I’ve been listening to this song & album for a week straight now and I literally cannot get over the vocals on this track!!
Also a little fun fact this was the first some Brian wrote while under the influence of marijuana!

The Beach Boys + single covers
Join the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson on an intimate journey through his legendary career as he reminisces with Rolling Stone editor Jason Fine.
Just finished watching the new Brian Wilson documentary, definitely recommend to all my audience… definitely cried quite a few times throughout
Hey!! Sorry for Liking so much of your stuff at literally 4:30 in the morning, but it makes me so happy to see a Beach Boys blog!! 😢 I don't post a lot about them but I love them so much!! I wish people would post more, and like, talk more about albums that aren't Pet Sounds (though that is still one of my favorites 😅😅)
I am so glad to hear you love them too! I have some album reviews if you keep scrolling 🥰
What's your favorite Beach Boys solo album excluding Brian's Smile? Mine is the Dennis Wilson album, Pacific Ocean Blue. You can truly hear is mental and physical decline in his voice and lyrics.
I’d have to agree with you on that one, it shows how sensitive and fragile Dennis’ mental state was compared to his buff and carefree persona. He truly is one of a kind, such a gentle soul who was taken for granted by many. I wish he could still be here today making beautiful music.
I am very glad we agree on solo albums!
(Even though Smile is very good haha)
I know I didn’t post the whole album but this is mainly it. Surfs up is a given favorite @capt-chibi-memes-and-more
Ideal smile track list?
It’s color coded each song but I’m going to tag it under this post. A few strong pieces in the album while other songs are reaching too hard to be like pet sounds. Red- I listen to and enjoy, Yellow- it’s alright but I don’t gravitate towards itBlue- usually skip over, listened to but not a big fan
Hello people
A really good movie to watch to understand the complexity and beauty of Brian Wilson’s music is Love and Mercy. I highly recommend.... also let me know if there is any other movies or books I should read/review 😁
If you’ve already watched it like this post or comment!!!
Reblog for The Beach Boys
Like for The Beatles
Just wondering :) comments welcome. Any pros cons? I love a good discussion

Surfs up vs Sunflower?
Sunflower was a last attempt at trying to glue the band back together.... even in the album cover you can see what poor physical and mental shape that Brian was in. It was mediocre at best but my personal favorite part was Dennis’s song forever because it shows that under his burly facade was a gentle and passionate man. Surfs up is patchy but some songs are truly works of art, long promised road, till I die, and surfs up are quintessential masterpieces by Brian. Both albums have their faults but if I had to choose it would be surfs up because of its minute glimpse of pet sounds era songs.
Just wondering if any of my old tumblr friends or just anyone in general still are active on here?? I missed spreading my love of The Beach Boys to the Internet.... and trust me it’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted.
Al Jardine makes me uncomfortable
make me choose!
artists vs artist band vs band song vs song album bs album era vs era etc.!
Just do it anons
Today I am missing Carl and Dennis a whole lot. Such sweet and talented souls taken way too soon from our world. 💔
