🍣;; —— Oh he definitely regretted his actions, even though it was not visible due to his stoic face, covering up the storm that has left him just few seconds ago. He simply tried to act as if nothing happened. It’s not like Kazuha would have cared enough to even worry about it. She would probably laugh at him or something along these lines, for letting himself get angry over nothing. Perhaps she would go as far as calling him weak mentally. At the mere thought, he started feeling uneasy. That was the last thing that he wanted her to think of, when looking at him. Weak. Mentally weak to make it worse. He simply couldn’t stand the possibility of it. He didn’t wanted to be seen as weak, especially by her, someone who seemed to take pride in her strength. Maybe he wanted to be seen as equal in a way, or maybe he just didn’t want her to think that in reality even he had his weak moments.
Then came the silence. Silence that he desperately wanted moments ago. Yet, his desire for such quietness seemed to slowly wither away, the longer it was lasting. Don’t get him wrong, he loves silence. He loved and appreciated it very much. Most of his days he would spend in quiet places, feeling most comfortable in such environment. Though he liked the noise too. A quieter one than the ones he would hear on daily basis. He still could appreciate such things. But now, it wasn’t the case. The silence seemed to be out of place. It was always absent whenever he was with Kazuha. Now it was present, and he could feel that it simply didn’t belong there, in this particular moment. A sigh left him. Perhaps his rival did care after all… or at least it seemed to be the case. Did he went overboard ? Maybe. He knew that at least, but he was unsure what to do in this situation.
One side would keep on nagging him to apologize. “It wasn’t necessary. You should know better as the son of Minamotos” it would keep on whispering. “You did a horrible thing. Apologize till you can”. His eyes averted to the side, instead of looking at what was in front of him, he was looking around, almost as if searching for an answer. The voice was right. He didn’t have to yell, and act all disrespectful, also most likely hurting her feelings. Yet, there was another voice that tried to win over his mind. “It’s her fault. If she wouldn’t be so annoying, you wouldn’t have to do that”. His search paused for a second. This voice was right too. Maybe if she wouldn’t play on his nerves all the time, he wouldn’t have done that and this situation would have never come up. Why would he be the one to apologize if clearly it was her fault ? But what if…it was his fault ? Who’s fault was it ? Was anyone here to blame ? What if it’s not even that bad and he is worrying too much about it ?
Even though her gaze shifted away from him, his eyes remained on her. She seemed to be struggling as much as he was. Though, he remained silent, believing that the situation would solve itself. There was no need to be thinking so much about such silly things. Not to mention, they were supposed to get some food. That would surely brighten her day up, right ? Ew, what was he even thinking about — ❛❛ Yeah…I might not seem like that kind of guy, but I do like these kinds of things. Much more than arguing or fighting. ❜❜ eh not the best answer, but that would have to do. Who would have thought that he would be so socially awkward ? He was spending time with other human beings…so what’s his damn problem ?
❛❛ I noticed. ❜❜ for fuck’s sake he is doing this again. ❛❛ Oh…plants. They are nice. Do you like bonsai trees ? ❜❜ well at least he put some effort into this, since he didn’t sounded as shitty as before. Though he had to admit it was…bizarre. Talking so calmly like this with her. Getting to know each other in a way. Or at least what they liked and disliked. He was wondering if he was even talking to the same person now. Maybe the real Kazuha was abducted by…no aliens didn’t exist. What is he dumb ? Maybe listening to all the theories his “friends” have got to him. Geez he needs to find some normal people.
No, she definitely wasn’t. Nothing happened to her, and it was clear by her idiotic comments. Ah yeah that definitely felt better now. A sigh of relief almost left him, but he contained it within himself. ❛❛ Not really. I assumed they would make you uncomfortable since you are a girl, so I continue with them. But I guess you must be a guy after all since they don’t seem to affect you as much. ❜❜ maybe not the best insult of his life, but that needs to do.. His shitty eyes wandered around, looking in all directions. He still somehow couldn’t recall any of the buildings. Damn it. They might have really got lost. Well now he will be probably stuck with her for a while. Not only she was Kazuha, but a hungry one, meaning she would be double the annoying than usual. Great. ❛❛ Oh…I see. ❜❜ he muttered more to himself than her.
❛❛ I am afraid I have really bad news for you ❜❜ he stated, looking back at her now. ❛❛ Since we both don’t seem to recognize this place nor the buildings I therefore conclude that…we got, excuse my French, fucking lost. ❜❜ as soon as he was done, he kicked the ground. Though he quickly went back to his original posture, asking himself if he was still 5 years old to be doing such childish thing. Damn he couldn’t believe what he was doing himself sometimes. ❛❛ I know where the food place was, we were really close but I think I got carried away…and well I went too far. ❜❜ he said, now scratching his chin. ❛❛ If we can figure out which way we came from then we should be fine, but well…I am not sure about the way. ❜❜ he sighed. ❛❛ Stupid suggestion but…should we flip a coin and well let it decide where to go first ? ❜❜ he was really desperate now and there was no hiding it.
