I remember finding this blog a long time ago. Congrats on getting sober! Do you include or approve of medical/recreational marijuana as a part of a recovery program?

Personally no, it's not for me. I had to cut out everything though. Some people, and by some I mean a small, very small, minority are able to use oth1er things safely and without cross addiction, but it's rare.

I just want to let you know that I'm praying for you and im sorry for all you've gone through with your addiction, you seem very smart and well informed and from what I have read really have people's best interest at heart. I hope you and anyone else battling heroin addiction can somehow overcome it. good luck and love always

Thank you whoever you were. I made it a point to be am educated addict and I genuinely do care. I think harm reduction is one of the biggest weapons we have. If we can keep someone alive and well enough till they want to quit at least they'll have a life to come back to.

i'm glad i could give you a little piece of hope. thinking a 2nd and 3rd time about what you wrote, it remembered me more and more about the state of depression. you feel like you can't go deeper and *bang* there's someone to give you a shovel. in your face. even if there never was any habit of drugs. just the state of mind, or of emotions, itself. but nevertheless, it will pass by. sounds trivial, but after rain will be sunshine. after hard times come better ones. keep fighting!

My boyfriend shots heroin, and it changes his mood, as different than when he snorts. Can you explain why, or does this happen to you too?

It's almost a completely different drug when shot up. There's a rush and it hits you so much faster. You also get 100% of the dose as opposed to about 60% when snorted. These are all reasons for the effects you just described. Yes it happened to me too. It used to make me happy until someone did something I found irritable, then I became an asshole.

You are strong and I'm proud of you. I want to share with you my experience with heroin. Although I haven't personally done it, I am greatly affected by it. On August 9th this year will mark the 7th year of when my sister was taken from me. This August will mark the 8th year of when my father was taken from me. And this November will mark the 8th year my brother was taken from me. All from heroin. I am glad to know people can have strength to ask for help. Thank you for being brave.

Thank you. The first step to overcoming anything is admitting and asking for help. It wasn't easy and I definitely could not have done this without the beautiful people I may along the way. 😊 they really deserve all the credit. And I'm terribly sorry about all the loss. Opiate addiction is rough in just one family memeber. I can't imagine three. I'm so so so terribly sorry you've had to go through that😔
