this is completely spitballing and probably would never ever happen but what if the baby Kara saved 12 years ago on the beach was being driven home by his nanny and kara never heard what happened to him after it’s something she tries to forget because she’s always had that urge to help people but when she did she hurt alex and the world doesn’t need her, but she feels so guilty knowing she could help people and doesn’t so she just buries it

and then one day, she’s talking to carter, and he mentions that one of the reasons his mom is so overprotective of him is that one time, when he was a baby, he was in a car accident and almost died, but he was really lucky. And he doesn’t know how, but there was this young girl and she saved him. and his mom only found out a month later when it came up in the divorce, so cat never found out who the girl was, and at that point cat was too busy to do any further investigation, beyond finding out the door was ripped from it’s hinges and kara, kara, do you think that maybe it was supergirl?
