i just hope for lando's sake he utilizes the speed he's had all weekend and at least makes it incredibly difficult for them to do stella's dirty work.

because i still cannot comprehend how stella watched lando top every session in quali while piastri wasn't anywhere near him, and still the most he had to say about lando was that he only got pole due to the ferraris not getting second runs and that they had superior pace so mclaren weren't even really in the mix for the win and that lando would be lucky to not lose numerous positions before T1 just to get to oscar and talk about how phenomenal he's been all weekend and how it's the team's goal to reward that pace with a podium.

because uh. if he thinks ferrari are so superior on pace and there's two of them and he wants oscar specifically on the podium and this was back when he thought oscar was starting p4 at the absolute highest. what fresh horrors did he plan for lando the second he saw him put that ugly ass papaya car on pole?

ignore this, i just need to rant and it's not really that deep but also it's something that's been like a pet peeve of mine for a while now

i'm ngl every time i see people talking about what a perfect hyperfixation f1 is i kinda assume they're one of those "we all got a bit of the 'tism" people and not actually ADHD or autistic bc this sport hasn't been properly fun to hyperfixate on since at least 2021 atp like it's a curse

and i don't think neurotypical people understand what a hyperfixation/special interest actually is in the context of being neurodivergent. it's not this haha quirky little hobby or topic that you're more interested in than others — everybody has that. it's your brain being completely locked into something and unable to think about quite literally anything else long term until you figure out or engage with whatever that topic it's locked on is. it's a fuck ton of anxiety and apprehensiveness if you do have to prioritize work or class or something and can't engage with that topic the exact moment you think about it. it's time blindness and going "oh, fuck, i meant to stop talking or thinking about this thing 2 hours ago to make dinner or sleep or whatever else, yet here we are, still hyperfocused." like, it really is not this fun little fandom experience you guys think it is, and especially not in a fandom as toxic as this one.

and there's also a difference between special interests and hyperfixations anyway but these posts seem to use them interchangeably which again goes back to the point i was making in the first paragraph.

Apparently some people still need to hear this so: using an 'ai checker' is still using ai. If you are feeding someone's fic to one of these checkers, you will still not be sure their fic is ai because they are not 100% accurate, but you can be 100% sure that you are using ai. For fic. Furthermore you are doing the work of an ai scraper for them. You are, personally, feeding the machine. There is no actual excuse for using an ai checker on fanfic as a hobby. YOU are the problem.

If you think a fic is ai, mute it and move on. That's it. That's all you do.
