On September 24th, 1960, the Navy's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Enterprise was launched at Newport News, VA. While CVN 65 is no longer in service, the name Enterprise will soon be active again with the newest class of aircraft carriers – the Gerald R. Ford class – with Enterprise CVN 80 coming in 2025
