-responding to your response to the post I responded on LOL-
I LOVE all the overlapping repetitious symbolism with the twins in terms of how they were conjoined/depicted
Like you said- the side of Bo's face that gets beat in on is the side of Vincent's face that's missing
The way Vincent falls on Bo when he dies, it's exactly how they were conjoined (they leave this world the same way they came in)
Someone on here had made a huge post about the mural in the museum- that depicted the twins by Trudy, and Vincent only showing the formed side of his face (something about Bo being her "right hand man") and going into detail about the belief in "left sided" demonism
Even when they're standing in the window watching Carly/Nick flicker the town lights- they're posed on their respective sides
Same with how their high chairs are positioned in the museum closet
And then of course the *BEAUTIFUL* scene of Vincent cutting thru the doorway into the bedroom- slicing the wax replicas of the baby twins in the exact way they were cut (foreshadowing what Vincent's face reveal would show)
TLDR: this movie is a detailed, practical effect, well written cinematic masterpiece: written off as a cheezy 2000's slasher remake and we don't deserve it
<side question: because of how they were formed/born: do you think they prefer to sit on/be on that side of each other, naturally? What I mean is- does Vincent always sit to/stand on that side of Bo/vice versa, naturally? Much like how people that live together will naturally take one side of the sink as theirs, ect
Everything you said đđ»
This movie has so much to it, and people simply overlook it.
I saw that post about the mural. The symbolism throughout this movie is beyond beautiful, and I wish we could have a directorâs cut that goes through it throughly.
To answer your question; I do think they have preferred sides to everything, but they donât realize why.
For example; Sitting at a table. I believe they would sit in front of one another.
Head on, Bo would be on the left, and Vincent would be on the right; If the table is against the wall, then Vincent has no one looking at his missing side.
Thereâs a picture of Vincent and Bo that has them seated exactly how I explained, and because of that, I like to believe that Trudy influenced their preferences for seating, standing, etc.
Now, if they have to sit side by side, then Bo would subconsciously sit on the side of Vincentâs face thatâs missing. Also, I want to note that, in the kitchen scene, Bo stands on that side as well. So, Bo definitely stays on that side of Vincent naturally.
Bo is the, âLeft Twinâ while Vincent is the, âRight Twinâ
