For those of you who don't know, Andrew has decided to no longer tour with Set It Off. Now I know we haven't been keeping up on this blog(life comes up quick, I tell ya.) But I figured I better make a post on here as well, since I've made one everywhere else.
I met Andrew in April of 2010. It was the 9th, to be exact. Set It Off was playing at The Garage, and I hadn't met him yet(he wasn't at my very first show.) I bought a shirt from him, and then walked away. Later, we had a conversation about a suicide at the Mall of America and that was that. It's kind of weird that I remember that so perfectly, but whatever.
Over the last four years, Andrew has been one of the most influential people in my life. He is someone I have trusted him with a lot of things my parents/family don't even know. He has given me some pretty great advice, and helped me more than he could ever imagine. I will never be able to thank him enough for the smallest things that he's done that have helped give me the strength to be the person I am today.
I made this blog in September of 2010, because I wanted everyone to know just how incredible he is. Tour Manager/Merch Guy/Friend along with a million other things. He is one of the hardest working people I have ever known. Remember when he lost a game of Tetris and had to carry TWO bands merch bins up the stairs of a venue? ha! And lets not forget how unbelievably caring this guy is. I have never met anyone more genuine or with more heart than Andrew Cramb. He takes his time to speak with people, keeping eye contact, and no matter how dumb the conversation, you can tell he's interested. I've always admired that about him.
I wrote a paper in high school based on him. Not only would I love to have the job of touring with a band(whether it's merch or tm) but I really just wanted to be a good person. If any of you know me, you know I've had my ups and my downs and I was really just a shitty person for awhile, but over time I learned from my mistakes and grew up. I had a pretty great role model.
When I read that he would no longer be touring with Set It Off, I was crushed, but I understood. Sometimes in life it's time for you to move on and work towards your own dreams.
So, to Andrew. As much as I will miss our stupid conversations, the great advice, and the ten thousand hugs I always receive at Set It Off shows, I will support you in anything and everything you do. I'm still not sure how I'm going to adjust to going to shows and not seeing you(because let's face it, that's half of the reason I go) but I'll get over it. I know I'll see you, shit, you know I'll see you. I'll come hunt you down if I have to, because you my friend, are irreplaceable. Nothing comes close to how happy you and the memories we have make me. I've told you before, but the simplest things from you can make my day. You really are one of the greatest people, and I can't thank you enough for being you.
Thank you for telling me you're proud of me, when no one else does, and thank you for never giving up on me.
I wish you the best of luck and I'll see you this summer. I hope you know I will be stalking you at every date I go to. ;)
