so we had:
an indian woman talking to another indian women about blood purity
the indian rani being a dictator and then getting killed for no reason while the white rani survives
the indian companion being randomly shoved into the role of mother and then getting sidelined in favour of the white companion from the previous series
the black, openly queer doctor regenerating into a white woman from a previous series
russell t davies back to his old tricks i see
doctor who kill yourself tenrose kill yourself england kill yourself
having a cat is so miraculous. this little guy wants to sleep in my bed with me and purr on my chest. it’s his favorite hobby. no one told him to do that he just Loves His Mommy
nevermind he’s extremely naughty and has terrorized multiple people this morning
Sinners (2025) dir. Ryan Coogler
jane eyre should’ve ended with jane and rochester getting married and then jane locking him in the attic for prolonged periods of time while the novel framed her as righteous and romanticized it
i know most people following me dont care about the weather, but i really need to share this because im genuinely gonna throw the fuck up dying of laughter over whoever runs this national weather service account on twitter fighting for their lives
i could feel the poor poor national weather service employee who was stuck responding to all these people's pure aggravation and annoyance with every face palming emoji they used
i don't wanna sound hopeless but i feel like so many of you don't care or have stopped caring about palestine.
the news of hospitals being bombed, children being massacred, people dying from the cold, and the famine spreading in gaza does not seem enough to grab attention or make people care.
what new tragedy needs to befall gaza for you to start talking about it? the occupation kills a child every few minutes. people are cold and are starving. refugee camps are being bombed with bombs that can level city blocks.
this all happens because of all of us. we are complicit in this genocide because our governments use the taxes we pay to send weapons to the occupation. weapons that are used to kill children and impose a blockade that is starving 2 million people.
the very fact that we're still going about our days when all of this is going on breaks my heart. especially because we have failed to stop our governments from using our money to arm israel.
i urge you, please be generous and donate to suad and her baby khaled. he is just six months old and suad is unable to find any formula for him. if she finds anything, it is extremely expensive. the baby also needs warm clothes and is suffering from a respiratory problem and needs a nebulizer.
@suad-khaled has been verified [#279]
please help suad and her baby boy

the problem with white queers is they're white and they'll always see white as the standard so being queer is a deviation from the standard to them, (ie. being queer is a deviation from whiteness) the same way being black or brown is a deviation from whiteness. which is why they will always forget about gays of color. because then their little system doesn't make sense.
this also has white gays somehow believing they're exempt from 'being racist' because they're not white white. they're actually lgbt so they can't be racist.
somehow the inverse isn't true though, gays of color are not only not exempt from being homophobic or transphobic, they're also more likely to be so than cishet white people and if a gay of color disagrees with a white gay they're just being homophobic.
People have said - and there is some truth in this - that the western world only cares when white people are killed. But unfortunately it's even worse than that. No, it turns out that our politicians only care when their personal friends are affected. The red line wasn't civilians, and it wasn't university professors and poets. The red line wasn't hospitals and doctors, it wasn't award winning surgeons, it wasn't children. It wasn't bombs, or bombing journalists, it wasn't starving children to death, it wasn't wiping out family lines. The red line wasn't aid workers, it wasn't a woman being bulldozed over, it wasn't a sniped grandmother, it wasn't influencers known around the world, it wasn't artists, it wasn't UN workers, it wasn't someone who burned themselves to death in protest in full view of the world. The red line is a celebrity chef they like having his staff murdered deliberately. And not even there - we're only drawing close to one. Turns out that to get anything done you have to start hurting the politicians themselves or people they personally have something invested in. Really makes you feel like a democracy.
