I knew of the sport's existence and the main people Hamilton, Schumacher, Alonso and Vettel cause I used to camp on the sports news channel as a kid for football transfer news but I never really followed f1 closely. Until 2023 Carlos kept popping up on my tiktok fyp I think this was after his Singapore win. I thought he was very beautiful but I still didn't pay much attention but he kept showing up of course tiktok algorithm. Eventually I was discussing him with my fellow sports-sufferer friend. He told me about him and redbull dominantion and only non redbull driver. I was like yes this is my guy. I didn't know I was being set up for pain. Then the Lewis news happened I was like wtf now I have to back him even more this is MY GUY. Then I watched the 2024 season hating ferrari but trying to support them for Carlos. Watching the videos with Charles I was like are they fucki-? Then it turned out I wasn't the only one that thought that. I started watching his old mclaren videos and met Lando Norris. I was like wait, is my driver a man whore? He's in love with Lando too? I thought they were the cutest together and was genuinely shocked by their friendship. When Lando got his first win I still wasn't that big a fan but then I saw him being thrust into a "title fight" even though he was miles behind (felt like a set up) and getting a lot of hate online. Then I decided okay this shall be my guy too. He's a sweetheart why are people treating him like this??? The clickbait headlines. I remember people jumping him for saying simply lovely. I was so confused. These lot would not last a day in football. Then I've supported both of them ever since and luckily for me they love each other as well. I don't have to worry about my favs hating each other, can't relate.
I love how so many people's story boils down to "I saw this guy suffering, so I adopted him and we suffer together now."
Those sensitive fans wouldn't last a day in American football, either. Probably not most sports. It's crazy how F1 seems to attract such sensitive fans.

That afternoon, once Lando has a new number and can go back to using his phone like normal, Carlos invites Daniel and Max over to watch whatever NFL games are on that afternoon. None of them talk about the night before, even though Lando surely must know that half the team has re-posted Carlos’s statement on Instagram by now. The other half are probably still sleeping. Carlos can’t help but be proud of his team—he didn’t even have to ask, they just did it.
“When does Dal-loss play today?” Daniel asks around a slice of pizza. Max laughs at the incredibly uninspired joke, and Carlos can’t believe he never put two and two together.
“The Cowboys play tomorrow night, if that’s who you mean. When does… Barffalo play?”
Lando snorts next to him without taking his eyes off the tv, absolutely making fun of Carlos’s bad joke. He’s got his head tucked against Carlos’s shoulder and legs slung across his lap, crammed into the armchair together because Carlos is clingy and wants to take advantage of any opportunity he can to be close to him in front of other people.
Daniel rolls his eyes, and Max shoves his phone in Daniel’s face with a video playing loudly. Despite being one of the only ones skilled enough to actually get to the NFL, Carlos still can’t tell if Max actually likes football enough to pursue it. He’s clearly only here to watch the game because Daniel is here, their bodies tipped toward each other despite Carlos knowing that part of the couch has a bump in the frame that should make them leaning in the opposite direction. It’s no different than how they’ve always been, but they’re so clearly in love, and Carlos can’t decide if he’s been blind or stupid.
Right when Lando snuggles closer, a sleepy little huff of air tickling Carlos’s neck, Carlos’s phone starts to ring. His dad’s name flashes across the screen, and his stomach twists.
“I’m sorry, querido, I should probably take this.”
“Mmkay.” Lando shuffles out of the way, and Carlos gives him a kiss on top of his head before retreating to his room.
He’s talked to his dad a few times since he visited, mostly texting about whatever game Carlos had upcoming. Carlos even got a decent apology in the days following the visit, though he’s pretty confident that his mother probably wrote more than half of it.
“Hi, papa,” Carlos says, stepping into his room and shutting the door behind him. “How are you?”
Do the other drivers also have bodyguards almost always present in and out of the paddock? 🤔 I don't think I've noticed anyone else but Lando. Smart but also makes me a bit sad. How unsafe has he been made to feel ?
I've seen some occasionally with Carlos (usually look like venue secirity guards tbh rather than a personal bodyguard). I don't actually follow other drivers on social media I only see them race weekends on tv so idk about them.
On to non-f1 related things but I've seen clips of Agamemnon from the new odyssey movie talking about "aura". The clips are angering my spirit cause I hate him so much in the Iliad. I blame him and Odysseus for a lot of things that happened but most importantly I blame him for Patroclus's death. Also no one is talking about him sacrificing his daughter...
Yes, there were blue flags around the track for Carlos. But they were having issues with those all race, drivers getting them when they shouldn't and not getting them when they should. Also the driver tracker was apparently fucked, so it was hard to know where a car actually was to warn the drivers.
Carlos was told Piastri would lap him, but that was right in his fight with Fernando and he had no information just how close Piastri already was.
And when he said 'he couldn't/didn’t see him' that he 'had no idea he was there' he meant *there* as in his blind spot, trying to overtake him in a stupid spot and a situation that is just better to wait out.
I don’t get why everyone is so shocked a car being lapped gets in the way. It happens a lot. The drivers fight for every spot, if they wouldn't, what are they even doing there? And if you lap cars that are fighting, you have to do it smart and not be impatient and try and force your way past.
When Lando won Singapore, he could have extended the gap he had to p2 much more if he had gotten past some cars faster. But they were in an intense fight, so he thought it would be smarter to wait it out a few corners or whatever and not risk a crash by forcing it. Worked out pretty well.
Apologise FOR WHAT??? He did not finish the race anyways and he was slower even when he was still in !!! Carlos's insta comment section is triggering. This is how I know I can't be famous. I'll be responding to everyone.
why is oscar being a little bitch when a) carlos is not the reason his gearbox died, and b) he literally crashed alex out of points a few weeks ago and all he gave was an oops sorry mate
sometimes i find oscar's constant hate boner for carlos hilarious and entertaining for carcar stocks but Do Not Test Me Sir i stand with my loser wife
