So uh, i can't remember if I've ever done an introduction post so here goes;

Hi, I'm Dragon, heres some things about me;

-I do all/any pronouns, though most of my online friends just stick with he/him.

-I'm on the older end of gen Z

-I'm in EST timezone

-My main interests are sandbox/open world video games such as minecraft and The Elder Scrolls franchise or many RP Games like WCUE. I love reading and am a big fan of all things fantasy.

-My hobbies consist of drawing, diamond-painting, writing, lego and as previously mentioned, gaming.

Randomly remembered something I saw online and can't remember the exact details of - a translation of an ancient Egyptian letter that a young soldier sent his family from abroad, I think from Rome. While all the other details are lost to me, I distinctly remember the tone of the letter, because the attitude in it was so shockingly different to the way I was raised. In Finnish, the word for "conceited" is literally "self-loving", and there's a saying about how self-praise reeks, and any kind of praise of one's own is downright shameful. Entire generations have been raised with the idea that saying anything positive about your own children will rot their moral core.

And this guy in this letter was like "Dear father, dear mother, I am now here in Rome! I am sure to prosper thanks to how excellently you have raised me. I have commissioned a picture of myself in my new uniform, so you can see how handsome I look in it."

Like... Damn. Imagine raising a kid to be that unwaveringly confident in their own worth and prospects, and unhesitant to praise you as well. Why would you raise your kid any other way.

Love the idea of a story about a complex issue that's told from the perspective of something that cannot comprehend or care about the issue. The way the story would be sliced up and moments that a human would consider pointless would be focused on because the pigeon happened to be there would be hype as fuck

In order to read something in the Library of Congress, you must, in order:

1) Be 16+ years old and in possession of ID such as a driver’s license or passport to obtain a LoC card

2) Make an appointment to go to a reading room

3) Know what it is you want to read and which library building it is in so you can fill out a request form when you arrive.

So the chances of a “child” just stumbling over something “inappropriate” that was “put” there by the choice of the head librarian is 100% impossible.
