“Suit yourself,” Gianna shrugged, switching the cup to her other hand. “This was actually a test to see if you’d fall victim to my poisoned cup of coffee,” she added, tone dripping with sarcasm as the corners of her lips raise in mischief. “Congrats, you passed the test.”

“You know I can never say no to coffee, kiddo.” Mason chuckled softly before accepting the cup from her and taking a sip. “I can use as much caffeine as I can got. A got a lot of grading to catch up on and that means I’ve got to pull an all-nighter. You’d think that those would stop when you’re not a student anymore but no, professors have to do it too.”

“You lost any rights to complain when you signed up to spend your days lecturing to disinterested college kids,” Gianna grinned, allowing Mason to take the cup. Holding her now empty hands up in defense, she continued. “Drink as much coffee as you please but they won’t get rid of those bags under your eyes, bud.”

James bit down on his lip with a smile as he looked over at her. “Just down the street from Blank Space. It’s nice and cozy, you know, you should come over sometime…” A cheeky smile followed by a wink as they walked in through the sliding double doors to enter the hospital. “Don’t you have somewhere to be?”

"Maybe I’ll stop by, but I’m not promising to help you unpack or anything. I don’t work for free,” Gianna smirked, looking up to meet James’ gaze. “I’m on my lunch but what about you? Don’t you have lives to save?”

It’s in Gianna’s nature to problem solve, she couldn’t just leave the girl to limp home and rid of any bit of pride she might have left. Nodding to the blue Cobalt parallel parked beside the sidewalk where the encounter started, the brunette thought of another idea. “How far do you live from here? I can give you a ride, this is me.”

He looked at her cup of coffee and then looked at the barista with ‘be carefull’ look on his face and then looked back at the Gianna. Adam sighed. “Well they only appear at night I guess.” he replied. He knows that because when he was younger and new at his job he always did patrols around town and he saw them. “Just like bets– Or owls.” He joked.

Pursing her lips in amusement, Gianna nodded her head. “I have never heard of the homeless being compared to owls or bets, but I suppose it makes sense,” she laughed. Reaching toward the nearby trashcan, the brunette dropped the cup inside. “The coffee will be cold by the time the sun sets, so, maybe next time.”

camila nods as she offers the coffee , not one to turn down something a little on the sweet side . she takes a drink and with a satisfied sigh nods her head , the perfect drink in her opinion . “ thank you for the sugar rush , it is exactly what i need to get me through this day . ”

“Good, I’m happy to have provided the sugar rush,” Gianna remarked, stuffing her now empty hands into the pockets of her jacket. “I think from now on, I’ll stick to my trusty coffee pot in my own kitchen.”

“trust me. if cooties were a thing i would have gotten them a long time ago.” just the thought of all the kids running around the daycare made him shiver. who knows how many germs griffin came into contact with on a daily basis. “i just realized how wrong that sounded. what i meant is that i work with children. i know all about the affliction rate of cooties.” still, he held out his hand for the coffee, not caring about a complete stranger having had it before him. “i’m griffin, by the way.”

“Thank you for clarifying,” snorted the brunette. “Anyway, I applaud you for your work. Kids are walking petri dishes so I’d imagine your immune system is killer at this point. How long have you worked there?” As she was given confirmation that the stranger wanted the coffee, she handed it over gratefully. “I’m Gianna. Hope you like caramel.”

“Ya know somethin’ tells me, that cooties aren’t the thing people worry about when offered drinks they didn’t get themselves.” Eevee couldn’t help but point out warily. “Gonna have to pass. Never had a good experience with drinks I didn’t get myself, but I can buy you what you did order if you want.” She offered.

“You make a fair point,” Gianna shrugged before dropping the full cup into the trash. “I appreciate the offer but I’m good. I think this was my sign to make better use of my coffee pot at home instead of spending money on drinks that I don’t want.”

“Love, a course I want it. What’d they put in it, anyways?” Val asked curiously, more than happy to take on another coffee. He held out his hands in the direction of her voice. “I like any kind of sweetener.” He added, eagerly. “Did they fuck it up with mocha or caramel or somethin’?”

Gianna breathed a sigh of relief before extended the cup, placing it in the male’s hands. “Perfect, it’s all yours then,” she said. “I think it’s caramel. I don’t do flavoring, especially caramel. The more bitter the better.”

