Furthermore, the developers considered letting the characters speak English but if they decided to do so, it would be too expensive to record all the words for every language The Sims has been produced in. Plus you would get tired of hearing the same phrases over and over again.

The word Simlish can also refer to any virtual language characters in a game are speaking.
