slow dancing with a femslash pairing of your choice <3
ooh, yay for femslash!!!
i just scrolled past a post that mentioned Morkins (Mary/Janine), so lez do that oneā¦
ā
āIām just going to the loo,ā Mary shouted to John, pointing out the door as the final chorus of YMCA blared out over the wedding reception. He nodded his head in time with the music, then gave her a thumbs up before lifting his arms to form a Y. Mary shook her head, laughing at him, and made her way to the toilet.Ā
She came out to find Janine standing in front of a mirror and trying to correct her running eye makeup with her pinky finger. She cleared her throat before stepping into Janineās space.Ā āAll right, then?ā she asked, washing her hands.Ā
Janine smiled at Maryās reflection in the mirror.Ā āYeah, just. Sweaty, you know?āĀ
āSherlock was right aboutā¦āĀ
āOh, that he was. Not a great dancer, but a sure thing. You know I like that,ā Janine said, giving Mary a playful slap on the arm.Ā
āYou know, I DO seem to remember that about you,ā Mary replied, grinning. It hadnāt been so long ago that their friendship drifted into theĀ āwith benefitsā category, after all, and some of the tension was still there between them.Ā
āBack to it then?ā Janine asked, pulling Mary from her moment of reverie.Ā
āWhat? Yes, letās,ā she said, pushing the door open. The song changed before they reached the dance floor, and Mary grabbed Janineās arm without thinking, stopping her short before they could re-enter the reception. It was their song. At least to her it was.Ā āDo you remember?ā She didnāt look at Janine until she heard her response.
āCouldnāt forget that, could I?ā Janine smiled back at her, eyes dancing as she bit her lip.Ā āShall we?āĀ
Mary nodded, taking Janine in her arms and guiding the other womanās hands to her waist as the words drifted out over the dance floor. Mary sang along quietly, ānow Iāve got you in my sights with these hungry eyesā¦āĀ
Janine leaned up and kissed Mary on the forehead as they swayed the the music.Ā āWe can still have a movie night, you know. Sleepover, even. I promise Iāll behave,ā she said, eyes still gleaming.Ā
Mary rolled her eyes and shook her head.Ā āCanāt say that I would,ā she said, shaking her head. āThough I donāt think John would mind.ā
āNo?ā Janine was incredulous.Ā āHe doesnātā¦ā
āKnow? Oh, yeah. He absolutely does.ā Mary took a couple of wide steps in a circle so that Janine was facing into the dance floor where John stood watching the two of them dancing. He grinned at her, then looked down, embarrassed.Ā āHis exact words were,Ā āfine, itās all fine,ā I believe.āĀ
Janine bit back a grin.Ā āWell then, is he hoping for an invite? Or do I get you all to myself?āĀ
āDunno, actually,ā Mary said.Ā āWeāll talk about it when you invite me over.āĀ
The song endedāor transitioned, rather, into another hit from Dirty Dancingāand Mary pulled Janine in for a hug a chaste kiss on the lips.Ā āWe should go back to our boys for now,ā she said with a shrug.Ā āShouldnāt we?āĀ
āI suppose,ā Janine sighed.Ā āBut Iām glad I got a dance with you tonight.āĀ
āMe too, love,ā Mary said, giving Janine a light swat on the bottom.Ā āMe. Too.āĀ
