Meeting Lewis Watson at Hyde Park was amazing! Such a kind, funny, sweet, humble and genuine guy 💖💖
The summer going into 10th grade, I listened to Lewis Watson for the first time and completely fell in love. I’m in my first year of college now and since then, I’ve grown more and more attached to him and his music to the point where just thinking about it makes my heart warm and puts a smile on my face. He’s from the U.K. so I’ve never gotten a chance to see him live and never thought I would but tonight, my dad and I attended his concert after flying to Chicago just for this occasion. I was right up against the front of the stage and finally heard his angelic voice and saw his daylight smile in person. It’s so crazy how humble he is. Every time he got overwhelmed by hearing the crowd sing his songs, he’d stop singing and just laugh out of joy. My favorite thing about him is how passionate he is about what he does and music in general. That’s what inspires me the most. But also just him as a person and how he exists is something that could move mountains. After the concert I got to meet him. He welcomed me with open arms and I told him that tonight’s experience was truly a dream come true. He took a step back when he heard that and just said “wow” and I gave him a letter I wrote him and told him I wrote it because he has impacted my life so much. He slid my note in his wallet and said “I’m going to read this tonight, really”, and hugged me tight again. This has been the greatest day of my whole life. Goodness, I am so happy.
