Like knew already
I have a feeling it was sometime after you throw either the protein shake/spaghetti on him. I'm not saying Flambae was like "Wait a second... You know who else threw a drink on me like that? Mecha Man!"
But just the way he left the break room after that scene kinda makes me think that. Because the way he was walking backwards and nodding like he just figured something out... like "Yes... yes..."
I don't know. I think he's a cool character. He was a villain for the love of the game. No tragic backstory or nothing. He canonically has a healthy and active relationship with his family (as seen in voicelines)
I have a love/hate relationship with the whole Blonde Blazer vs Invisigal discourse, because both are good and bad for different reasons
PS I'm going to talk about positives and negatives for both
Visi:
I think her and Robert's relationship is sweet. He (irony aside) makes her feel seen. He acknowledges the parts of her that she uses crude humor to cover up, and is one of the only people to actually see her as a hero. More towards the end of the game, but still.
If you go to the movie with her and choose to end the romance route with her, she still makes a similar joke when you continue it. In the bar, when she says the whole "You bought me sour patch kids on our first date, figured whiskey makes sense for the second" line, if you say "That wasn't a date" it ends the romance route, but she still makes a sex joke, which is what she does when you say "I had a nice time."
Even though she's hurt or at least upset by Robert kinda shutting her down, she hides it behind a sex joke, which is what she seems to due throughout the rest of the game.
I think their relationship is good for both characters. For Robert, I feel like it ties into his story well with the whole theme of "the sins of your father" type thing. Robbie tore down a man who wanted to be a hero and turned him into a villain (Shroud), but Robert took a villain and helped her, despite a few hiccups, into becoming a hero.
I do wish there was a bit more of a direct timeline in the game, because it doesn't exactly say how much time passes since Robert joins. It could be a month, a few months, definitely not a week. Enough time for Royd to make 19 prototype Astral Pulses and to test them out, though.
After Invisigal arrests Lightningstruck and the team greets her and cheers for her, that's supposed to be them finally accepting her into the team, implying that she joined the most recently (other than Waterboy and Phenomaman). She directly says she feels like an outcast, and Robert helps her feel less like that, and I think they're both really good for each other.
Blazer:
I also feel like she's a really good fit for Robert, ignoring my own preference for romance routes. I feel like she's a type of stability that he would need in his life. Her also being powerless kind of shows that they have a certain understanding between them.
In universe, it's kind of implied that people with superpowers have a naturally higher strength and durability than people without powers. Evidence being the poster in the SDN gym with Phenomaman saying "If you don't have powers, you need a spot." and Flambae saying that he's seen Waterboy lift more than Robert despite their obvious build differences.
That being said, it makes Blazer's line in the first ep in the bar make more sense. "To do what you did for so long, especially without powers..."
They both have a large amount of mutual respect for each other, and she seems to genuinely make Robert happier. Not saying that Invisigal doesn't, but the point still stands. In ep 4, when he's clocking in, it shows him going through his morning routine looking depressed, and then when he walks by Blazer's office and sees her, his entire demeanor changes. He visibly lightens up and stops slouching just at the sight of her.
Also, similar to Visi, he makes her feel seen in a way Phenomaman didn't. She feels safe enough to be herself around him, which I think is sweet.
Now those are the positives. The negatives...
Visi:
She's got a whole lot of red flags. A walking HR violation, if you will. Because what do you mean you had a wet dream about someone and was like "Hey I had a wet dream about you." Like homegirl what??? I was judging hard.
The locker room kiss... I see some people compare it to Blazer and Robert's kiss in the first ep, and while both weren't directly consensual, Robert gave Blazer plenty of time to see what he was doing and to back away. She didn't. Invisigal straight up pins Robert to the wall while invisible to start kissing him. Not even a warning hand on the shoulder or anything. Like lips first, no time to react.
Not a fan of that. And also the whole fight at the end of ep 2 about the donut shop. She got called out for disobeying orders and injuring a clint on a call and punched Robert over it. While what he said wasn't the nicest, she had no right to hit him.
Speaking of hitting him, at the beginning of the housewarming party, if you choose to thank her and Royd for finding the Astral Pulse, she punches him in the stomach and says "don't get sappy."
Okay, that's all fine and dandy, but he literally just got blown up earlier that day. And was unconscious for roughly 15 hours. She should not have punched him in either scene.
Also just overall how she handled the whole thing with the bomb. It did not show at all in her behaviour that she felt bad about it until she admitted it.
Like if I came fact to face with the man I thought I killed, my first reaction would NOT be to sexually harass him and make comments about him being shirtless, which she was NOT supposed to see.
Maybe that's just me. But just the way she interacts with him throughout the game is crazy.
Blazer:
The entire first episode... girl. She sought out Robert with the intention of recruiting him. And then she intentionally brought him to a bar to get him drunk enough to be vulnerable with her.
I also don't like the way she handles the whole thing if you kiss her. Because she was giving signals that she was into him. Like the whole removing his mask, essentially calling him attractive while tenderly holding his face...
Robert also moves very slowly, as previously mentioned, and gives her ample time to pull away from the kiss. She does not until he already starts it. To be fair, she does admit she was giving mixed signals and apologizes, but the next day in the conference room, she was just being so unprofessional.
Like Robert is like "Yeah we kissed" and she's very adamant that HE kissed HER, and that it was not mutual. But if you romance her after you DON'T kiss her, and you do during the dinner date, she says something along the lines of "I've been waiting for you to do that for a while." Like she wants Robert to kiss her!
Also it counts as a +1 for her relationship if you kiss her but nothing changes if you don't.
She was planning on breaking up with Phenomaman for a while, but that still doesn't make it right for her to lead Robert on before she did that.
And just the way she handles everything with him isn't professional. Robert says it himself. He's like "Well this might be the fastest HR violation ever." When she tells him to change out of his Mecha Man costume.
I'm also not a fan of how SHE made the decision to cut someone from the team, but made Robert choose and carry it out. And when she says "Even if Visi was on the bottom of the leaderboard, I wouldn't have let you cut her." That kind of irks me. Because she's so willing to do something that she knows will likely ruin these people's lives, but not willing to do it to her own friend.
That being said, I do still enjoy both romance options and routes, but I have some issues with both of them.
