General #tw for talking about sexual assault since that’s my thing. I avoid graphic stuff in general, though.
The hypocrisy I’ve seen within the progressive community—particularly on this site—makes me sick. I’ve seen many people feign a moral superiority over conservatives openly supporting sexual predators like Trump and Roy Moore. But the...

but I’m fed up with people who are willing to slut-shame and throw survivors under the bus to keep a replaceable man in power.
Time Person of the Year 2017 - The Silence Breakers
When dozens of women came forward with sexual assault and harassment allegations against Harvey Weinstein—who has continued to deny all allegations of non-consensual sex—actor Terry Crews noticed that some people on Twitter were skeptical. Crews knows from personal experience how hard it is to experience harassment and muster the courage to speak out: He says he was groped by William Morris Endeavor agent Adam Venit at an industry event in front of his wife. The agency said they suspended and demoted Venit, who declined to comment for this article. He has since returned to work. Crews is now suing Venit and the agency for sexual assault.

does anyone still use this thing?
... And we’re back!
This week, Paul Ryan announced the vote to defund Planned Parenthood and dismantle the Affordable Care Act. Both of these actions are a death sentence for millions of women across the US. The GOP thinks that the 8,000 - 9,000 community health centers in the country will be able to handle women’s health needs, but that’s just not true. (And these stories often show why.) I was so upset when I heard about it, I started re-sharing stories from this blog, and then decided to start asking for new ones. Share yours if you can!

is this thing still on?
Thinking I should come back here more often...or are most of y’all gone from Tumblr? lol :)
I’m burning things because I’m a Black rape victim; you do it because you’re mad Colin Kaepernick said racism exists.
The United Nations says sexual violence is one of the most common human rights violation in the world. Yet academic institutions that pretend they are bastions of honor and integrity allow this to continue in disgustingly high numbers— and then work to protect rapists in the interests of covering up this violence.
Yet you’re mad that a stranger believes that America is better than what it is right now.
#NeverTrump is a pretty easy choice.
Made this for my BFF this morning.
While we often hear about how devastating a crime sexual assault is, we don't always talk about what happens after the crime. But the effects of a sexual assault last far beyond the assault itself.
We need to hear more stories like these, and “Survivor Privilege” aims to tell them. Wagatwe, a survivor herself, named the book after a hashtag she started in response to a Washington Post article by George Will claiming that being a sexual assault survivor means having a “coveted status that confers privileges.” In a culture where victims are often silenced and blamed while perpetrators are forgiven, the hashtag and the book hope to show that being sexually assaulted is not a privilege, and the perpetrator is not the real victim. The victim is.
Stop before giving Mark Zuckerberg anti-racism ally cookies.
I recently saw a Facebook post to a piece on Fusion explaining how the company had just put up a giant “Black Lives Matter” sign at its headquarters. The link came across as congratulatory for the social media behemoth: the subtitle read “Good job, Zuck.” and the article is filed under a bright blue tag that says “Sings of Improvement” in the upper left corner above the headline.
As much as I’d like to give Zuckerberg a pat on the back for this move, I can’t. This gesture is complete and utter bullshit.
i love how that GIF is the post’s share image.
If you think that a public figure’s documented mistreatment of women should have no effect on their legacy after they die then like that’s honestly the most suspicious thing I’ve ever heard
We, the teachers, are responsible for instilling empathy and understanding in the hearts of all kids. We are responsible for the future of this country.

In this book, ethereal beings grant magical abilities to humans who live, love, fight, and discover new worlds.
Hi everyone! This is Jac, a contributor for Fuck Yeah Feminists! I have just finished my first novel and have launched a Kickstarter to help cover my already paid, out-of-pocket costs. It is a fantasy novel with queer POC characters, lots of magic and love. E-books, trade paperbacks, art prints, and a button are available. The first chapter is up for free if you’d like to get a feel for what’s in store: http://brilliantshadows.tumblr.com/post/116666560638/brilliant-shadows-introduction. Please support this if it is up your alley. Much love to you all!