“I’m normally a fan of black coffee myself, but I suppose a little sugar won’t hurt me today.” Joshua took the cup from her hands, flashing her a smile. “I appreciate it. Want me to grab you the drink you really wanted?”

“It’s either black or nothing for myself so please, take it if you will,” Gianna smiled, waving her now emptied hand toward the dark haired male. “That’s not necessary, I can grab it. Thanks for the offer though. I just didn’t want to be the asshole who threw a whole cup of coffee away right after buying it."

“Just an every day philanthropist, making people’s days one coffee at a time,” Gianna laughed at the other girl’s excitement, relieved to have gotten the drink off her own hands. “Gingerbread should stay in cookie form, but that’s just my opinion.”

Wow, I’m Cyrus – you probably are reaching for your pepperspray… it’s fine – I’m harmless.” He said with a laugh extending his hand to the woman.

Gianna could appreciate the dramatics. After all, it did wonders for her ego, watching the male feign upset over the tasteless drink. “Wow, a true knight in shining armor,” she rolled her eyes despite baring a grin, as she accepted his extended hand. “No pepper spray, be warned that I am licensed to carry a taser, though. Gianna.”

Since Dylan had returned home less than a week ago, things had been a blur. She was making sure her parents had enough groceries, that her siblings worked in shifts to make sure the family was still functioning, and trying to act like she was mourning in front of anyone that may stop by. She’d been shut in, and hadn’t really had a chance to go out and see her friends. Yes, there was Spring Fest, but she’d mostly kept to herself, so she didn’t really see anyone besides Tierney. But now that things seemed to be getting back to normal with her family, she felt like it was okay to venture out. Enough time had gone by now that the funeral was done and over with that she could act happy and the world wouldn’t look at her like she had ten heads, because a piece of the perfect Kelly family was now missing.

Of course, there was one person she wanted to see the most. Though she’d kept in touch over the past few years through Facetime, text, and various other technology, Dylan hadn’t been home to see anyone in what felt like forever. She’d just been so busy…she felt horrible about it, but she was home now. And as she walked over to her best friend’s house, a wide smile on her face, she couldn’t wait to see Gianna. Knocking on the door, she waited patiently for her to open. @ftgianna

Work had been especially taxing on Gianna recently. Staff numbers were low and the girl had been picking up extra shifts like it was nobody’s business. When her supervisor forced her to take the day off, she fought it at first, but now here she was on the couch in her pajamas at 2 p.m., eating noodles out of a cup. When a knock echoed on her front door, she sighed heavily to herself. She was in no position for visitors.

Reluctantly, she set the cup down on the coffee table and shuffled across wooden floorboards in her socks to the front door. Looking through the peephole, Gigi was pleasantly surprised to see who it was. Without another thought she undid the deadbolt and pulled the door open. “Dylan, I figured you’d left by now!” she grinned, taking no time to pull her oldest friend in for a tight hug.

It was obvious that eating it on the sidewalk was the least of the girl’s worries. Just as Gianna was about to dig in her bag for something to stop the bleeding, the girl cried out about the paperwork. “Oh --” Gianna jumped back to her feet, chasing the rogue sheets that were swept in the wind. Gathering them back up, she straightened them out against her torso before handing them back securely. “I don’t have tape or glue, but there’s a hardware store across the street that would. I can run and grab something if you want.”

“I get that. Plus the amount of sugar they put in those drinks is criminal, it’s basically poison for your body and it doesn’t even taste like coffee anymore.”

“You’re definitely right about that,” Gianna agreed, reaching toward the trashcan and dropping the drink inside. “And to pay three times the price as a regular cup of coffee, I don’t see any benefit to that.”

Cyrus was never one to say no to much. He stood there thinking maybe she thought he was homeless, offering the drink to him to be kind. He took an honest sip of the drink swishing it around in his mouth. “This is god awful.” Cyrus tossed it to the trash himself. “I wouldn’t mind catching your cooties, even for that shitty coffee.”

Watching the male’s face twist in disgust, Gianna uttered a small laugh. “Glad it wasn’t just me. You’re going to hurt the poor barista’s feelings though, I think she’s new,” she mused, nodding her head in the direction of the counter. “I think that’s some sort of compliment so -- thanks? For taking the coffee off my hands and also willing to risk cooties, of course.”
