Islamophobic violence is also in the way the ministry of interior (who is also the ministry of religions) stopped everything when a synagogue was attacked and visited the synagogue in the following hours. He did the same when it happened in a school. He did the same for everyone. But when a Muslim man, is killed inside a mosque because he is Muslim he didn’t go. He didn’t cancel any of his unimportant meeting. He waited 48h before going to a big city NEAR the village where the mosque is but he didn’t go to the mosque.

Islamophobic violence is also when that same ministry of the interior goes on TV and say that the march against Islamophobia and to honor Aboubakar (Allah yarhmou) wasn’t a good thing and it’s actually a disservice to Muslims because we’re supposedly French like everyone and that march was somehow implying we are not.

Islamophobic violence is also when the family of Aboubakar Cisse says that the ministry of the interior refused to meet them.

Islamophobic violence is also when that very same ministry of the interior talks about Aboubakar on Sunday but cannot pronounce his name and says “the individual” and in the same interview use that same word to designate the murderer. Designating both the victim and his murderer with the same generic almost dehumanizing word.

Islamophobic violence is also when a French representative at the National Assembly tells to the ministry of the interior that he should resign and calls him out on being unable to say the name of the victim (it is VERY simple to pronounce it in French we’re not even asking for the proper accent) that same ministry of the interior answers and butchers Aboubakar’s name again.

It's with a heavy but hopeful heart that I watch Palestinian families fundraiser on here, slowly accumulating the precious little money to go around that they need to survive. However, not everyone is so lucky. A lot of Palestinians that have not had that kind of luck, that did not get early verification, that did not get massive platforms behind them from large bloggers, have approached me in my inbox, asking me kindly to do what I can for them. It kills me that I have so little to give myself, but I've seen this platform collectively raise enough to change someone's life. I've made a list of Palestinian fundraisers that are extremely low on funds, in the hope that drawing attention to people who have not been lucky at all can help turn that luck around. I know most of us can't possibly give enough to get all of these families safe in one go. But please, reblog this list. Pick one or two fundraisers, give what you can, and then keep track of it. Slowly, collectively, we can make a difference in these people's lives.
