WIP 🤫 - posting to remind myself to finish this.
ANYWAY, I read somewhere (think it was a comic book) that there is a statue of Qui Gon on Naboo in commemoration of his sacrifice during TPM. Cue scenes of bitter-sweet remembrance.
As a writer I need everyone to know that whenever I write "exchanged glances" my intent is this

[image i.d.: ink-wash tonal study in sepia ink of obi-wan kenobi from star wars. bust portrait in left facing profile. the left edge of obi-wan's hair and face is light in bright white light, the rest of the painting in shades of dark brown ink. his head is bent slightly down and his eyes are closed. /end i.d.]
i was having trouble with the robes so i just smashed obiwan and darth maul's robes together
Actually that no punctuation plot hole ooc wattpad fanfic written by that 12 year old will ALWAYS be better than character ai. And I love that 12 year old btw
I love every shitty fanfic ever written, I’ve written some of the most shitty fanfic ever written, and I love it BECAUSE it’s imperfect and human and made for love not for popularity or profit. Generative AI has no place in schoolwork or academia but even LESS in fan spaces. Because without the love, what’s the point?

Ok this is the best one i've seen.

it is november, and yesterday it felt like it was supposed to be snowing. in boston, november used a winter month, not a fall month. it is supposed to be chilly; rarely capping over 45F. it is a sweater-and-jacket month. it is a "maybe a scarf too" month. in my childhood, november meant blizzards and sleet.
it did not snow. tomorrow the weather predicts a high of 76.
i have spent so many years of my life studying the longterm possibilities of climate change - the culmination of capitalism wreaking havoc on the bodies of people, animals, plants - but every so often i am still shocked by something small and personal.
in a hundred years, when someone goes outside in boston - will they know the feeling of "snow in the air"?
i know it's a learned feeling, a sensation that maybe only longterm experience can teach. a few years ago, i was walking with my friend who had just moved up from the south. i said it smells like snow and she gave me this look like - what the fuck. i said it feels like snow too, which didn't help. she looked up to the bright blue sky and then back at me and then back at the sky. 12 hours later, we had 3 inches. you can just tell if it's going to snow.
except i can't tell, anymore. i stand outside in a tee shirt and watch my dog dance around a lake. we're in a drought and the skin of the water has peeled back twenty meters. the lake is tamed, quiet, puddlelike and sour. my pokemon go app warns there's a weather condition in my area.
my dog gets too hot from running and sits in the water and i want to laugh about his long frame and how awkwardly he sits - and i can't. some simian part of my brain is scratching the walls. it was supposed to snow. it was supposed to snow, but now it's warm instead.
during the last full solar eclipse, the dogs and the birds and the crickets went crazy under utter darkness. we laughed at them then, promising it will all be okay in a moment. but some part of me is still locked in that long night: some animal sensation.
something is wrong, my body says. i can't afford eggs or rent. i go outside to watch a sunset and listen to birdsong. i don't bring a jacket. allergies are killing me this season, allergies i didn't have as a kid. everyone comments that halloween has started to feel strange, offkilter. that it's hard having "holiday cheer." my body thinks it's april, and then it thinks we're in september, and then june.
something is terribly wrong, she whispers. go outside. it is supposed to be snowing.
Found an ask game to send writers things you love about their work, so: | 💔 your angst scenes ruins me every time | 🥵 your smut scenes make me die of thirst | 🍀 you can describe emotions and feelings perfectly | 🌌 I love that your stories create whole additional universes
oh my goodness, a heartfelt thank you!!! Wish i had time and brainspace for writing these days. Missing it painfully.

Another thing I love about The Clone Wars is that it actually shows Obi-Wan's darker side at times.
Warden Agruss is undeniably a bastard - even so, the way Obi-Wan smiles when he turns to Rex is definitely something that doesn't exactly fit the Jedi Code.
Also, this? Damn. Damnnnnn. We know Obi-Wan is one of the most powerful Jedi in the Order, yet we rarely see him use the Force in a way like this. It's far more aggressive than the abilities we've seen him using.
And here, just for a moment, we see Obi-Wan giving way to his rage. You can see it in his movements - they're wider, more aggressive, less balanced than the traditional Soresu we're used to seeing. Maul mentions it explicitly: "Your rage has unbalanced you. That is not the Jedi way, is it?"
In conclusion, damn.
IF I MAY ADD:
FOLLOWED CLOSELY BY----
This is the man who took on Savage and Maul at once and won.
THIS IS THE MAN WHO FOUGHT ANAKIN SKYWALKER AT HIS PEAK AND WON.
Obi-wan. Is. Dangerous.
He just rarely allows himself to be.
Adding a couple more, because I love this topic ...
A Death Watch soldier attacks Obi-Wan and tries to assassinate Satine, and Obi-Wan slams him into the building so hard he cracks the exterior wall! He holds him in position for a couple long seconds before throwing him over the railing. If the soldier’s jetpack had been damaged (and honestly, it should have been after slamming into the wall), he would have fallen to his death.
And then look at that last gif ... the anger on Obi-Wan’s face after Savage kills Adi Gallia. He definitely would have killed Savage if Maul hadn’t blocked the blow. This unbridled rage feels more like an Anakin reaction -- definitely anger, definitely a desire for revenge, even if it feels like justice -- especially since he completely turns from his battle with Maul in order to go after Savage.
I think that this moment is what Maul’s thinking about in The Lawless as he’s about to kill Satine. We don’t see the same reaction from Obi-Wan there (I think that he recognized his error after Adi’s death and fought against the urge to react the same way when Satine was in danger), but Maul can feel the fear and anger and hatred inside of him in spite of his calm reaction.
Obi-Wan Kenobi may be the epitome of Jedi Knight, but that does not mean that he’s not immune to the temptations of the Dark Side.
Even Obi struggles!! 😭💗
"Come on. We've got a ways to go."
To think after so many years he still have that vulnerability when he’s with his Master, it’s scream attachment ❤️
