HELLO WORLD
SO.
Sorry for forgetting about this blog all this time. I’ve been busy as hell.
I’ve been allowing myself to read some books non-related with college, and I would like to published the reviews. And that’s what I’ll do.
This is going to be the order:
Warcross by Marie Lu
The Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu.
The Young Elites series by Marie Lu.
Definitions of Indefinable Things by Whitney Taylor.
Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley.
Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia.
On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta.
Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella.
Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta.
Made You Up by Francesca Zappia.
And my bonus:
The Unwind series by Neal Shusterman.
There are books that I had read years ago, like the Legend Trilogy and the Unwind series, or a year ago, like On the Jellicoe Road, or just finished reading, like Warcross.
I choose this books because I have learn something from them, I had enjoyed them in the wide sense of the word -I had cried, I had laughed, I had been furious, I had been sad- and, for me, those are the books that are worth reading.
For now, enjoyed one my last reviews: The Rose Society by Marie Lu. http://fuckyeahbookish.tumblr.com/post/136581415675/the-rose-society-marie-lu
Hope you enjoyed the coming reviews.
Love,
Laura.

note to a loved one...
Hello.
I just was passing by with the sole purpose to get this out of my chest: It’s been a year now since my grandpa left me. And yes, I am sad. But also, I am glad that I get to knew him long enough to feel sad right now.
I’m glad I get to remember every little thing I loved about him and also every little thing that used to annoyed me. I GET TO LOVED HIM AND NOTHING, NOT EVEN DEATH, IT’S GOING TO TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME.
SO, HEY GRANDPA. WHEREVER YOU ARE, I JUST WANT TO TELL YOU THAT I’VE BEEN MISSING YOU THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY-FIVE DAYS. BUT I ALSO GOT SIX THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FIVE DAYS TO LOVED YOU. AND I GET AN ENTIRE LIFETIME TO REMEMBER YOU.
Love you forever,
your granddaughter.

Be proud of your pain, for you are stronger than those with none.

What are the chances you’d ever meet someone like that? ..Someone you could love forever, someone who would forever love you back? And what did you do when that person was born half a world away? The math seemed impossible.

Just finished The Midnight Star...
SPECTACULAR. What an amazing way to end these series: it ended how it had to. There was no other choice, if so, it would have been disrespectful to Adelina, a character that I learn to love and understand.
It’s always so bittersweet when I finished a series. It means I’ll have to say goodbye to these characters and to this world that, from time to time, lived with me. And what makes me happiest than ever is that I get to say goodbye to them in a very specific circumstance: with the ending they deserve. And Marie Lu just did that with these series. So thank you.
There will be a review soon enough.
For now, let’s just say that Marie Lu has officially become one of my favorite authors of all time. She manage not only to create such incredible and complex worlds and characters, but also to connect them, somehow, with us. I’ve seen myself in Adelina’s decisions, one way or another, which meant that while I was learning about her, I also learnt about myself. Thank you for that, Marie.
cheers.
Laura.