🏮 — “Is that so?” She trailed off. He likes these things much more than arguing or fighting? Hah! Don’t make her laugh! This almost sounded like a bad joke. But since there was no reason for him to lie, he was probably serious about it. If that was the case, then how come he always encouraged a fight between them? Maybe it was her fault, maybe she was the one starting it all-- but he was definitely part of the problem. Instead of making mean comments or rude remarks, he could try to be nice! That way Kazuha would find it easier to return the favor. However, in her eyes, he was someone who hated her and didn’t want to be friends, no wonder she ended up mirroring his feelings. Her mindset was the same as a child’s... if he got angry or refused to apologize, she would do the same. Why? Perhaps because she didn’t want him to be right, she didn’t want to lose to him.
But then again, was it really a sign of weakness to show kindness towards her enemy? Or would it make her seem strong for overcoming her pride? Ugh! She didn’t know. This was way too confusing. In the end, all she wanted was to be equals-- whether as enemies or friends. Whatever. It’s not like anyone would ever understand her logic. She didn’t even understand herself sometimes. Not even a smart person like Hibiki could ever understand! If he could, they wouldn’t argue all the time. Ah, right. She didn’t understand him either. Maybe... if both started to look eye to eye, would they be able to see each other clearly? To avoid misunderstandings? Yeah, as if. To accomplish such a thing, both would need to be on the same wavelength, which wasn’t the case. Instead of pulling on the same rope together, they were pulling on opposite ends. How long would it take until they tear it apart?
“Of course you did. By the way, what kinda fish do you like?” She didn’t mind his answer, what a surprise. Most people knew her as the loud and energetic girl-- it was nothing new to her. At least it was never boring when she was around, though her rival probably had a different opinion on that. She was a little caught off guard by his next words. Dammit. He hit the hammer on the nail yet again! Though, instead of getting annoyed by it, her eyes lit up in excitment. “I do! There are so many different types of bonsai trees. I once saw an apple and other fruits growing from one! But they are definitely the prettiest when they are in full bloom!!” What the fuck. She blinked at her own words and almost covered her mouth. Thankfully she was able to stop herself, otherwise she would have talked about bonsai trees forever. Holding back her excitment was easier said than done, especially when it came to things she really liked.
She reminded herself who she was talking with. No way her rival would actually care about all of this. Either way, this was better than throwing insults at each other. Is what she thought-- but then he just had to make another rude comment. For a moment she actually thought of him as nice but, just as expected, it was nothing but an act. She rolled her eyes in irritation. Oh, the rope would tear apart any minute now. She could feel it... or maybe it was just the feeling of anger inside of her? “Make me uncomfortable because I’m a girl? What’s that supposed to mean?? I don’t get it! If I’m a guy, you must be an asshole since there’s only shit coming from you!!” She was so close to punching him but managed to stop herself. There was no time to get worked up over this, not now at least. Fighting wouldn’t solve the fact that they got lost. Still... it would surely help to release some anger. No, no--!
She had to focus on more important things. Like, how to find a way to the nearest food place before she would pass out. Her stomach growled in agreement. She thought for a moment, hoping to come up with some sort of idea. Though, she really wasn’t good at this. Hm.. calling her father to pick her up might work? Or maybe they could find someone and ask for directions? Ah, how about just walking until they would recognize their surroundings again? She was ready to share her suggestions but stopped herself when her rival spoke up. “Eh-? That sounds like fun. Let’s flip a coin then! It can’t get much worse than this anyway.” Being stuck with your worst enemy. Yes, there was nothing worse. “Maybe we’ll find another food place!”
The anger was quickly replaced by a new wave of excitment. She didn’t waste another second and grabbed her wallet. Luckily she always had a coin or two. Taking one out, she placed the wallet back into her pocket. She paused a moment and let her gaze wander around once more. There were several alleyways and if she was right, she could also spot a bridge in the distance. Now was the questions, which way should they try out first? “Alright. If it’s head, we’ll go through the right alley.” She pointed at the direction to make it extra clear. “And if it’s tail, we’ll take..” Her finger moved to the opposite direction. “This alley.. the left one!” A pause and she turned to look at the other. Grabbing his hand, she put the coin on his palm before placing her hands into her pockets. “Go ahead and flip it, since it was your idea and stuff.” This could either become the greatest adventure ever or end terribly. Afterall, it could always get worse.
