Today a friend and I visited Dogs Trust as part of Gishwhes. We spent some time observing the dogs living conditions and learning about their stories. Many of the dogs are happy there but it is clear to see that some have battle scars from some not so good homes. It is heartbreaking to see dogs like these be mistreated and we hope they will find good forever homes. If you are serious (and only truly serious) about adopting one of these dogs or others, call in to your local animal shelter or dogs trust. Just A little thought: Do you ever have something start out so well but then slowly decline into a lack of motivation cloud. Starting a week so well, completely organised and motivated ready to take on anything. Maybe you have improved your daily routine by finding tips to keep you eating well and planning things in advance to keep it all going along. Or perhaps you are happy because you know you will get the work done for that deadline next week. But what you don't count on in this mystical motivated state is other people. It seems after a busy week off, doing physical rather than mental work, everything will be ok, you don't expect to experience the impact of the week off of others who did nothing. Yet they come back, pushing you harder than before. It's hard to decide if you can take it or not. 2-3 hours of immediate work at home suddenly expanding to 4-5 hours leaving no room for that important work for a future date that makes a much bigger impact on your overall future. People pilling the work on and on with no consideration of what others have given or perhaps that a person like me should have some free time. A week can start so well but with punches like this, you can be slammed into a wall, feeling broken, weak, worthless with nothing to do about it. Your perfectly planned lunches turn to a pot noodle bought quickly at lunch and wolfed down. Your plan to plan ahead and get work done, completely gone since the energy you had is going into the other work. By the end of the week stress builds high, causing you to cry for hours on end over lined sheets and blue biros while also almost having a mental breakdown when one task goes terriblely wrong or your workload is deemed too much for that small timeframe. I mean spending hours in a place and having to bring home work because it apparently isn't enough to spend the whole day doing this. It's tough and supposedly "worthwhile" after, but in few aspects. The week progresses each day worse than the rest, workload increases, you get completely drowned on a rainy day and are locked out of your house until you ring your trusty mother for the code, you have too much to do and people are criticising work you did before. So when the end of that week comes I have decided to take some time off, destress and stay away from those awful people and that idiotic work.
