anyway i agree with you about the book BUT it's so far better than Throttled (Lauren Asher) which means nothing bc it's hard to be worse but well. ill give it that lol. im not very far into the book yet but i agree with you on the tropes being very corny - also what is it with romance authors giving all their characters trauma as a plot device i hate that. like not giving the characters trauma in and of itself but like, the way it's often done. idk if ykwim i cant give you many fic recs but i did enjoy 'let me soothe you' by standgrand and 'sunkissed' by 1425fivefive so far (it's both landoscar tho so idk if it's your thing)

now im pulling the uno reverse: do YOU have any recs for me perhaps? (idc about which ships tbh, im usually not into rpf and just currently indulging in it cause i dont have any, like, more fictional fandom i want to read fanfic of. and some of the fics are like rlly good and i dont want to limit myself just cause i have some slightly weird morality complex about rpf lmao) (i dont mean this as in i judge other ppl reading/writing rpf i mean this as im exclusively judging myself)

as for the fics - i'm not usually a Landoscar fan but in all honesty i'm open to anything (except Lestappen 🫣) if it's written well so i'll definitely have to check them out

as for my recs... i'll limit myself to just a few!

also - i totally get what you mean about struggling with the morality of RPF (even though i've written it!)... personally i usually can't enjoy it when fics bring in the driver's partner/ family, and i tend to skip over smut scenes. i also tend to write AUs (such as my vampire AU), to put them in a different situation. I don't judge anyone else for enjoying certain tropes, of course, but yeah, it's a tricky thing to navigate. i comfort myself by knowing there's a very small likelihood any of of them are on AO3!

yeah throttled was (imo) SO bad, it was rlly rlly inaccurate (like the author kept writing that the cars are made out metal. which is not true. like obv parts are but carbon fiber is like pretty important yk) and the main couple was so boring. like the fmc was super annoying and the mmc just had no personality? also the trauma as a plot device thing and the smut was insanely repetitive (and i usually do enjoy reading smut tbh lmao) but yeah it was bad

anyway thanks for the fic recs and i agree that it's a bit awkward when fics involve the drivers family beyond like. mentioning them. and i do prefer AUs as well as for smut ive found i dont have a problem with reading it, what i personally sometimes feel strange about it more like fluffy stuff? cause it feels more personal and maybe parasocial to me, since, like, smut is kind of more like playing with puppets to me i think? idk how to explain it tbh but smut is more depersonalized to me and im also kind of a "all in" person sometimes, so, like, if im already reading rpf i might as well read all of it i guess lmao

and i also cant imagine that any of them are on ao3 but tbh if i was famous i would absolutely be looking up fanfiction of myself but maybe im just weird lol
