I am a firm believer of the “fuck you, I’ll wear briefs that don’t give me a wedgie, I don’t care if they’re not sexy” policy, but a lot of women are expected to wear panties and thongs because GASP WOMEN MUST BE BEAUTIFUL AT ALL TIMES. i buy mens dress shirts for work because a) they have a breast pocket, which is useful, b) they button all the way up and c) i can actually tuck it in and have it stay put when i reach for something. oh, and yes, they’re $5-10 less on average than a comparable women’s shirt. i’m not even going to get into how much i spent today on tampons and midol. but it was ridiculous, and the tampons at least are a necessity (the midol just keeps me human).

My jeans regularly cost $60-$80 and need to be replaced every 6 months or so because they wear through. The cheapest bra I’ve ever bought was $68 dollars, and that’s only because there was a 15% off deal online. I’ve given up on buying panties entirely because it’s one of the few things that is actually cheaper to make yourself. I don’t buy tampons or pads because I don’t have a period, but the flip side to that is I have to shell out $60 dollars every three months to have a nurse stick a needle in my hip. I went to the men’s section at Walmart over the weekend and picked up a t shirt for 5 bucks. I’ve never in my life seen a “women’s” t shirt for that low of a price.
