at what point are the writers for the twenty shows that killed off lgbt women this past season going to look around and notice the other nineteen shows who killed off lgbt women this season and realize their clever plot twist wasn’t so clever

Maybe think real hard about why the “logical” end of every lgbt woman’s character arc mysteriously happens to be death. Maybe think about why you don’t write lgbt women and black women with the intent that they will live.

“Well, lots of characters die on this show, we’re not singling them out.”

Yes, except for the members of your invincible core cast who are, mysteriously, straight and cis and white and who are, mysteriously, always exempt even when you’re trying to show us that “anyone can die.”

“But it was well-written!”

If you had done anything else so tropey and predictable that like nineteen other shows did the same thing in the same season, would you really be saying it was great writing?

the lesbian and gay big apple corps marching band and color guard performs walk the moon’s “shut up and dance” after the orlando vigil at the stonewall inn in nyc. the band had been playing more emotional pieces, but eager to find a moment of joy with their community after the incredible pain and sadness of the last two days, the crowd had demanded an encore performance.

it’s not the same as an orlando event, but dc has a wonderful lgbt band as well, dc’s different drummers! according to their calendar they’ll be playing in the palisades 4th of july parade and at baltimore pride on july 23rd

they’re also playing at night out at the nationals tonight starting like, right now if you’re feeling spontaneous and wanna spend $20 and also see a baseball game
